HI I am 2 days out today and am on liquids....but I wouldn't call them clear liquids. My doctor has me on protein drinks and broths and non chunky yogurts. Hi, I have just been cleared by my dietician and psychologist and doctor to have the sleeve surgery! I am so excited and will probably have the surgery at the end of the month. I have pretty much found the answers to all my questions from everyone here (thanks!)...but I do have one more.... It seems as though everyone on this site had the sleeve done in the past year. Is there anyone out there who has had the sleeve surgery over 2-3 years? I know it is a newer WLS but I would just like reassurance that the longterm results will hopefully be there. ( i am paying out of pocket and it is a huge investment for me) I have a friend who got the lap band and she is doing great. I have a feeling most problems with the lap band come after 1 year. I just hope this is not the case with the sleeve. So, non-rookies, if you are out there: Have you been able to maintain your weight? Do you have any issues you would like to discuss? Thanks!!

Hey Ya'll I am considering the sleeve and will most likely have it in July. I am so happy this forum exists, as so many of my questions have been answered. I have been very nervous about it since it is permanent. But, you are all so positive and helpful :lol0: I do have questions that I don't think has been answered yet: 1. I had my gallbladder removed about 5 years ago. Sometimes I randomly still feel the pains associated with gallstones, but my doctor said it was most likely acid reflux. Did anyone else experience this and do you think the sleeve would make the random pains worse? 2. I have job that is stressful and active (no heavy lifting though), when do you think I would feel back to 'normal'?? 3. Do the staples from the surgery stay inside you permanently? Thanks!!
