One more day.. and we made it through our anniversary month! I over did it today on the moving around..... dbf got really irritated with me, but I wanted the house clean for my dad and step mom when they dropped off my son..... I did some laundry and but what really got me was mopping the floors (I have hardwoods) I ended up taking 1/2 dose of my meds and took a 3 hour nap. I can go to mushies today like adorable.... but I've been a little scared too. I've only been getting about 300-500 calories and am totally freaked out by that..... my stomach is starting to rumble and my gas has been coming out more frequently.. had to take my first gasX strip before my shower a few minutes ago..... I've only been eating tomato soup thinned out with calorie countdown milk, isopure water, and water... coffee in the mornings (about half cup) and right now I have my first glass of ice tea.. (hint.. I added a bit of SF french vanilla syrup to the ice tea and it is suprisingly sweet and good. My one splurge today was to eat a sf pudding thinned down with chocolate calorie countdown... to the point of chocolate soup.. it really hit my sweet spot. I will say that I gained 3 pounds of fluid at the hospital but today I weighed in the same as I did before surgery... 253.2....... I would love it if I could lose a pound a day like the rest of you.. even if it only lasted a couple weeks...... OK.. time to sign off.. my son is now home and he wants to look at my boo-boos....... LOL oh.. and the duct tape comment Teachlady cracked me up, because my oldest neice just went to prom last night and she ductaped her belly !!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!! that is hilarious. Talk to you later.

House Huntress... how long til the hunger settled back in? I am amazed that I am not hungry at all........ I wish it could stay like this. My doc says first fill in 5 weeks..... so looks like June 1st for me.

Hello all!!!! I just wanted to peek in and let you know that soon you all will be starting your month countdown!!! I am 2 days post op and I am feeling pretty dang good.... I waited so long.... and now it is almost surreal that I'm on the other side! I will tell you, as soon as you can get up out of your hospital bed and walk to the bathroom.... I was never really told to do this other than on this board, and the nurses I dealt with really weren't that familiar with the lap band so it was me who told them I needed to get up and walk. I had to ask for them to unhook those leg inflator things so that I could get up and pee.. she asked me if I wanted a bedside camode and I said NO.. I NEED TO WALK... and then I had them show me what to do when I wanted to walk around the floor......... I swear I felt like a circus performer because everyone seemed shocked....... but out of the 3 patients banded on the same day as me.. I seemed to be the one getting around the best.. and I never saw eigther of them walking..... I really pushed myself to walk because it helped after my c-section and it helped this time. I go back to work on monday... (but I have a desk job) I feel pretty good... I'll be lurking on this thread enjoying all your excitement as the month progresses! GOOD LUCK!

Good Evening all! I have been taking it easy, although we did go visit dfs sister today.. but it was relaxing sitting out on their deck in the warm sunshine. I was a bit pooped when we got home earlier this afternoon, but after I released some gas I felt quite a bit better and scanned in my pics.. I just posted belly shots over on the scar stages thread and I enclosed a link to my BAND shots. (I think I was the first one to request the pics from my doc because he was suprised and thought it was hilarious) DBF didn't know I did it since it was in the operating room right before I went out.. so when the doc handed them to him.. dbf just shook his head and said... BELLY SHOT! My port is not actually under an incision site it is under the skin between the two larger incisions. I was suprised when my doctor pointed this out to me... Note I just took off the bandaids and shrink wrap so, I have some welts. Here is a link to the pics of my actual band! that sounds yummy jennifur.... I REALLY need to get in the shower!!!! I am so glad to read that everyone is doing so well! I'm kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop, but hopefully I will be like a lot of you and sail right through it........ Yesterday I did push myself to walk AND do that breathing machine that Terri talked about.. those two things have really helped........ and the burping and farting were such a suprise relief! LOL

LOL!!!!!!! Teach: DBF got a good belly laugh when I read aloud your post! SEEEEE now he knows I'm not the only one addicted to this site. I had my nap and I actually laid on my side.... (I'm a side sleeper) I had the rest of my soup and did take a dose of medicine. I'm getting ready to take a shower. I will tell you that I am going to have to slow down on the slurping.. I had a burning full sensation with my soup...... didn't really feel stuck.. just a UHHH OHHHH I'm done... the mental training begins! Phone has started ringing.

I'm going to eat a bit of soup and lay down......... Later I will scan in the pics of my band and my scar stages photo for posting to the appropriate threads.... thanks guys all your positive thoughts are the reason I had a good go of it! NOW its time to relax... Oh and if I go to the movies.. it will be here in town.... which means that the theater will be nearly empty and I'm taking my pillow... we want to see "wild hogs" and it is still playing... sweat pants, ponytail, and pillow!

