First.. call your insurance and see if they cover it and then try and find out what your requirements are for determination, that way if you need a meeting with a nutritionist or psyc eval you can have that done first. GOOD LUCK and WELCOME

I subtract fiber.... but the sugar alcohols always trigger more cravings, and they stall me out.

I'm back, I survived! 3 hours including an assement that included 567 true/false questions................. YUCK! $200 out of pocket, because my FSA card was declined. So I'm gettting ready to fax my reimbursement form in.

I don't really view NOT telling my boss as a lie........ it's just simply none of his business.... I may end up telling him after I've lost weight, but for now it would be 8 hours a day of him sitting accross my desk wanting to talk about it, or tease me, or tell me that it is stupid waste of money and every other uneducated opinion he could muster... I've learned this lesson the hard way.... He still brings up things I've told him about my personal life that were pertinant 5 years ago, he is very judgmental.. hell he even judges my parents (because I am divorced) The list goes on an on..... I agree with the the person who said, YOU KNOW YOUR COWORKERS BEST..... this is good advice to remember.

Thanks Mary & Sharon! I am leaving my office in a little over an hour......... (my boss thinks I'm going to a nutritionist) but my nutritionist appointment is next week.

Do a search on food or Mushies.... Everyone is different in what they can tolerate, my doc says the only thing you truly have to give up is white doughy bread. He gives back carbonated stuff after 5 months. This place has a wealth of info... so just spend some time reading

Welcome. Does your doctor have an after care plan included in your package price? Since you are self pay, I would make sure that you adhere 100% to the bandster rules so that you don't cause a slip. As for erosions, most doctors have upgraded the way they attach the band to the stomach.... (meaning they used to put a stitch over the buckle part, and now they don't) Your biggest concern (IMO) would be for you to make sure you don't vomit alot which is the leading cause of slips. I am not banded yet, so maybe a vetran will post their experience/advice. Good Luck and Congrats on your journey

Mine didn't have one.. so I had to call around... I think I'm due to take the 370 test tomorrow, because he said to allow 3 hours for the appointment and the first part is an interview.

I have to take a test tomorrow at the psychologists office... said the first half would be an interview and the second half a pencil test......I'm kind of freaking out about it now.... am I going to flunk????

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bumped my FSA to cover my outta pocket max, and it looks like it's about right.

I am NOT telling my boss.......... HE FREAKED when I took time off for my consult and kept asking me if I had an interview.... so when I told him I needed time off for appointments (tomorrow and next MOnday) he looked at me cockeyed (thinking I had 2nd and 3rd interviews) so I broke down and told him that I was meeting with a nutritionist.. (NOT telling him about the psych) OMG... it has been nonstop talking about NUTRITION!!! and my latest weight gain..... We are in a small department with adjoining offices so our only coworkers are each other.. he is 60+ and he truly thinks of me as a daughter..... HE IS NOT SUBTLE and basically a loveable pain in the ass..... I am taking PTO days to cover my time. I have told exactly ONE person here because she is a good friend, but I'm already regretting that one too. because she is now making excuses why SHE CANT DO IT.... (I told her today... HEY its not for everyone, but it IS FOR ME, I'm not trying to talk you into it) Good luck with whatever you decide.............. (OH and I will most likely tell people freely AFTER I have lost weight.. because I am HR and I truly want people to know they have the option with our insurance)
