Hi Maysh, I'm staying at the Campanile hotel. Purely cos apparently everyone stays there - don't want to be the only banded person at the Crown Plaza! See Garry is getting re-done on the 12th too! I've been taking my Milk Thistle too, but mine is in droplet form so add to a glass of water three times a day. I don't drink alcohol anyhow so here's hoping my liver shouldn't be too big anyhow. Had porridge for breakfast, herbal tea at 11, now having a salad for lunch with tuna fish. Oh shine my halo:smile: Its hard going alright, and I'ver certainly slipped up like yourself - mainly with crisps. Its my birthday today and hubby has bought profeterioles for dessert....I'll have one, maybe 2.....oh help:cursing:

Hi ya Maysh, The low fat diet? Oh I'm trying, but its so bloody hard. Was in Mc Donalds yesterday with kids and was very good. Had a salad with grilled chicken and about 2 of the kids chips. Dinner was another salad. My biggest problem is crisps! Eat a 6 pack, no problem and when I sit down to watch tv once kids are in bed, i just want to munch. Last nite I had a cup of green tea.... I just keep trying to convince myself, its only for another week. To top everything else I have an infection in my wisdom tooth and taking antibiotics for it hoping it clears before the op. Taking my milk thistle 3 times a day too. How are you doing? Siobhain

Hi homecare, As far as I understand, there is a big conference in South of France for all the Bariatric Surgeons. they are all coming over from USA too. When I booked my surgery, the lastest dates he had in August was 11th and 12th, then Tues & Fridays in Sept. I'm actually booked for 12th August, but I booked that back in June!!! Maybe suggest if there is a cancellation available to your sister and partner.... Siobhain

Homecare & bigsis Thanks for that. Sounds like a good rule of thumb - will defo keep an eye on the labels so Porridge for breakfast with blueberries instead of nuts so... Feels strange though that because I'm on a 'low fat diet' i feel I should be hungry, but I'm eating every couple of hours on low fat stuff!! Stange but suppose thats where the band comes in to helo - controls my portions

Hi Maysh, I'm getting banded on 12th. Flying from Dublin on 11th, so will ya keep the bed warm for me??? I'm not eating crisps, chocolate, biscuits, chips, burgers. Just eating my 3 meals (with no added fat) and if I feel like a snack I have fruit or a yogurt. Not sure what else I'm supposed to be doing. As much in the dark as yourself when it comes to the 'low fat' bit. Am I still allowed nuts in my porridge? In the next week will probably be really cutting down and having soups for dinner - thats what my local hospital recommended!! Siobhain

That number is a Freephone number from UK and we're unable to ring it from the Emerald Isle, so I've sent them an email. OMG I haven't even been banded yet and looking at this!!! What am I like? Hi Odge, Oh thanks for that - I emailed him flight details and all is ok. Met the lovely Fred in Dublin a couple of weeks ago. When I was booking the banding op he only had 6th, 11th and 12th August then it was any Tuesday or Friday in Sept. I maybe think he is doing 12th cos he isn't doing Friday that week. Get your friend on here and tell her how nice we all are.... Siobhain

Hi Suefee, Do you have a number for Wendy? From what I've read on the posts she sounds wonderful I have a friend who had her band done in the UK but lives in Ireland. She travelled to London last week. Had 5ml put in and still no restriction and its costing a lot of money on flights, accommodation etc Might be using her myself too!!! Siobhain
