Morning LD!!!! I did get a call from bcbs yesterday saying that they were trying to find out where the typo came from.. apparently on the FSA system it shows the right dates, turns out they may end up doing a complete audit of the system to see if it is glitch.... No word from the surgeons scheduler yet.... I am waiting as patiently as I can.. WHAT IS YOUR NEWS!!!! I CAN NOT WAIT TIL THE 15TH!!!!!

Mine went with me to the seminar..... but other than that he has no clue. For instance last night at the grocery, I was looking at the carb counts on various items, and he huffed and puffed and said.. "I thought we didn't have to worry about that anymore???" Also.... Don't be the food police.

Glogirl: Well that's what SUBS are for! I've been on the farewell to food tour for the last month and I can sure tell! (NOT GOOD) My final meal will be at a local Italian Place that has THE BEST bread/oil combo....

I think someone said the cash price for lapband is $10,500 Here is their link: http://www.tallgrasstopeka.com/whatsnew.html edited: I just called them and talked to a person named Jill at the Surgery Center. Over the phone she quoted me: Facility: $7800.00 Physician: $3300.00 Anesthesia: $ 825.00 Fills: $FREE ________ $11,925 (Still better than those local in KC) When I questioned her about insurance and preop blood work she transfered me up to the business office and they were at lunch so I didn't leave a message.

I live in Kansas, reasearching banding NOW WHAT?
TracyinKS replied to TracyinKS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks for the info... It has BEEN MONTHS since I looked at this thread! I had no idea Tallgrass was so inexpensive! I may have to refer my mom to them. Since I started this thread, I progressed pretty fast considering our new insurance kicked in Jan 2007...... Topeka is just a hop skip and a jump for me (and her) -

I hardly ever look at this thread, but for all that come later..... The month of January 2007 flew by... and I started with consult on Jan 6th and by Jan 30th I had the official approval from my insurance. Now I'm just waiting for a date! -

Just got this from my contact.... Tracy, I sent this over to my manager after we talked this morning for him to forward to the correct person in the HRA department. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we will get it to the correct person so they can resolve it for you. Hope you have a great day. Stephanie Oh and I might add that she said they will most likely do an audit on everyone just to make sure there isn't a glitch in the system

I think some have said it is because of the swelling going down.. but I'm sure a VETRAN will post why...

Congrats!!!!!!!

Lee: Just a warning... please don't set yourself up for failure.... average is 2-3 pounds a week... NOT GUARANTEED... everyone is different, and YOU WILL hit plateaus. Your comment to Bandiva was a little uncalled for, and I'm glad you apologized.. The written word sometimes comes off in the wrong context, we are ALL on a journey.. and a hard one. Like Ambrosia, it I averaged .5 a week...... well that IS a loss and a SUCCESS... and the REAL victory for all of us will be maintaining the loss. Now back to the thread subject.......... :rose: Carol.. you will be able to ride fine and riding trips will be all the better! After 5 weeks you will be healed. I have a girl friend who had the bypass in June and then rode to sturgis in August (from Kansas) She is a riding fool, lives and breathes Motorcycle Rights....... She's already IM'ng me saying GIRLS TRIP! GIRLS TRIP! LOL ... so anyway... the bypass is much more invasive so YOU WILL BE FINE FOR SPRING! Packing Protein in your saddlebags, drinking your Water at gas stops, when on long road trips I always turn my tbag around and use it as a backrest, I ALWAY take my own pillow and I usually bungee it to the front of the Tbag so that I can rest my back on it... moving it where support is needed after a long day in the saddle...... Also, I have forward controls so my legs are stretched out.. get used to different leg positions... I often use my passenger pegs to put my legs on for a different stretch and standing up at stop lights helps stretch out the old booty..... man all this bike talk is making me wish is was warmer outside! Oh and my bike is a 2000 FXST Softail Standard..... Sunblock on your nose and ears are MANDATORY! Chapstick for your lips... and keep yer mouth shut especially when the bugs are out! LOL BANDED BIKERS UNITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! p.s. RANDY.... did you do the entire Run for the WALL? That IS quite a ride... our local ABATE always does the lunchstop on I-70 in Kansas City.

MustangElf: I empathize with your situation, but truly look at the silver lining. You have lost 22 lbs and kept it off... isn't that better than gaining 22+ ? For me I look forward to being satisfied after a few bites.... I PRAY for it, but that is me, and I've been doing a lot of internal "work" because I also know that I will be breaking up with my best friend.. food.... I've also been working on the small bites and chew, chew, chewing.. I eat way to fast and that is going to be a BIG habbit to break. Everyone is different, everyone has different expectations so I can NOT speak for what yours were pre-banding. I would suggest you call your company EAP (Employee Assistance Plan) and talk to someone about your eating issues.... (ours offers 6 free sessions to employees and their families, per issue) its confidential and FREE. What ever you decide know that I wish you luck on your continued journey. :rose:
