Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
jackiem replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Welcome Deedee...........Its sounds pretty scary when you say you got food stuck, reading the posts it sounds as though most people suffer with it at some time or another. I'm keeping my band a secret from most people so I will have to come up with some really good explanations for some of the common symptoms, let alone a reason for not eating for the next ten days!!!! :tongue2: I'm flying out in the morning to get banded and so is Shellangel, hopefully we will meet at the hospital. This thread is great for all the info you'll need and everyone on here is so supportive. Best Wishes Jackie -

OMG Bev you poor thing...........Is funny how we can put a brave face on at the time but inside its killing us. My kids have missed out on soooo much because I wont even go to places like that. I'm ashamed to say it but I've never taken them swimming, ice skating or done any of the 'normal' things families do together. My god I'm going to make it up to them when I can (even though there teenagers now) its never to late to have fun!!! Just think you'll never see those fourty people again. Take Cae Jackie -

Hi Maysh I forgot to take the milk thistle tablets so I'm going to start now (better late than never) Trying to be good on the low fat diet but things are getting in the way... My stomache turn every time I think about thursday, I dont really like flying that much and I'm taking my mum with me which I hope isnt a mistake...we get on fine but I think I will worry about her being back at the hotel on her own. ..Its funny, when I booked the op she was the only person I could think of that would come with me. I'm sure all will be well.....I sound like I'm moaning, I'm not, just having a Peggy Panick moment:blushing: Take Care Jackie -

Hi Can anyone tell me what I should take to Belgium with me? I got painkillers and some dressings but should I take slimfast and cupasoup. If I should take slimfast did you take ready made or powder (I hate milk) I thought the ready made stuff might taste nicer!!! Any thoughts or suggestions welcome Jackie -

Hi Shellangel I'll listen out for the scottish accent and look for the angel wings!!!!..........You wont miss me with my west country accent. Hey with a bit of luck we'll be in the same hospital room. I'm sure someone said that they have four beds to a room. I think I would be like you if anyone tried to take that cash off of me (assuming I could catch them) they'd also be heading for a hospital bed............I got the milk thistle..its in the Holland and Barrett bag in the kitchen...going to take some now. >>I also go the arnica tablets to take. I suppose I should start taking them now as well. I got Anadin liquifast, Remegel and Zantac is there anything else I should be taking!!!!!!!! See you soon Jackie:ohmy: -

Hi Wishfull..........I agree with everything you say but I suppose some people are not always lucky enough to live close to one of Dr C clinics. Whats happened to Garry made my mind up to have fills in Bristol, but I hate travelling so that had a big part to play as well. Got to go shopping now Take Care Jackie -

Hi Maysh1........ I'm getting banded on the 7th August and the I'm finding the low fat diet really difficult. Dont know why because I've had to lose weight for Dr C to do the band and I've been really good (lost about 13kg). Now I'm finding that I want all those 'last time' meals!!!! Had a Greggs bake and a sausage roll on saturday. Every day I say I wll be god but something manages to creep into my mouth. Well, only gt two days to go untill I leave for Belgium:thumbup: It seems as though its been a long time coming. How are you doing with the diet, did Fred send you a diet to folow, I havent had any info about diet from him? Take Care Jackie -

Hi Everyone Well Im begining to get really nervous now, wondering if I'm doing the right thing. Feeling soooooooooo guilty about spending all of this money me, I could almost get a new kitchen!!! Pay for my son to have driving lessons and maybe a car, I could think of a hundred other things to spend the money on. I look at everything I'm eating and think ' this might be the last time I ever eat this, do I really need to do such a drastic thing. I know the answer is yes I do, if I didnt I wouldnt be in the situation in he first place. Then I worry that Dr Chris wont do the operation, what if he says I havent lost enough weight....he might send me home..empty handed as such. Sorry to rant but I'm keeping this a secret from everyone so theres nobody else to talk too, my hubby is so small he has no idea of what its like to be the fattest person around:crying: Knowing my luck I will be the only English person there next week. Gillian........Dont worry you will get through the hols with the kids, only another four weeks to go. My kids used to argue for most of the hols, but now their older they seem to be out most days and I'm home alone, (ITS Great most of the time:thumbup:) but I work with children and get all of the hols off, its strange but it does take some getting used to the peace and quiet!!!!!!! Freckles.........Sorry to hear your blocked.....Dont know what else to say apart from your post keep us smilling:lol: Take care everyone Jackie -

