I'm so sorry:sad: Some men who are very insecure would rather be with someone who is either heavy or not so pretty. I'm sure you are pretty. The extra weight that you had kept him more confident that no one else would want you, but that is a load of crap, because there are plenty of men out there who like a full figured women. He is jealous and it's very sad for him. The only thing he is doing by acting this way is pushing you further away from him. My husband knew of a lady who, when she lost A LOT of weight, did leave her husband of quite a few years. I'm not saying you will, but I wonder if your right...he thinks you will. I don't know what to tell you about how to handle it or even how to talk to him about it. I don't know his personality. You will have to decide if being with him and his comments and being so competitive is worth it. Good luck with everything. -

Thursday was my day to have the EKG, BW, and Chest Xray. Long day, glad that's over. I'm very nervous and very excited at the same time. I have been heavy since third grade. I did lose 15, 20, 30, even 65 pounds one time (65- was from absolutly starving myself). I am so anxious to not feel hungry and to feel healthy and NO DIABETES, which I have developed during pregnancy and it decided to stick with me (probably due to extra weight. I have been trying to get this done since Nov 08. My surgery is May 17th at Mt. Carmel (Dr. Price) Columbus, Ohio. My profile picture does not show my size. I will try to post one that does and then keep pictures coming as I lose. Good luck to everyone going through this. Sheila:thumbup:

I am waiting for a surgery date (maybe they will tell me when they call with the date), but the advocate for the bariatric center and the surgeon himself have never mentioned pre-op diet. Do some doctors ask you to do that and some not? Or, does it depend on your weight?

Hi, I'm Sheila and I am waiting for a surgery date. After a year and a half of waiting for approval and going through 6 months of diet and excersise with my Doc, I got the approval one month ago. They told me it might take a month for the Surgeon to make the appt. He makes his own appt.'s and then the advocate for the bariatric center will call me........I'm going nuts waiting:( I'm not nervous about the surgery itself, more about the life change that comes with it. But, I AM READY. I have a lot of health problems (at 42yr) and am ready to feel better. Sheila:thumbup:

What the heck?!?! Why do people say the things that they do?

I am waiting for a surgery appt. I have had a number of people try and talk me out of it. My family is very supportive, but even close friends are acting all wierd about it. Don't worry too much about it, they just don't understand, and are too mouthy about how they feel. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but they should know when to stop. Good luck to you
