Buying clothes is a full time job!!

Lisa, I'm doing the same thing. 2 pairs of black pants and 5/6 shirts that go with black. I'm new in my office and they probably think this is all I ever wear, wouldn't they be surprised to learn until my surgery in June I didn't even own anything black. :blushing:

    Same Problem....Different Reason

I've been having the same problem. I just transferred jobs and I have to dress up everyday. 2 weeks ago I bought a size 20 and it was snug. I also bought an 18 thinking they'd last me awhile. Well, the 20 is too big and the 18 is already getting loose! It's so frustrating, but at the same time I love that this is happening! My new wardrobe consists of black pants and shirts that can go with those pants. I figure I can survive with 2 pair of pants in each size, considering lately I'm going through a size every other week, this is getting expensive! However, with all the money I'm saving on junk food I guess I can afford it!
  3. I had surgery 6/3/09. I'd been told about possible hair loss, but this is getting ridiculous. My hair has been falling out since the beginning of august. I have to clean my hair brush out everyday. I starting to know how Chemo patients feel. Ugh! am I going to go completely bald? I've already got really thin spots at my hair line. I'm taking 2 Flinstones complete daily, a b-complex Vitamin and about 6000 of Biotin. Is there anything else I can do? Any foods good for the hair? When did the hair loss stop for those of you ahead of me in this process? Lisa start weight 293 - May 3, 2009 day of surgery 276 -June 3, 2009 today 233- Sept 6 2009

Hair Loss - Will it stop?

Thanks for the replies, I'm probably not getting enough protein, even though it seems like that is all it eat. I can't do the protein shakes because of the artifical sweetners (I'm allergic). I'll have to start counting my protein and see where that gets me.
  5. I'm 5 weeks post op and I'm scheduled for my first fill this thursday. I've lost 40 total since pre-op diet. I still get full very fast. I eat very little and no snacking. For example today for lunch I had 3 little grilled chicken nuggets (mcdonalds sized) and I'm almost miserable because I ate too much. Breakfast is usually one egg or half a chicken thigh and I'm so full I feel like I'm stuffed. My surgeon wants me to go ahead and do the fill, but I'm sort of leaning towards cancelling. I don't want to be overfilled and I'm certainly not eating a lot. What do ya'll think? Oh and my port site still is pretty sore 5 weeks out, is this normal? Lisa

    How quick

I got serious about losing weight one month prior to surgery and started my own version of a pre-op diet. Lost 17lbs. It's been just over 3 weeks since my surgery and I've lost another 21 lbs. So 38lbs total in 7 weeks. I know it won't continue like this but I can sure hope!

    What is....

I will never have a Coke again! I'm a Coke Fiend and I know if I have even one sipe I'll be back to my old addiction. I used to even drink coke for Breakfast. I wonder if there is a 12 step program for Coke feinds? I'm doing pretty good staying away from junk right now but I'm only 3 weeks out so we'll see.... Favorite food right now is BBQ skinless chicken thighs. Yum! and I buy the steam in the bag broccoli/carrots/califlower. Perfect meal. I know it's not a recipe but heck I don't cook.
  8. I put myself on a diet one month before surgery. Gave up soda and fast food and started trying Protein drinks. No luck with the Protein Drinks because of allergies. Anyway lost 17lbs month before surgery. I'm 3 weeks out from surgery and I've lost 20 more. Last week I didn't lose anything but I really wasn't taking in enough calories. (350-500 a day) so this week I added calories and the weight has fallen off this week. Lisa

    Annoyed

Oh how frustrating! I'd definately tell her how upset you are. Then make sure you don't ever share anything private with her again. I know it stinks to lose a friend but sometimes we have to protect ourselves.

    LDS rollcall

Of course I'm proud to be LDS. And I really don't have a problem with having had a band. However, I live in a very small community and go to an even smaller branch, it's just not anyone's business. Lots of nosey nelly's in this neck of the woods. I'm just a private person. btw, if I'm asked I would certainly tell the truth! This isn't something I'd lie about just not something I'm advertising. Lisa

    LDS rollcall

Yup, I'm LDS and about 2 hours south of you in Virginia. Only 2 people from church know I did this though! :ihih: I'd love to chat but don't want anyone we may know mutally to find out our connection!
  12. I am having problems drinking the Protein drinks because it seems everything has either nutrasweet or splenda. They both give me awful headaches and make me feel like crap. My surgeon said to just keep drinking them and my body would get used to it. Um...No just can't. I've stopped taking my pain meds for pain now only have to take them if I drink a Protein shake. That's not how it's supposed to work. Any suggestions? My surgery was 6/4/09.
