Joy, My doc says that as your weight decreases you also loose fat around your stomach where the band is, which causes the band to loosen over time between fills. That's why 4 or 5 weeks after a fill the restriction becomes less and you can eat a bit more than right after a fill. After say 6 months the fat between the band & stomach is gone so then you should be at the "sweet spot". The time of course will differ from person to person & to the amount of weight lost. Does that help any or make any sense? Good luck all - keep up the good work.

Good job!!!!!!!!! -
Yes I'm here - how much dairy do you eat? You might want to cut it down to 8oz of low fat milk daily & cut the calories down to 800. To loose weight one needs to burn more calories than you take in. Just a thought. Your weight loss is good. You might need another .5cc adjustment to get just a little more restriction. Good luck.

Try this: Go to http://www.tickerfactory.com/ and design your ticker ruler. After that copy the HTML code and paste it into your LAP-BAND® profile. Save this page in favorites for future weight loss updates. You will have to register at this site I think but every time you edit your current weight it will automatically update on your signature. To paste it click on view my bandster profile underneath your forum name. Then over on the right side click on Forum Profile, from there click on Customize Profile and then click on edit signature. This is where you put the code you had copied from ticker factory. Then save the signature. This is not as hard as it might sound. Good Luck :smile2: -
try some of these Chicken breast, 3.5 oz - 30 grams protein Hamburger patty, 4 oz – 28 grams protein Most fish fillets or steaks are about 22 grams of protein Fish, salmon, Atlantic 0.5 fillet = 39.40 g Tuna, 6 oz can - 40 grams of protein ground turkey, cooked (4 oz, raw) (yield after cooking) = 22.44 grams I make a smothee and use about a scoop & a 1/2 of stntha-6 = 33 grams of protein Add 1 cup soy milk = 7 grams Add 1 medium bananna = 1.29 grams and then add Peanut butter, 2 Tablespoons = 8 grams protein 59,29 total grams Check out this site: High Protein Foods Hope this helps

Hello fellow Arkansas bandsters, How is everyone doing? it's been a while since anyone has posted so I just thought I would drop a word or 2. It's a long journey and no one said it would be easy. I've had a few ups & downs but have managed to get through. I have fairly good restriction now but don't think I'm at my sweet spot yet. My next fill is in May & I think the third one will do it. Good luck to all!!

Hello All, I also weigh everyday - it keeps me going in the right direction. I hate it when I gain a pound back but it seems like a 1-2 pound swing is not abnormal. Good luck to all...

Hello everyone, I had my second fill yesterday and now have 6cc's in my 10cc band. Weight loss has been slow but steady and I do feel some restriction now. I go 2 months until my next fill so hopefully this one will be close to my sweet spot. It's good to read that most everyone is doing well with their weight loss. Keep up the good work.

Good day everyone, Well my scales finally moved a little, 2 more lbs. ~ now down 38lbs. It had been 2 or 3 weeks since they moved down and at one point during that time they went up a few pounds. I've just had the one fill and think another would help a lot. It's not due until March 26. O well enough ranting - looks like everyone is doing a super job. Karyn your pictures show a big difference, way to go. I along with you find the exercise to be a tough thing. I can come up with a lot of excuses but need to get off my ass and get with it. Make it a habit where I just do it. As you said a little bit of walking makes a difference. Good luck to all ~ we will make it.:smile2:

Welcome to the group jandar. Good luck!

I got my first fill today - 3.5cc. It wasn't to bad. I had to drink some water which went down easy at first then with a few more sips it started to back up. I guess thats where he stopped filling. 6 weeks now to the next fill. Good luck all.

I've lost 30lbs so far and haven't had a fill. I go in Friday Feb 12th for the first one. I haven't lost any in quite a while but have maintained the 30lb loss for 3 weeks. Really looking forward to the first fill. The Doc said he will try for 5cc the first fill - in a 10cc band. Good luck to you. :rolleyes2: It will work. I think it's a great move as nothing else was working for me. The quote below was from a success story I read on LAP-BAND®.com from a guy who had lost over 100lbs and I think it's something we all can strive for.

Kris - Hang in there ~ the first 3/4 days are very rough. Get plenty of protein and maybe add a teaspoon of peanut butter to your shake. That helps the taste. Chike makes a very good protein shake and you can get 5 sample flavors for free almost - all you pay is $6.95 for shipping. Search on Chike for link. It will be worth it in the end. And yes I did cheat - once. Christmas day was very hard not to eat a few things but I still lost 18 pounds by operation day. -
Hello Everyone, How are all the recent bandsters that had a fill doing? My first fill is not till Feb. 12. No restriction now and I feel like I could eat a whole cow. LOL I have noticed some on the site that are not happy with their weight loss so far so I would like to remind everyone that success can also come in other ways. My weight loss has stopped at 28 to 30 lbs. over the last 2 weeks but I took my waist measurement last night and was surprised to see that I had lost 4 inches since Dec. 19th. I knew I have had to dig out some old clothes and use a different belt but was surprised at the inches lost. So hang in there everyone and try to look for changes other than weight loss. I was reading a guys success story (Alan~133lb. lost) on lap-band®®.com and he had a quote that stuck with me so I added it to my signature. It is in red and seems to me like a good thing to remember. Good day all & good luck on your journey.:cursing:

Hello all, I'm from the Searcy area & was banded on Dec 30th by Dr. Gibbs here in Searcy. I'm scheduled to have my first fill on Feb 12th. I'm looking forward to that as theres not much restriction now. Good luck to all!!
-
Congratulations Karyn!! Can you tell a difference? Did it hurt? I had my first visit with Dr. yesterday & he said it will be Feb. 12th before I get my first fill. It will be about a 5CC fill. It's quite a wait but he goes by the mfg. recommendations. Good luck all.

Hey Duece. Welcome back - how's it going? It looks like you lost a few lb's while you were lost.
