Top of the mornin' to ye...... Jenn: did I mention how freaking awesome you looked in your current pic??????? HAWT!!!!!! Laura: I am biased on the kid thing because my first husband never wanted kids and I always knew that I was destined to be a mom...... I had 3 miscarriages and he was relieved each and every time I lost one... it was really an underlying reason that our marriage failed.... I always knew he would be a good dad but he needed to man up and not be scared of the responsibilty...... (he knocked up the girl he cheated on me with and then talked her into an abortion..... he knocked the next young thing he dated and had a shotgun wedding and now 2 little girls) and he loves being a dad....... I was right. Robbys bio has strong sperm but NO sense of what it takes to be a stable father figure which is why he has fathered 4 KNOWN babies but see's NONE of them..... I knew this but I didn't care.. I think somewhere in the back of my mind I knew that he had supersperm and that if anyone was going to be able to get me pregnant than it would be him...... I was fully prepared to be a mom and thats all I really cared about.... (the consequences of those actions, have cost me a lot of money in court) I love love love being a mom... it is my lifes destiny... I have my son, and now look....... I have a huge family... I married a wonderful man who stepped up to adopt Robby and now we all have the same name and shared life.. I guess what I'm saying is this........ fulfil YOUR lifes destiny, and if you don't think DH will step up then you either need to be prepared to be the family anchor or you will need to reevaluate. Men are for the most part immature and either they will grow up and step up or they will continue to be immature and you will have to be the grown up for the entire family........ (not meaning to men bash)

We ended up with a new stove and new fridge with the wedding money!!!! WHOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! The puppy Uno is doing very well... he seems to be really smart.. he is right now asleep in his kennel with the door wide open (we put it in the living room and he is already heading towards the back door to go outside to do his business....... Robby is somewhat jealous of him and we are working with him to be nice.. this will be a very good learning for all the boys...... gotta run right now...

Refresh my memory.......... have any of you been banded in Mexico? My mom and step dad have decided to go for it and they will be self pay... I was thinking that Judy and Haydee were banded south of the border.......

I lovie Carnie......... as a matter of fact I used to visit her webmd blog daily craving updates and is what really spurred me into researching WLS.. what someone else said.......... "We relate to her and that scares us" ////// so true....... I don't think we ever really shed the fat girl inside feeling..... (I haven't yet) I've lost large amounts of weight many times only to regain...... Self sabotage and BATTLE TWO........ Battle TWO is why I chose the band! Maintenence......... I will go get a fill if needed. I know that I would be a regainer had I chosen the RNY. Carnie is just like the rest of us....... life long battle with obesity.. sure our inner demons are different, but the obesity... and the damn pounds that just won't stay gone....... well that is universal........ May the force be with us all!

J: I had to say.. I was really touched by your post...... wow.. what an NSV for you. As for me.......... I am happier and because of that those I love are happier.... DH loved me no matter the size but he does love my butt and the way they look in my size 12 levis..... no I'm not small... but I do look good, and more importantly I FEEL good.... The sense of control I feel is priceless and that too has a way to shine through your soul......... I look nicer in my clothes and I walk with my head held high instead of deflated and pissed off at myself at what I had become......... I kind of worry that I'm getting to a complacent stage in my weight loss... (onederland) but thank goodness the band is here to remind me that I still can't eat that half a pizza! LOL I will not lie....... it was hard for DH to get used to me eating so little.... early in our journey.... I would get really p.o.'d because he DARED be offended that I only ate a cup of Soup, or when I took issue with paying full buffet price for so little food..... (yikes the arguments) Heck it was even hard for the boys to see me only eat 1 plate of food... they would be "THATS ALL????" I too would mourn the loss of quantity.. now I just think its sad...... I have grown.... now when at a buffet I look around for the skinny people and notice that they are NOT gorging themselves...... they are eating smaller portions and nobody is even paying attention........ so in that I am now the normal one...... THANK YOU TO MY BAND! DH is now used to me eating 1 taco or 1 bowl of chicken tortilla soup while he puts away an entire order of fajitas, a basket of chips and more than not....... desert later that night...... my meals are alacarte and cheaper.... he now notices those rare times when I am loser and can seemingly eat more than normal............. He jokes that he knows more about my bodily functions that he ever cared too... LOL but all in all we have grown as a couple, and he is not threatened that I will leave him behind.