Garry Glad to see that you will be getting fixed soon, and it sounds as though the team are keen to solve the problem without too much cost to you. I was glad to see that you had quick replys from both Chris and Fred, its good to know that if things go wrong their willing to sort it out. Mind they should as its not your fault its leaking. Shame youre not going to Belgium this week, I will be going on thursday, getting banded on Friday. We could of had a few drinks the night before to calm my nerves. Its all getting frieghtning now :frown:. Oh is the chocolate shop easy to find!!!!:crying: Take Care Jackie -

Hi everyone. Not posted for ages but been checking in every so often to keep up to date with whats going on. I've been concentrating on losing weight for the op 7th August, so far I've lost 8kg. Took some advice from the lovely Garry and started some exercise, I now go swimming and aqua arobics every week which I really enjoy (never thought I would enjoy exercise) Just paid my deposit and e-mailed Fred, he replied straight away which was a surprise to me as I thought he would be on Holiday at the same time as CDB. Gillian--Congrats on loosing a fantastic 3 stone. I cant ever imagine fitting into a size 12 (I cant even remember fitting into a 12) Freckles--Glad your mum is up and about. Fingers crossed that she will be home soon:redface: Garry--Your such a lovely helpful person, I hope you get to resolve the problem your having with your band. As someone said you should be getting commision because I think youve inspired a lot of people. Welcome to all the newbies--we'll all be losers one day and posting our success:thumbup: :scared2:Sorry--OMG just noticed my ticker-- It hadnt really clicked that I'm going to Brussels two weeks today. I think about it every day although it still doesnt really seem real. Take Care Everyone Jackie xx -

Thanks Jo........I have a friend who is a Cambridge Diet consultant, I think I will give her a call. Also I will get some of that 'Milk thistle' sounds as though I could do with it. I dont think the anyone in the west country is enjoying the Weather. Here in Bristol is really bad, has been raining cats and dogs all day. Roll on the summer, we might get a few hours of sunshine!!!!!!!:rolleyes2: -

Hi Everyone....got my date for surgery on the 7th August.......Cant wait....apart from having to lose some weight first!!!! But the lovely Garry is going to help with with some info. I'll pm you tomorrow when its quieter here. I'm going to start on the Kelp for my hair, but in one of the post someone mentioned 'milk thistle' Whats that for!! I've never heard of it.....Someones going to write back and tell me its only for men or something like that and I'm going to look a proper fool. Freckles you'll know all about this milk thistle thingy. Gillian thanks for the advice, everyone on here has such kind things to say, I will go to the docs and ask for something to give me a boost with the weight loss. I am determined , having some 'last' meals this weekend then going for it from Monday.:scared2: This thread moves so quickly, its lovely to read about everyones success Congratulations to all you new banders, and all the interesting questions that I wouldnt even think of asking. I only wish I lived closer to Scotland, so I could come on this night out with Garry. Seems to me like most of us drink vodka, Its gonna be a fantastic night, I cant wait to read all about it. Anyone out there from the west country? Take care Jackie xx:smile2: -

Wow Dubai sounds good......Is it any more expensive for the surgery? I wonder if CDB does a package!!! I suppose you then have to book a holiday. I bet my mum would rather I took her there than go to Brussels. I think its beyond my budget though. How long does it take to fly to Dubai. I'm not that good on planes. But I am going to take Gillians advice and Fly to Brussels. The thought of all the changes on the train put me off, especially if I'm not feeling my best. Jackie -

Hi mmm.......Thanks for the advice. I tried the NHS but they said that I did not have severe co-morbidity problem eg. severe high blood pressure, apnia or diabeties so they refused me. Then I explored funding it myself. The same team (NHS) will do it privately but it costs £7.500. Good idea to see it the doctor will give me something like 'lighterlife'. I will pm Garry and ask him his advise as well. Can anyone explain to me how I private message someone!!! Jackie xx:mad2:
