Hi shoes, Date all booked for 12th August in Brussels. Flying out of Dublin on 11th. Met lovely Fred and paid my deposit!! Also met some lovely people who have been banded and couldn't recommend them enough which is good to hear. Another lady there has lost 6 stone in a year and looks amazing. Is it normal to be eating all around me at the moment though? Subconsciously i know I won't be able to do it forever i suppose.

Hi ya Flirtylass, I'm fairly new here and also from Ireland. I meet with Fred tomorrow for my consol as I'm flying late in to Brussels the day before the op. Getting banded now on 12th August. Where abouts are you from? Everywhere I read its about you and your fantastic weightloss.....you've done brilliant. I'm hoping its the Irish air!!! Hi Homecare, See....told ya I was pre op!!! Thanks for that anyhow. Didn't know. You learn so much from this site..... My husband last night bought a tin of Chicken Curry and it had loads of sauce in it. It was actually like a thick soup, but curry flavour!! Worth a try?

Hi Homecare, Have you thought about maybe having smoothies at lunchtime and soup maybe for dinner? I was feeding a 10 month old baby today from a jar and it tasted delicious. Your probably saying Yuk! but its got all the nutrients too....i'm pre op so not really sure.....but just an idea! Custard? Good luck anyhow, thinking if you Siobhain

Hi Maysh, I'm going to be banded the day after ya on the 12th!!! OMG I'm eating all around me at the mo, just merely cos I can. Getting nervous though too. Gotta start the low fat diet in 2 weeks..... Toppings x

Help, in a bit of a pickle. I'm heading away for a girlie weekend with cousin and aunty from 9-11 August to a lovely hotel with spa about hours drive away. Frederick says he can do banding for me on 6th august, home on the 8th - would I be well enough to go away on the 9th? Alternatively, could have the banding done on the 12th, which means having my weekend away, booking an evening flight on the 11th which arrives in Belgium at 9pm - is this too late? I'm having my consol in Dublin on Thursday so won't be needing that but notice that a 'personal coach' visits you in the hotel before hand. What time do they come to the hotel at? My cousin has paid for this weekend away and is a gift for my birthday so don't really want to upset her..... Any insight would be great Toppings

Goodness me you sound so healthy!! How come your finding it harder to eat the salmon?

Hi Wishful, I'm gonna ask a really silly question now so forgive me!! Are you hungry on what you eat on a normal day? It seems so little but maybe thats where the band helps...

Are you allowed to drink fizz after the band has been fitted? I've heard my stomach could explode, but love my Diet C*k* now and then or the odd beer, but the beer is full of gas!

What are the best options for hotels. frederrick has send me details of Crowne Plaza (which doesn't have great reviews on line) or an alternative 3* Can anyone tell me what they were like? thanks Toppings

Ha ha Just been looking at the calender and now thinking of getting the band done on 31st July. Its a Friday which means I could be back here on the Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday off too. Hi Homecare, Oh my God, you must be so nervous but excited at the same time. I doubt if 2 glasses of wine would undo 3 weeks worth of good work, but try to stay focused. The wine will always be there and you can have that after the op. Do I sound hard - sorry don't mean to but I read on another site where they couldn't operate cos the liver hadn't shrunk enough. It has happened. I'm hoping to be banded 5th August and I'll need stern words from you too then!!! So who is going with you? What hotel you staying in? Do you have much to loose?

Hi Laura, I'm going in to see Frederick on 2nd July in dublin, as like you I've also refused to pay the ridiculous price tag of 11000 euro. I hope to get banded 5th August as he has these dates free and they suit me best. Where in Ireland you from?

Hi guys, Newbie here!!! After consulting with Beacon and their huge price tag, I have decided to go ahead with Dr CDB in Belgium. He came recommended however my mum has heard a horror story of banding where the ladies bowel was snipped, and now I'm, thinking twice...although carrying 6 extra stone isn't gonna help me health either. I can see the Dr Chris comes highly recommended. I am due to visit Frederick on 2nd July and after his email of availability dates would hopefully opt for surgery on 5th august Can anyone tell me how they felt about the service they received from Belgium? thanks Siobhian

Hi there guys I'm a newbie here!!! Went to Hospital in Dublin 3 weeks ago that charge 11,700 and still not heard back from them re a date - not very happy with that. I live in Ireland and am going to see Frederick in Dublin on 2nd July. He sent me an email to advise of opertion dates available and 5th August looks good. So nervous but excited at the same time. My mum heard a horror story of nipping bowel of surgeon in Belgium but not sure of the name of the surgeon. Any advice would be so welcome
