Thank you for responding. I eat plenty (sometimes I have to watch I don't get too much- love the shakes) of protein. I think you are right on both answers....I def need a first fill. I also think your right in that a lot of it IS in my head. Hopefully that will stop soon. Thank you!

I tend to sip with a straw rather than suck it down fast, and tend to gulp more without...I'm not sure what to do...question for my doc Fri. I'll post his answer.

Banded May 17, 2010. I have been healing really well. No problems with anything sticking (on solids already), no vomiting, I am getting plenty of protein (love the shakes) BUT, I want to eat constantly....not big stuff , just grazing. The calories add up and I am NERVOUS!!! I go see the doctor Friday, then I guess he will tell me when I get a fill, but I really feel like I need one bad. I don't even have a really full feeling at all. I have after having a large protein shake, but that subsides quickly. Anyone else having this problem??

eating sooner than allowed

Banded May 17, 10. Clear liquids for about 4 days, then full liquids about 4 days, then started solids...I'm very careful about what I choose, but I am doing awesome. I've lost 7 pounds (3.5 pounds each week). Sometimes I feel I'm eating too much, but hoping when I get my fill that will help. I have been craving sugar which is so wierd, because sugar was never my problem before. Made the mistake of buying dum dum suckers, thinking I'll just suck on one or two....nope, I was eating them....knocked out 5 and I plan on taking them to my sisters, let her kids have them. There are only 25 calories in one..........but, can't seem to stop. argh! Regardless, I'm doing very well. -
OH' I'm so sorry. I hope you get help very quickly. I can't believe that your ER won't admit you...that is what you need til the doctor can see you. I wonder if you can request that. You need to be on an IV.

How long have you been banded - Poll
Havens replied to HAL380's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have been banded since May 17, 2010. Monday will be 2 weeks. I have done wonderful and have lost right at 7 pounds. I had lost 10 Pre-op so, 17 pounds. I am eating solids now. Seemed quick, but I'm doing so good.....I am being very careful and doing itty bitty bite and chewing and chewing. Post op SX appt June 4, then I guess they will give me a fill appt. then. -
I try and try to find ways to make the Protein shakes taste better. I have decided that I like the EAS brand in Choc and Body Fortress in vanilla (like the price on this one) There is about 20-23 Protein in one scoop. I put about 12 oz of ice, 8 oz of Water , 1 scoop Protein powder and then....add 1/4 pkg of sugar free pudding mix (instant) whatever flavor....all kinds go with vanilla. Put in blender and make a shake. Play around with it some...you may need a tiny bit more P. powder, or a bit more pudding......I sometimes put a little splenda. With the Chocoate, put a little cocoa powder (only 10 cal in tbsp). This helps the shakes so much. Very good!!!! Hope this helps some.:cursing:

I was banded May 17. I did liquids the first 4 days and then full liquids for about 4 days and now I am eating solids. I'm being extremely sensible in what solids I choose. I ate mashed potatoes one eve. Could only eat 1/2 cup, ate it very slow and did fine. I think the post op diet depends a lot on how quickly you heal, how you are able to keep foods down, how tiny your bites are and how long you chew. I have had NO problems at all. I am just trying things real slow. There is no way I could have done a liquid (clear) diet for 2 weeks.........so, I don't think the mashed potatoes should hurt one bit. Just be careful of gravy, butter...e.t.c. as said before, it can get fattening. Good luck!!!

How Many Calories Do You Consume On An AVERAGE Day?
Havens replied to WASaBubbleButt's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
May I ask you what you eat? I know I'm eating more than that. My protein shakes have about 250 calories and I try to have 2 of those per day. I want my protein. I'm scared to death of losing my hair and getting all sickly looking. -
Banded yesterday.. wooow the pain!
Havens replied to oconnell's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was there too. I was also banded on the 17th and for the next 3days I thought my lord, should I have not done this??? But, getting much better now. Gas is going away, incisions ache and I'm achey in my gut area....eating fine. No vomiting. But, I feel ya.....felt the same way! -
Feels something hard under large incision..
Havens replied to jen36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was just banded the 17th of May and I feel my port under a 1 1/2 in. inc. above and a litttle to the left of my belly button. -
Wow! I cannot believe I am here....
Havens replied to Fordgal88's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'm confused (maybe I'm so nervous about my upcoming lap and Mon 17th) that my brain is not functioning. You had Blue Cross Blue shield of Alambama?...they would not approve reconstructive sx??? and then you changed to Viva? Then you changed back to bcbs of Alabama?? and they did approve it?? I apologize.....I just want to understand being that I have bcbs of Alabama. It is through Lowes inc. Do you mind explaining. My thick skull did not take it in. Thank you so much:) -
Thanks for the gas x idea.......don't have that on the list and I'm sure will be beneficial.
