I had red clear liquids and was fine. I am sure you are okay. Best wishes on your journey. -
Pissed Part II - A Different Perspective
2livesmart replied to LisaMc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am glad that things are looking up. I think we all get frustrated, but thinking about the positives definitely does help. good luck and I wish you continued success. -
Sorry about your hair loss. I've heard that anesthesia helps with hair loss as well and was told not to put any chemicals in my hair for a while post surgery. Biotin Forte is a good supplement to get. Yoy will have to get it from your pharmacy but you do not need a prescription. It is better than what you can get over the counter. Good luck on your journey!

Just found out Insurance denied my request
2livesmart replied to junbug178's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't be bummed. BCBS denied me twice claiming the same thing. The program that I went through had legal counsel that helped and I was finally approved. I can give you some helpful tips as well. The process was long and frustrating, but don't give up. -
SURGERY JUST SCHEDULED for 10/21!!!!!
2livesmart replied to juliansmom2003's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats to you!!! I did EAS protein shakes and carnation breakfast shakes during the pre-op along with fat free jello. It gets easier after the first couple of days. Good luck! -
You will do fine. The first 2 -3 days are the hardest. After that it becomes a lot easier. It is really mind over matter. I started my pre op diet on Christmas eve. if I can do it anyone can. Good luck on your journey and feel free to ask questions. I was nervous as well!!!

I am 9 months out and carbonated beverages give me a problem sometimes. I find that if I let it sit for a while it is better. I am not a big meat eater so I get my protein in by drinking shakes and eating egg whites. However, I do eat chicken a lot. It all depends on the person. Some foods agree with some people and not others. Hopefully, this little bit helps. Let me know if you have other questions and good luck on your journey.

record your journey?
2livesmart replied to moviestartaal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I record mine on you tube too. It is a great way to hear andsee what others are doing and when I am having a frustrating moment (like now) it keeps me motivated. Good luck on your journey!! -
The scale keeps jumping and I'm getting a little frustrated!!
2livesmart posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok, I am 9 months post op and I am stuck...do you here me STUCK at 30 pounds. My doctor stated that I should lose 50 pounds by the end of the year. Hopefully, I reach my goal. I lose 2 pounds then I gain it back. I lose three pounds then it comes right back. I have been going around in circles for a few months now. I hear everyone talking about a sweet spot. What is that exactly? Also, what are some tips for getting over the hump? -
Stress eating...anger eating...bored eating...
2livesmart replied to bashful1269's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't knwo if you are a writer but I write and exercise to help relive the stress. I am an emotional eater as well. I eat when I am happy, sad, stressed, depressed....the list is endless. I can't keep oreos in the house because like you I could consume the whole pack easily! Just hang in there and try not to have those high calorie stress foods around. i find that if I have to drive to get the food I'm less likely to indulge. Notice I said less, because I have been known to do a late night ice cream stress run. I wish you continued success. -
Will I Ever See the REAL ME??
2livesmart replied to sweetbean70's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know exactly how you feel. i have a hard time shopping as well. I gave away some clothes last week and part of me was like....maybe I should keep these just in case. People tell me that they can see the weight loss but I have a harder time seeing it. I guess it just comes with the territory. I wish you continued success! -
Good luck with your first fill. I was banded Dec 31, 2008 and I just had my fourth fill 2 weeks ago. I wish you much success!

Very Upset still after severe complications with surgery
2livesmart replied to megana911's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry that you had such an unpleasant experience. I believe that with time you will feel much better. Just stay prayerful and positive. I know that is easier said than done but, it will start to get better. The worse should certainly over. I had a bad reaction to the anesthesia and was forced to stay overnight. I was the first in surgery that day and the last to leave! So I spent New Years Eve in the hospital. As you continue your journey I wish you great success. Please keep me posted on your progress. -
Had my surgery this morning...sore!!
2livesmart replied to LILYTAM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck on your journey. I was out of it the first few days but after that I was fine. My shoulder was sore and I had A Lot of gas. I was warned about the gas but I guess you never know what someone means until you experience it. Gas X helped a lot. Keep me posted on your journey. I wish you all the best! -
Such a journey and now its about to really begin!
2livesmart replied to chatty826's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats to you!!! I remember that day so well. I am wishing you all the best. If you have Any questions or comments don't hesitate to ask. I know that I was happy to bounce questions off of people that were going through the same thing. Good luck. It is one of the best decisions I have ever made. -
Congrats to you!!! VGetting banded is one of the best choices I have ever made. Like you I have been overweight since I was a child. Keep me posted on your progress and if you have questions don't hesitate to ask. All the best!!!

You are doing great. i am experiencing a plateau as well. It is frustrating but I am sure that it will start coming off again soon. I was so discouraged a few weeks back but I went back to the doc he said that I am doing fine. My motto is as long as I am not gaining I am doing OK. I wish you all the best.

My port's on the right
2livesmart replied to Mickey527's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My port is a little on the left somewhat above my belly button. I had to get the gas x pills because the strips didn't help. But the gas was unreal, but it does get better. Congrats and good luck on your progress! -
So... got some work to do.
2livesmart replied to viprvenm's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so happy that you are moving forward with such vigor. You have a great attitude and that will definitely make your journey successful. All the best! -
Lisa you are fine:). Everyone loses a different amount of weight during their pre op. Six pounds is a great start. Don't focus on the amount of pounds at first. As long as the numbers are going down you are headed in the right direction. Good luck.

Stomach flu and lapband?
2livesmart replied to Mickey527's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This actually happened to me and I was scared out of my mind because like you I rarely vomit and hate doing so. However it wasn't bad. I didn't have any trouble as far as the band goes. I just felt horrible. -
Will be BANDED August 25th....Anybody Else??
2livesmart replied to Parshuter's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on Dec 31st and did a 2 week liquid pre op diet starting on 12/24. I guess when you want something you go for it. You will be fine. The first few days were a little difficult but after that I was fine. I wish you all the best. Get ready because the journey starts now!!! -
Hello, I am Mike and I am pleased to be here.
2livesmart replied to mcm1210's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Mike, I wish you all the best in your journey. Getting banded is changing my life. I love it. It is a journey worth taking. I wish you all the best. -
You will probably want to stay at least the first night after surgery. It depends on how you feel. I was told not to drive for the first couple of days or take long car rides.
