I had my 3rd fill on Oct 26th, I did liquids for 5 days as requested by dr. I think also you might need a slight unfill.. I'm almost at my sweet spot.. I probably need another .5 or something like that.. I would call the dr to get back in just to be on the safe side, because you should be able to consume some food so you want be malnoursihed..

Wow.. u mean to tell me that didn't know that before the surgery date was scheduled? That is weird.. So you were actually operated on? or just put to sleep?

Hello, Sorry about your loss. I was also banded April 15th 09. I think you're still doing great, take it one day at a time. Do you think you need a fill? If so go in to see the dr. I'm down about 38lbs so you're doing great and it takes time everyone is different with their weight loss, I flucuate (misspell) I can't seem to break 250 lb.. But I'm going to keep exercising and working on it. Start back reading the post, I get a lot of inspiration from hearing from others. Hang in there and trust God...

Hang in there.. I understand how you feel it will be 7 months for me on Nov 15th and I've only lost about 38 lbs or so.. For the last 2 months I haven't lost anything.. thank God I didn't gain any.. I had my 3rd fill on Oct 26th. Lets encourage one another, it takes time, we didn't have gastric so everyone is different. Then I flip out when I read posts on here where people done lost 50 and 60 lbs by 6 months.. But I have to tell myself everyone is different.. Just know that you're not alone... I do know I cheat on sweets so that might be one of my issues.. I got the 100 calorie snack just in case I want something sweet.. the Lorna Doone just ate 1 about 10 minutes of go.. LOL...

Welcome. I was also banded in April of this year. Are you still getting your fills? I had my 3rd fill on Oct 26. I think you're doing great with your weight loss.. I'm struggling a little myself I've only lost about 38lbs, couldn't do much exercise the last 6 weeks due to having gallbladder removed, but I'm back at it now and look forward to loosing more weight... Stay focused and read the messages on here it really helps.. Be encouraged.

Hi, Halimc I have a friend whose band has slipped also, she just was informed about 4 months ago. Her dr took all the fluid out and told her to come back in about 6 to 8 weeks to see if it fixed itself. Unforuntaley she hasn't went back because she doesn't have insurance. She had the same symptons you have had, vomiting alot. I googled some time ago what happens when your band slips, and it did say that sometimes it fixs itself with removing all the fluid but most of the time you have to have surgery. I think you should go ahead and have it fixed or replaced at least that's what I would do in your situation. I was banded on 04/15/09 and so far so good. I hope everything works out for you keep us updated..

I think that is great.. I am also slowly loosing weight. I had my surgery April 15th and I'm just hitting 40 lbs. I guess everyones body is different, I did have another surgery though on 09/23/09 gallbladder removal and that slowed the process being that I wasn't able to exercise. Hang in there and be encouraged,in time we will reach our goal.

Hi guys I just had a fill on monday (26th) and my dr advised me of 5 days full liquids.. my stomach was very swollen afterwards, and sore for 2 days, it's just getting better not as sore. We have to be very careful with these fills like everyone else said take it slow try some soup or something.. this was my 3rd fill and I'm hoping I'm at my sweet spot.. (I dont' like fills) Banded 04/15/09

Hello, guys I'm just so excited and thrilled. I went on my lunch break to the mall to use my bath & body works coupon. After I left I went in to the store next to it which happen to be Learners.. I haven't been to Learners in over 9 yrs or so.. I was inquiring I wonder if I can wear there clothes now.. Needless to say I went in tried on a XL dress and an XL shirt. OMG!!! how happy I was, I can't even begin to explain the joy and happiness I felt. I end up purchasing both items.. I thank God for my band. I'm thankful for the pounds I've lost. It might not be a drastic weight loss but I thank God for the lbs I've lost. I'm looking forward to loosing more weight on this journey.. I wish I knew how to do a flip. I just wanted to share my joy with all my lap buddy friends. Banded 04/15/09 288lbs day before band 256 as of now. I'll take what I can get.

Hello, I had lap band done on April 15th 2009. Needless to say I had my gallbladder removed last month on Septmeber 23rd. I was experiencing serve pain.. and I thought it was gas, needless to say I end up in the er on on Sept 7 to find out I had gallstones.. I thought I was going to die when I had these attacks.. My surgeon who did my lapband is also a gastro dr and he removed my gallbladder with no problem, band is perfectly fine, just how he placed it. I was very comfortable with him doing the surgery becasue he had taken care of my so good doing the lapband procedure. I would have been terrified if another dr would have had to perform that procedure. I'm went for my follow up on October the 8th and everything is fine, and received my 3rd fill on yesterday Oct 26th. Everything will be fine. I pray for a successful surgery.

