From my band twin Denise.. (Adorable)

My doc said that because air bubbles do tend to get into the tubing, the 1-2 week time (and us moving around) gives the Fluid that they inject time to redistribute itself fully into the band through all of the possible air bubbles...makes a little sense to me...I'd be interested in hearing other possible reasons!

I did finally eat my salad about 12:30.... well.. HALF my salad, waited for a little over an hour before I took a drink of water and right now I am down right FULL! So today, I've had about 1/2 a porksteak and around 1.5 cups of loosely packed salad.... (2 hb eggs, 5 small grape tomatoes and shredded cheddar) THIS IS IT FOLKS! This MUST be restriction. (oh and 1/2 a bite size scone)........... speaking of which did you know that 3 bite size scones are 260 calories! HOLY crap.. they are tiny... so half way through mine I gave it to my son.... Trying to follow the bandster rules like Judy! So far -
Thanks TravelGirl! BTW I tried calling my doc again and again good ol voicemail

TracyinKS replied to anon's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
thanks for this thread! I had my first fill 6/4/07 and I'm wondering WHY everyone says it may take 1 or 2 weeks to feel restriction. I'm going to call my docs office now. -

Hello Violets! I went ahead and ate a tad bit of pork steak for breakfast (around 9:30 a.m) Now it is 12:00p and I'm still pretty full.. my brain is saying......... TRACY its PAST TIME FOR LUNCH! (I'm trying to ignore it and see how long I can hold out for my salad) Also... does anyone know WHY it may take 1 or 2 weeks to feel restriction? Does it take that long for the saline to settle in the band or what???? I may go to the support page and do a search.... Have a great rest of the day.. I'll be back. -

GOOD MORNING ALL!!!!!!!!!!! TGIF! I am down .2 of a pound and I AM CLAIMING IT! I fixed a salad for today's lunch..... 2 hb eggs, shredded cheese, cherry tomatoes and green leaf lettuce...... w/ranch. We shall see how it goes, and if it sustains me. Kat: Congrats on the court win! The last cs from my sons bio, I recieved was in April $12.53, but I don't care.... if the arrest warrants keep him away then I'm good. We saw him painting a church two weeks ago, his back was to us, but I swear he looked like he'd lost 100'lbs... a Sturgis Shirt that I bought him YEARS ago was on his back and it was a 3x that his belly stuck out the bottom....... (he USED to be 6'7" and near 400 lbs).. carrying most in his gut..... anyway this same shirt literally HUNG off his shoulders.... I had to do a double take to make sure it was him and dbf confirmed it........ The woman he has been with since I kicked him to the curb 3 years ago is apparently a known druggie and I guess it must be true.. DBF joked... "Hey maybe he got banded!" LOL............ I said "yeah right... and maybe he joined weight watchers too! Does crack have a points value?" and no the boys weren't in the truck with us.. so I could be a smart ass. Ok... I gotta get some work done........ Judy: I will try to follow the bandster rules! :girl_hug: -

Good evening Violets! MsJen: Good to see you around again! Jane: WE WISH!!!!!!! Judy: You are rocking and rolling this season! TracyK: So what your saying is that you have AWESOME legs and a tiny butt! Whooooooooooohooooooooooooo! Me.... I carry weight ALLLLLLLLL over.. balanced I guess... but I swear it would be nice if so much of it didn't rest in my BatWings! the only way I'll ever be comfortable in tank tops is to have surgery.. (even WITH the scar it would be better than the massive amount of skin I'm sure to have) I definately have some restriction..... tonight I ate a grilled cheeseburger.. it tasted SOOOOOOOO good, but I got full before my WANT for the taste subsided... The way I explained it to dbf is ... my stomach is full, but right back here (pointing to the back of my cheek) I still had a taste tingle that wanted more.. Does this sound even remotely familiar to aNYONE.. or am I just a freak?... ok.. maybe.. don't answer that one........... I knew that if I ate one more bite, I would pb it.... I even went so far as taking another bite before I put all the leftovers in the fridge and I KNEW that if I swallowed it.. I would be a gonner........ so I spit it out..... I did wait ONE hour to have a drink of tea... and overall I am proud of myself. In the old days I would of had 2 burgers w/bun, the beans, the chips, and the icecream w/brownie.......... but I didn't... I had 1 1/3 burger and 1.5 tablespoon of baked beans.... YAY ME! -

Lap-band and your significant other

Sometimes the ones who sabotage us the most are the ones closest to us. Just know that the problem is HIS insecurity with the issue not yours. I can't even imagine being 105 lbs.. so maybe it was more the fact that you may have looked too thin and he was worried you were becoming aneorexic or something... I don't know. Do what your doc says, after all that is why he makes the big bucks! -
Great Question! Thanks for answering Julie!

GOOD MORNING VIOLETS!!!!!!!!!!!! I am down inching ever closer to the 230's.. I had really wanted to be in the 230's by June 1, but oh well............ it's not a race.. its a life change.. (that is what I keep telling myself) Jennifur: Good luck on the job hunt today. I think taking a bar cert could be good, but you won't be able to drink at work which is also good.. and I know that if you pick the right place to tend bar you can make a killing! We are having a big wind storm today and my electricity went off while I was in the shower....... it is still off..... but I'm at work.... NO HAIR DRYER, NO COFFEE, NO MORNING NEWS.. my entire routine is shot!!!!! The only good thing is that the scale went down.... so I'll take it. -

My personal experience with losing weight in general is that the weeks you don't lose pounds you lose inches. Takes a bit for one to catch up with the other. 7 pounds in a week is AWESOME, and could be your entire month of loss with no problem.. (going with the 1-3 pound a week average) -

TracyK.. YOU ARE GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can see a big difference! Yes the pork steak went down ok... it was super duper tender in the crock pot with ranch dressing cooked all over it (was going to bake it, but I opted for the crock when I was home at lunch) I was full pretty quick but hungry a couple hours later so I had a few strawberries and vanilla icecream.. (just a little was enough to tide my sweet tooth) -
this is going to sound weird but grab your belly and shake it.... shake it up and then walk it out.... also go do a search for the petho postion by babygotback... I don't see her here much anymore, but she had a very good technique..... GOOD LUCK>..... shake baby shake!

Should I be able to feel Port outside skin?
TracyinKS replied to sweet_thang0792's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I felt mine the first time about two weeks after surgery....... its not where I thought it was, so I was suprised......... I think it is cool.. if it ever gets to the point that it is scaring small children I will have a low profile port installed in its place. -
I'm skipping 2 pages of posts just to say......... HELLO THERE! I mainly post on the shrinking violets thread in the general discussion boards........ COME ON OVER WE ARE A BUNCH OF BIGMOUTHS! LOL I think the main this is to just jump in and post....... I will admit that before surgery I DEVOURED each and every thread, and now that I'm IN IT I don't as much.... I just had my first fill on Monday June 4, so thats where I am in my journey... and CHICKIE.................. I do like your posts and your pics are SOOOOO inspirational, but I don't like exercise, BUT I KNOW I WILL LEARN TO LIKE IT EVENTUALLY LOL My advice to all people in this same situation.. is just to POST, POST, POST!