I want to thank each and every one of you for the gifts, cards and well wishes from the wedding... I am still so humble about it all.. touched that my violet sisters have crossed into real life friends. I can not wait til MAY! We are heading to NFM tonight to buy a new stove because the old one shorted out and semi caught fire last night! YIKES luckily Charles was the one cooking and knew to kill the breaker and close it up.......... So we are using wedding money to get a new one... and we might look at fridges while we are at it.......... (the fridge in our home now was bought new in 1992) she's made it through all lifes drama with me, but now is on her last leg and looks pitiful

Please remember that doctors are human...... they have personal biases... for instance my doc only does bands... he told us in his seminar that he trained in other WLS but he preferred the bands. The docs on Big Medicine do both....... their view is that if your BMI is over XX that the Bypass is best......... I chose the band because I've watched two of my best friends battle the ByPass.......... they both lost 120lbs in the first year but now 4 and 7 years out......... they are fighting regains and continued issues with malnutrition... a lifetime of Vitamin b-12 shots and bariatric Vitamins.... intolerance to certain foods and both have had bouts of depression and marriages have suffered...... they both think their choice was best.. and for them it was.. but for me............ no. Surgery on Thursday back to work the following monday. MAINTENANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know if I had the bypass I would be fightin regains and with the band.. I will simply go get a fill if I start eating too much. Can be turned off in time of medical need. ALL my innards are in tact... I LOVE LOVE LOVE MY BAND! fickle as she may be.. I love these size 12's that I'm wearing today.

HE is a Heinz 57! The sister looked straight up rottie...... we think shepherd, rottie maybe mixed with doberman........ = BIG not a big fan of dobermans so I'm hoping I heard her wrong...... DH and I had decided to get a dog for the boys to grow up with and WHAM there was a girl pushing a cart entitled with FREE PUPPIES...... taking him today for shots. Robby didn't mean too but came up with the name UNO, and it has stuck. Havent trained a pup in about 12 years........ doing it right this time with a kennel and K-9 obedience..... and NO SLEEPING IN THE BED! :smile2:

The band is a tool to help you work a plan...... (yeah yeah you can read it a million times, but until you actually experience it you won't get it) LET ME BE THE FIRST TO SAY........ I AM NOT A PERFECT BANDSTER! as a matter of fact I'm getting ready to admit myself into the DAIRY QUEEN REHAB.... lol But that said...... I am quite simply no longer physically able to gorge myself at a buffet or pizza joint even if I wanted tooooooo...... I would be PB'ng til my eyes watered and all the while beating myself up for being stupid............ You will be eating less and because of that losing...... your body has no choice.....but when you get a to a place of complacency (like I am now) you WILL have to chose more wisely to keep on with the journey.... I started in a 24 jean....... I am right now as I type this wearing size 12 pants....... and I weighed 193 on the scale........ so to lose the last 40 pounds I am going to have to get my head back in the weight loss game because quite simply I am feeling fine in 12's......... last year at this same time I was 272 and miserable....... I know I'm rambling...... Short version: Proper restriction for me is NOT ABLE TO EAT PIZZA Have a plan ready to work at and then don't beat yourself up for slips 50-150 lbs in a year is nothing to sneeze at (enjoy the ride!) Having the band and being able to "turn off" the hunger sensors quickly makes working ANY plan easier OH........... and a small blizzard fills me up when pre band I would of eaten a large on top of a meal............. Preband mexican night: 1 basket of chips, 1 complete order of fajita's, pick off my sons plate....... Last night: a few chips, 1 crunchy taco (or a bowl of chicken tortila soup)..................PRICELESS BABY PRICELESS We eat out A LOT........... I may not eat half a pizza anymore but I can usually find something on any menu........ (even if it is a loaded baked potatoe) Today: Weight Control oatmeal Tomatoe Soup w/milk Dinner: TBA GOOD LUCK

LOL!!!!!! No metal in the ports........ BUT flying has made my band swell........ also stress and my TOM.... all make me tighter. Have fun!