Good morning ladies I also had my 3rd fill on yesterday Oct 26th and my dr put .5 in mines also. I'm really sore in the port area I guess he tighten me pretty well.. it's a little bruise there, but I'll be ok. I'm back on full liquids for 5 days.. I will take imalukydog advise and take it really slow.. I pray that you will loosen up soon, try drinking something hot first thing in the morning.. Like hot coca or tea or coffee.. from what I read it on the forum it helps and it helped after my 2nd fill. I hadn't lost any weight between my 2nd fill and 3rd fill, but the dr also advised it might have been from my gallbladder sugery which was on sept 23rd and I might have access water/liquid in my body.. I told him any excuse is better than none... Lol.. thanks doc.. but I know I've been bad eating sweets I shouldn't. Hang in there guys everythign will work out for us.. Keep up the good work.

Congrats Julie.. you look awsome. Thanks for sharing what an encourgament.. I weighed 288 on surgery day April 15th 09.. I'm stuck at 255 and due to get my 3rd fill today... From reading your story I have hope again.. My goal is 190.. I'm 5"6. Keep up the good work...

I have also noticed I'm tighter in the morning. And I usually have a little coffee also to loosen things a bit if not coffee try some hot tea.. I don't like to do to much coffee because of the caffeine. I go to get my 3rd fill on Monday..kind of looking forward to it, but not ready to go back on all liquids.. looking forward to dropping some more weight.

Thanks for sharing your story.. That's awsome and I can relate to some of your normal things.. This band is truly a blessing to me.. I've had it for 6 months and I feel a 100% better. I have had serval test done since the lap band and like you they are normal.. I'm estatic and so happy for you and everyone who has lapband. It's a life changing event.. Keep up the good work.. this is truly an encouragment..

How long has it been since your surgery?? No thank God I haven't had that happen I'm 6 months out..wow you have to have surgery again. Pray everything goes well for you. Have you lost a lot of weight? maybe that's why it flipped it didn't have much to hold on to anymore. :thumbdown:

I was driving home from chick f lay after purchasing a chicken nuggest kids meal.. I guess the nugget went down wrong and I didn't have time to get out the car, I did it in the bag and throw the whole meal out.. LOL..

Wow, I think you need to take a stool softner so you'll be able to use the restroom, when I was on my liquids I still pooped it was just liquid (sorry guys), but percocet is known to back up bowels, and that's not cool. My dr advised me to get some Colace it's very good a little expensive but it helps or get some miralax powder. Trust me get something fast. As far as mushies go, I loved mash potatoes that helped me a lot, and yogurt and maybe some oatmel in the morning alone with a protein shake. Hope this helps.

Hello bandsters it's been a while since I've been here. I believe I last posted about a month ago, I was in a lot of pain due to gallstones and I needed to have surgery. Well surgery took place on September 23 and everything went well. I was a little scared being that I had been banded in April, but everything worked out. Don't have much of an appetite but I am trying to make sure I get my whey protein in. Hope everyones doing good.

Hello bandsters. I have found out I have gallstones. I had been having this terrible pain, unexplainable pain in my upper part of my stomach, radiating for like an 1hr to 2. I finally had, had enough and went to the ER.. I called my surgeon and he advised that I go. I didn't want to think it was anythign related to the band, and thankfully it wasn't. I had an x ray done of the abdomen and the dr said everything looked good with the band and port and all. Thank GOD. He then ordered an ultrasound of the gallbladder and there they found gallstones... I have been advised that I will have to have my gallbladder taken out.. Not to thrilled about having another surgery.. but I have no choice seems like.. Meet with the surgeon on Thursday to discuss.. I'm not sure if I already had this or if this occured since the surgery.. Anyone else have exeperienced this? Surgery date 04/15/09 First fill 06/15/09 2nd fill 08/10/09

Sounds like you've have a rough patch in your life. I pray all is well with the cancer and it's gone or in remisson. Keep your head up and don't be embrassed to go to the dr... Look at this as a 2nd chance, because things could have been different with cancer. I pray everything will work out for you. Be blessed.

Yes, Yes, finally someone is going through what I go through.. LMBO... OMG!! It's very annoying.. I hear the same thing, are you suppose to be eating that? and this and that... It makes so mad.. People are always watching... they don't need to watch me I'm grown.. I know what I'm suppose to do.. It makes u want to wait until everyone's gone and eat in piece.. Last nite I can't believe out of all people my husband did that.. I went and got 4 pringle potato chips.. Now I know I'm not suppose to have that, but I had been craving sour and cream potato chips... so I satisfied my self and got 4 pringles or sour and cream.. he looks at me as if I had, eaten the whole box and he's goes alright now.. I'm like what 4 pringles and you talking bout alright now.. give me a break.. we still have cravings.. Just because we have the lap band doesnt' mean that we don't have cravings for things.. come one people... I'm like I can't beleive this... I understand exactly where you're coming from... yes let's just continue to ignore them and the'll get the hint.. :thumbup: You're doing great keep up the good work..
