Thanks Wishfull and Bigsis......I'm really suprised I never thought I'd do this well. I have to say that I have noticed that I am begining to get hungry now, which has'nt really been a problem since the band was put in place. I bet the weight loss will start to slow down now, which is disapointing but I knew it would happen some time.

Hi Everyone.......Thanks for your good wishes. SP..The hospital was Truro (Trelisk Hospital)....Never Ever go there...If your in Cornwall try to go to Derriford Hospital nr Plymouth its got to be better. But I'm all well now. Carriejess.......Well done on reaching your goal..FANTASTIC I need to put something straight. When I said I had lost 3 stone...that was 1.5 stone on the pre op diet which lasted about 2 months and 2.5 after surgery. I'm pleased to say I'm down another stone now so thats 4 stone in all. I'm really pleased with the weight loss so far, although I need to arrange my first fill. Sadly no-one has noticed that I've lost weight, but they should see a difference soon!!!!! I hope. Hi All. Wow what a lot of new people Welcome Everyone. Well just come back from a disasterous holiday in cornwall. I arrived on the sunday and went shopping on monday morning, when we got back I has a slimfast for lunch (think I drank it too quickly) almost straight away I was suffering with wind, it got worse and worse and eventually the pain was so bad by 4 am we had to call an ambulance, I thought the band must have slipped the pain was soooo bad. After three nights in the dirtiest hospital I think there is in England they gave me a CT scan and said that I had a build up of blood around my port. Bye Bye now go home. I'd been on morphine for the three days and they sent me home with paracetmol. Well turned out for the best because the pan eased at home. I've now had a taste of how some doctors feel about us who resort to going abroad for surgery. At one point he came and said 'oh your still here, I thought if I ignored you youd go away' NICE MAN!!!!!!! Then my husband became ill. Cant miss out on anything!!!! Ah I'm being cruel. Well glad to be back. Freckles the nursery is beautiful (not sure if I've already told you that. Well done to all of you losers...........I've now lost 3 stone 3lb since the start of thi journey. Shell.......Hope your well, on my way to ring you now. Take Care Jackie

Thanks for the good wishes I feel fine today. Had a weight watchers fish pie for tea last night without any problems afterwards. Take Care Jackie

Hi SJS When you leave the hospital they give you some painkillers, anti sickness tablets and the injections. you have to tave 5 days of injections. The nurses show you what to do, They dont hurt at all and I have to say I dont like needles and never thought I would be able to do them myself but it was fine...........As for the wedding you will still be sore mainly from the port wound, but if you take it easy and dont hog the dance floor you'll b ok:rolleyes2:. How are you going to manage to not eat anything, because you will still be on liquids only? I was bande on the 7th August about 10 days ago and now I feel great. Hope this answers you questions Jackie

Hi Westie Galatea and Freckles.......... Well I survived the worst night ever!!!! I eventually fell asleep about 3am after taking another windeze. OMG I have never experienced anything like that before (and I dont want to again). Taking Freckles advice and not eating late, although I had my tea at 6ish. 'm going to get a suppy of peppermint just incase. Strange though it didnt come on until I got into bed, then I felt a bit sick and the rest ishistory. One good thing has come out f it, its put me off of eating. Its gone now, I just feel shattered. Take Care Jackie

Had my stitches out today, it was totally painless, but it feels stange not to have any dressing on. Going on mushies on wednesday...I cant tell you how much I'm looking forward to some cauliflower cheese, I've been waiting for this ever since I read one of the posts on there mention it. If anyone has some god ideas as what to eat while on mushies please can you share some with me. Dont think I'll lose much weight if I just eat scrambled eggs and cauliflower cheese!!!! Shell......How was it for you today at the docs, getting your stitches out? Carriejess..... your beautiful and I agree with everything Freckles has said. Everything happens for a reason, Mr right is out there somewhere, and you'll find him when you least expect to. C A........Dont get too disheartened, youll get through this blip, everyone keeps saying how tempermental these bands are. Hopefully your next fill will be more successful..fingers crossed Take care everyone:wink: Jackie

Hi SingingParrot..........I was banded on he 7th and even in the theatre before they put me to sleep I thought 'Shall I just get off of the table now an walk away' I cant tell you how pleased I am that I went through with the band. Yesterday was the first day that I didnt take any pain killers at all. Thats exactly a week atfer the op, I thought I would be taking them for weeks. Its a great idea gong away straight after, I had to tell my kids when I got hom because I had to wear the lovely white socks for 5 days and I had bruises over my arms. Dont be alarmed I alays bruise when I have blood taken. You'll be fine and I expect you will meet some really nice people in Brussels, I did and were all keeping in touch and having a reunion next august/sept. Take Care Jackie

Hi Shell I will have to ring the doctors on Monday and get an appointment to have my stitches out. I'm seeing the nurse on Wednesday so I hoping she will be able to do it.then. Weight lose since bookin the op was 1 Stone 6lb on he week we were banded. I've now lost a further 10lb since the op. Which I'm really pleased with. ....Mind I am begining to get hungry, although I've worked out If I dont eat enough, then I'm starving the nerxt day. Like today. Yesterday I has an actimel plus 2 crispbreads with primula for breakfast, then lunch was 2 crispbreads, and tea was half a bowl of soup with yes youve guessed it more crispbread. Got to go the twins are here and there in he garden own there own. catch up later Jackie

