Hi Gillian.........at the mo my bmi is 58.8 and I have to get it down to 55. I'm just waiting to see if he will still book me in. The trouble is I'm short, I should of added a couple of inches to might hight and then it might of been ok. Mind I've just been to sainsburys feeling a bit depressed and I've bought a load of rubbish, some of it I have already tucked into (big pack of crisps)If Dr Chris says that he will go ahead and book the surgery that will give me all the incentive I need to lose the weight. Hi Sammy Glad to hear your feeling a bit better. I havent booked yet, hoping it will be august. I've e-mailed chris promising to lose the weight by them. I'm sure I can do it, my worry is that he wont book me in until I've lost the weight, then I have to keep it off which is what I find the hardest!!!:thumbup:

Oh my God........I'm devistated.......Just had an e-mail from Dr Chris saying that my BMI is too high for surgery. He said that I would have to lose 20kg. I've wrote back promising that I would lose the weight before the surgery. 20kg is easy to lose, its keeping it off for any lengh of time I find hard. I dont know what I will do if he wont book me in, I've now set my heart on this. I feel so sad:frown: Jackie

Thanks Gillian............I've just e-mailed Frederik and asked to be booked in for the 4th August, my mum has agreed to come with me. I think shes a bit worried about hanging around on her own while i'm in the hospital, but i told her to have a gook at this site and see that most people take others with them so she probably wont beon her own. Did anyone go to Brussels by eurostar. the flights are cheap but by the time you put all the charges on they go up and up. it would cost me about £400 whereas eurostar is about £100. I'm not tight but I have to what the pennies now as I'm using all of my savings for this. :mad2:

Wow..........I e-mailed Frederik about half an hour ago and he has got back to me already with prices and dates. Thats quick for yo isnt it:thumbup:. I,m going to book a tomorrow. My stomache is churning!!

Hi Homecare I too wanted to get banded in July, I have the summer off and return to work at the begining of Sept. I as also hoping I could have the op without having to let everyone at work know. Not that I am ashamed of it but there all really thin people and they just dont know what its like to be fat and fedup. I can almost hear them talking about me spending soo much money on an op when 'all I have to do is go on a diet' Ah well, we will get it done, I cant wait- I wish I could go now Jackie

Hi All .........Thanks for the warm welcome. Gary can you give me details of where to find the 'all in package'. I've had a look but cant seem to see it anywhere.:glare: .......I rang yesterday and might be able to get the surgery for the end of July. Dont really want to wait that long but I work for education and we're not allowed time off outside of school hols. I was interested to read about the Kelp tablets for hair loss, wonder if i would be worth taking them before the surgery!!! Jackie xx

Hi I'm thinking of getting banded and I feel really nervous about it. I suppose its the thought of going abroad for the surgery. Did anyone stay in Brussels or would you recommend staying closer to the hospital. Can you tell me if there were many extra costs (medical). I now Chris de Bruyne charges 3950 euros but appart from the travel and accomadation did you have to pay for anything else? Thanks Jackie
