ooooooohhhhhhhhhh you know... I'm doing ok....... (SCREAMING LIKE A WILD HAIRED BANCHEEE!) LOL I just found out last night that dbf has been asked to be best man at an old friends wedding in July, and it is smack dab in the middle of the SMALL town where he and his exwife went to high school and lived .. (she still lives there, and she is fine.. but the REST OF THE TOWN will be eyeballing me!!!!!!!) They were well known because he was the fire chief when they divorced....... So I am under pressure (from myself) to loose as much weight as I can before it rolls around.

char & barb: thanks!!! I'm sitting here at my desk trying to find them... I have deep rolling collapsing viens....... do I really have this point?????

Read, Read, Read this entire site.. LBT is so great... cause all of us were newbies at one time and we've ALL asked these same questions. 1. Insurance or Self Pay 2. Find a surgeon and attend a seminar (even if you go somewhere else) 3. Some people can get the band paid for with as little as a hospital co-pay, some pay upwards of 20K. Self Pay could be as low as a 10K in Denver to around 8K in Mexico... other euopean countries even offer a better price. Surgery is typically 45 minutes to and hour.. depending on your situation. Some have it done on an outpatient basis, and some (like me) are required by insurance to stay over night. I'm having my surgery on a Thursday and returning to work (desk job) the following Monday, however you will be in a healing process for 5 weeks. Hope this helps.

I just added you Hope! congrats! Mirissa: WOW, I had no idea about your mom! Giver her our best... glad her situation is not band related, but it is still scarey.. I mean heck.. It's YOUR MOM!! You sound like your doing great though.... Everyone else: I'm so proud of you.. I can NOT wait to join you in bandland!!! (6 weeks from yesterday)

Sheila: OK.. hun.. I'm 37 and this is the way I put it to my dad and step mom.. who DO NOT HAVE A CLUE what it is like to battle weight. (Both were on the phone) I said, "I have something to tell you guys, and it is for INFORMATIONAL purposes ONLY, and IS NOT up for discussion or debate......" They kind of laughed but knew I was serious, and they both congratulated me on the decision. With my mom and step dad it was a little different because they BOTH NEED this surgery! They were more excited for me, but skeptical and a little apprehensive with discussing it with me because they felt like I was twisting their arm to have it done.. my mom flat out said that she would wait for me to have it and see how I do. My step dad said that he doesn't want to have any more surgeries.. (he's had back problems) My skinny sis is excited and ready to take an ad out in the paper, but her best friend was questioning it (which is her nature) Hell, even my buds over on Low Carb Friends are mostly against WLS in any form, but they are supporting me......... what it comes down to is this.... WE are responsible for our own weightloss journey... NO one else has to walk in our shoes with puffy swollen ankles, or squeeze their butts into our underwear... WE are the ones who make the decision, and it will be US next year on this board strutting our new smaller bods and encouraging the APRIL 08 bandsters! I know you love your mom, and she loves you too... but remember she is human and she is your mom.... doesn't exactly make her an expert on wearing your underwear........... -
Anyone ever heard of VanHardens Gluten Free Pizza?
TracyinKS posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was just listening to my radio and they were doing an interview with some guy named VanHarden, I guess he is a big radio personality in his own rite... Anyway, he has invented a 3 cheese crust pizza that has no bread and HyVee stores sell it? I also posted this on another message board, to see if anyone has tried it or heck, even heard of it. http://www.vanharden.com/pizza/story.html -

My good friend had the same thing done a few weeks ago, and I can only imagine if that is what she looked like.... I gotta tell you I look like your before pics, so it is really easy for me to visualize myself in your shoes. I can't wait to see the result after the swelling goes down. oh.. yeah.. and I love the tats! -

I WILL BE BANDED by now!!!!!!! My surgery is at 7:30 a.m. and I have to be at the hospital by 6:00 a.m. How's everyone today? -
Some of the same people you are seeing is the actual ads for the LapBand product.... I've noticed the more polished looking pics are used by many practices and commericals.

it takes a while for your swelling from the c-section incision to go down... I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but the c-section is a major surgery... since they in a sense.. "moved your guts around to delilver" Best advice would be to call your LapBand doctor and ask.