Shellangel.........SHOW Frank your wounds.....plus you have shingles....its the bending thats really painful for me-the port wound. How about you. I have been out the last two days shopping and I think overdone the getting in and out of cars. Staying in today for a rest and probably a bit of housework....I am begining to feel hungry......Ive resorted to the crispbreads they gave us in hospital with Primula cheese spread, i think they should be ok, they have no probs going down. I will ring you soon with Karen and Alans contacts. Thanks everyone for alltegood wishes.........the pain is easing day by day. Freckles and Odge.....nice to see you Garry....I'm gld it was only a repair........there was a girl there at the same time as us having the same trouble, she had been banded 5 years ago and lookd great but she said the she had put on two stone since the problem occured. Its good that they got yours sorted really quickly. Take Care everyone Jackie

Thanks mmm.... thats really useful.... I'll pm you if I want the phone numbers. I dont know what to do. The spire in bristol is 5 mins away from my office and very convienient but I would prefer to stay with ecfs, the main reason being if anything did go wrong as it did with Garry they would sort it (hopefully without much cost). The other thing that gets my goat is: the team at the Spire are the same NHS team (Avon Obesity Team) that turned me down when my doctor referred me for the op on the NHS............Ooh:cursing: Take Care Jackie

Forgot to say......When I was out in Belgium Freddie dropped a bombshell to me. He told me they were moving clinics and shutting the one in Bristol. Wow I felt annoyed because I work full time and having somewhere within a couple of miles was a real bonus to me it was a major factor when deciding to get the proceedure done. I know that a lot of you travel miles to get fills but when you work in education taking time off is really shunned upon and I dont think they would allow it because I self funded the op. I have contacted the Spire but they charge £198 initial visit and then £140 per fill and £110 for a defill. Homecare.....was it you that went to the Spire in Cardiff for a fill. Did they charge the same? Would you recommend them? I'm a bit stuck now because I need somewhere that I can pop into between appointments, am I right in understandig a fill takes about 20 mins. I wish I could go to WLS but they dont come to Bristol either. Thanks Jackie

Good Morning Everyone.............I'm sat here reading all of your achievements and its all such good news........The strange thing is ..altough I thiink I can already see some weight coming off I cant ever imagine posting that I've been shopping and bought a size 16. Thats not because I dont think that I will manage to lose the weight I suppose its a bit like a dream to me. All I've ever wanted is to walk into a 'normal' shop and buy clothes, instead of the outsize frumpy shops that I have spent a lifetime shopping in. Actually I was a 16 when I first went into Evans, but it was 16 years old. Good Luck Garry and all whos out there today. BoBo....Your pictures are great...Well Done You Wishfull..........The weight will start moving agin soon, but wow a 16 thats fantastic. Shellangel........I loved meeting you..look after yourself....Karen and Alan said they will come to our reunion next year in Scotland!!!! Take Care everyone Jackie:smile2:

Hi Starsky The hotel is very clean but basic, a bit like a travel lodge, the staff are great, very friendly. Fred and Dr Chris were a lot younger than I expected, both very nice people. I would strongly recommend ayone thinking of going should book the package with Fred, it seemed to be much cheaper and we were all staying in the same hotel so we could give each other support. Shellangel stayed in another hotel and I have to say I did worry about her being all on her own. If you can you should take someone with you. One of the other girls arrived on her own but then called her husband to drive over and pick her up, you do feel week after the op. We all said that we would have liked to of stayed another night in the hospital. I've never been in such a clean hospital before. No one should be worried about the level of care you receive its the best, the staff speak english, theres no MRSA o swine flu, they dont een wear gloves when there touching you. Over her thy dont look at you without a pair of gloves on. They give you all the medication you need. I think the worst thing is the feeling of the port inside you.Its uncomfortable and hurts when you bend or sit and then get up, but it is easing today, the other wounds dont hurt at all. Dr C said the port takes about 3 weeks to heal. The ps not so bad, I'd definately go through it again. :thumbup:Hope this answers your question. One question I have to anyone ........when does this b...dy gurgling stop. my stomache feels as though its having a party!!!!

There were six of us being banded last friday and they all went well. I'm sore now but that is only to be expected plus we had to wait around until 7.30 this evening for the flight home (not recommended) cant wait o get into my own bed. Tae care Jackie:wink:

Hi Toppings...........I've just got back from Brussels and wanted to let anyone who is going out there this week now that the nights were really hot, the hotel rooms are a little small and last night was awful. If you can, take a mozzi repeller for the room. I got bit several times..........Apart from that it sounds as though you have verything. I didnt use the windeeze (it came out on its own) Take care....the hospital is ab fab, its so clean you could eat off of the floors. Good luck everyone going out this week Jackie