I'm in BANDLAND!!!!!!!!!!!! It is a bit surreal, but I'm here. I just walked in the door and dbf literally took everything out of my hands and said.. GO POST! LOL I had a pretty easy time of it.. I did wake up yesterday about 9:15 a.m. feeling like someone had a party on my tummy, but by 10:00 a.m. I was in my room and with my first dose of pain meds I slept til 3:00 pm I felt good enough to get up and walk around, but I had to have the nurses unhook my leg wraps from the machine..... they were amazed that I was getting my self to the bathroom and even more amazed when dbf got there and we made a lap around the floor.... I'm not going to lie.. my shoulder hurt most of the evening and my stomach is sore..... but I got a look of disbelief when I refused my 6:00 p.m. meds so that I could stay awake to watch my shows! LOL The doc made his rounds around 7:40 p.m. and couldn't believe I refused my meds so he added some pain meds "as needed"........... I did take a dose of morphiene about 10:30, I did have a slight tempt 99.7, and at 2:00 a.m. I woke up hurting and asked for some meds... I was up by 6:00 a.m. and feeling pretty chipper, waiting for my barium swallow... all the nurses that were on the floor were freaking out how well I was getting around.... I asked my doc for pictures and he got them for me. and this morning I had the radiologist turn the screen to face me so I could watch the barium flow through.......... there were 3 of us that got banded yesterday and I seemed to be feeling the best.... I almost felt guilty about it, almost... but I never saw either of them walking the halls or getting regular clothes on... so once again.. this board helped me prepare better than those who didn't know any better. I was out of the hospital by 9:00 a.m......... and we stopped at Walmart to pick up my liquid pain meds, we actually walked around for the 30 minutes it took to fill it.. and I am a bit pooped right now. I'm drinking some water and soon I get to go have some tomato soup with milk... full liquids til MOnday then I can have thicker puddings and yogurt.... If I feel like it we are going to the movies tonight...... I hope everyone had as good as luck as me, and we will see what the night brings!!!!!! oh and the firt cup of coffee at the hospital was DIVINE!!!! although it was tiny cup and I was "full" after half of it!

Morning all! I'm getting ready to wake up my little man and get him dressed. (He has to go with us to the hospital, since daycare doesn't open til 7:00 a.m.) Dbf just laughed at me and shook his head no, when I asked him to post for me later today......... so, unless I can find an internet connection for patient use at the hosptial, I will be posting tomorrow afternoon! Thanks so much EVERYONE....... BANDLAND HERE I COME!!!!!

Horns: Don't sweat it.... sometimes we lose in cycles.. last week you lost pounds, this week you may of lost inches.... it does take a bit for your body to catchup with itself....... Have a great day!

I am here at home sipping on my chicken broth........... Nothing after midnight tonight...... today has been somewhat annoying because I couldn't even have a protien shake today... just water, isopure, sf jello, and now my second cup of broth........ did I ever think that much food would be ok??? NO.......... DBF orded a taco pizza tonight DELIVERED, size LARGE!!!!!! (why did he order a LARGE, when he doesn't eat leftovers) to torment me.......... naw.. not on purpose.. but dam.... I go in to heat up my canned broth and there is a luscious looking taco pizza sitting there... I slammed the lid shut and flipped it off! (Yes I really did!) I AM ON THE HOME STRETCH NOW BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bag packed, jewelry off, eyebrows plucked, coldcream ON......... I AM READY! I will try to post, and I will try to leave this board up so that dbf can post for me tomorrow night....... (he's coming home while I stay the night) Thank you my APRIL 07 BUDS and ESPECIALLY to ALL the April 06'rs who pop in and check on us........... KAT! Thank you woman!!!!!! LBT and LCF board friends have been sending me private messages all day, and posting nice, nice, nice things…….. AWWWWWEEEEEE I feel special, and I’ve managed to only tell my best work bud here at work.. not even my boss knows…….. HOLY CRAP its finally my turn...... (how many times can I say holy crap in one day...... )

Doctors are human, and have bias too........ get another opinion. My doc blatantly says he never liked the RNY procedure.. he explains all 4 WLS's in his seminar, but he does the Band almost exclusively.

Ditto Here!!!! I can be a good bandster.. I know I can.... but what happens down the road when I'm 60 lbs down... looking and feeling good.. and that pizza looks gooooooooood... (that's where the old me would go off plan and start the spiral back up the scale)

Kim: I don't know if this will help but it could be the fact that your 35.... When I turned 35 for some UNKNOWN reason mascara makes my eyes swell, and I have had to switch foundations to Clinque.. or else I break out.. I can wear Clinique eyeshadow but very, very, very little mascara... and most days I don't wear it at all... only special occassions...... this was the WEIRDEST THING.....
