Thanks for that warning. Booked a hotel in Brussels so will make sure to get back as soon as possible!! Heading over with another lady from Ireland who also had the band fitted. Trouble is we're sharing a room with one toilet - the little things that bother us bandsters.... Fly out on Wednesday, back Thursday - will post how I get on Slightly worried, but hoping all will be ok -

Hello Everyone, Haven't been on here in ages...... Last year had to have a bronchoscopy after having lung infections for the best part of 6 months. Ii Found out my lungs were clear but it was my wind pipe that was inflammed. This was caused by the band being too tight and constant reflux at night, with droplets going in to my trachea every night. Was prescribed steroids to reduce the inflammation in the trachea. The consultant diagnosed I was anemic too. So big defill in November. Since then I've put on 8 kilos. I've booked to have an x ray in Belgium at Dr Chris's clinic on Wed 15th Feb. I'm afraid that a 'pouch' has developed above the band, as when the band was 'tight' I could still eat loads. So just curious has anyone had a fill with Dr Chris's clinic before? What am i to expect? Need him to do a fill while I'm there Any information would be greatly appreciated -

Hi guys Homecare thanks for the well wishes. Bobobaldy thanks for letting me know what happens when you get to target. Wow you've done fantastic. I was given a fill last Thursday 0.5ml which brings me up to 6.0ml in a 7ml band. Boy is it tight!!! Having the dreaded reflux at night and have never had that before. Was eating a yogurt earlier and threw it back up. Even icecream came back up. Managing to eat a few of those Carrs Cheese Crackers and of course the odd Malteser is managing to stay down  Hoping this won't last for too long otherwise I'll be back to see him for an aspiration. For the moment, Gaviscon and Rennies are my best friends!! -

Hello there everyone, Long time no posting!!! Well on Weds I was 9 months post op. I have now lost a total of 4st and 8lb's and you can't stop me from smiling!!! Best decision I've ever made was to get the band done. Had a 0.5ml fill yesterday with Chris in Dublin and now at 6ml in my 7ml band. Haven't had a fill since Feb and finding it hard to be back on liquids again. But hey only 2 more stone to loose and then I'll be at the goal. Which brings me to the question, what do you do once you reach target weight? Do you have some liquid removed from the band to stop you loosing? Never thought I'd ever want to stop loosing lol but i don't want to be skinny!! -

Well hello there everyone. Haven't been on here for a while - apologies, working all hours and trying to make hay while the sun shines. Not much work out there so did it while I could. Went for my 4th fill yesterday with the lovely Fred in Dublin - goodness me there was no-one in the clinic, suppose they are all avoiding the fill because of Christmas looming. Anyhow mentioned to Fred about this slight 'popping' :blushing:sensation that I feel under my top scar when I eat too much, or when I laugh. Turns out I have a small hernia. It can be caused by surgery and all the vomiting hasn't helped. But then again, it causes a lot of the vomiting too. Viscous circle..... Anyhow it will mean more surgery and will probably go back to Brussels to have Chris fix it as the hospitals in Dublin aren't the best. :w00t: Its not painful, but something I really do need to keep an eye on. It won't go away without surgery, but boy oh boy am i really thinking about what I'm eating. Really don't want to aggravate the band and just drinking at the mo, for the imminent 2 days after the fill and maybe more. Hoping the weight loss will continue!!! Well done to all you guys on the weightloss and keep up the good work. Goodness me, we will all be at target weight soon. Roll on the Janurary sales for a new wardrobe -
Hi Shoes, How did you gt on with Wendy? I think I'm at the same stage you were with, with Fred. He said the band couldn't take anymore fluid, but I can still eat lots!!! Last week was a chicken nugget happy meal. Although it was slow.....but it still went down. Would you recommend her? Siobhain

Hi guys, Haven't been on here for a while. You guys are doing so well. Bobo, thats a brilliant weight loss. Mandy, i was like you last week. Really down cos I just couldn't eat a thing!! Only Soup.... Even mash potatoe was hard to swallow and of course then because you want to eat, you settle for the food that slides down easy like the chocolate and ice-cream. Its mental torture. I went out for a meal last Friday and was very nervous - ordered sole and chewed and chewed and really took my time. Had to keep putting the knife and fork down and after about 15 minutes it had gone cold, but I did manage to eat half of it, with mashed celeriac. Dessert was a skinny latte!! My weight loss has really slowed down too so much so that I'm thinking of going back to writing things down, like Garry said and being good. -

Hi Shoes, Don't have Wendy's number to be honest. I had my second fill on Thursday by Chris. He put in 1.5ml and I couldn't even swallow my saliva. Had to throw up the water, but Chris called me back in and took out .5ml. Have amazing restriction at the moment and not eating a lot. So roll on the weight loss....... Siobhain -

Hello there everyone, Haven't been on here in a while, but I'm back. 6 weeks post op today and 29lbs lost. Feeling fantastic. But boy i don't like that feeling of when the food hasn't been chewed propertly and gets stuck. OMG the pain!!! I love my dinner hot and to be honest, tend to have mush for my dinner so I can eat it faster. If the dinner gets anyway cold, forget it, I just won't bother eating it. Yesterday I was eating all round me, today I can eat barely anything. Had my first fill 1st sept and had 3ml put in. My next fill is 1st Oct, next week!! All going well otherwise, so long as i chew. Throwing out my size 20 jeans and trousers is a great feeling, knowing I will never need them again either :tongue2: Siobhain -

Hi guys. I'm 2 weeks post op and my port is giving me a lot of pain. I'm back taking the pain killers the hospital gave me. Stitches are out and all has healed well. Its anytime i sit up, or sit down, turn in the bed and sometimes even when I'm just walking. Is this normal?:blushing: Siobhain -

Mush Ideas I started mushies yesterday and still resorting to the old reliables. Yogurt for Breakfast (as not hungry in morn), Soup for lunch. Had mash potatoes with carrots and broccoli in gravy for dinner which tasted so delicious, but anyone else got anymore ideas? Also how long does this mushy stage last for? -

Hi guys, Well I was banded last Wed 12th August. Took those lovely stockings off today and my legs can finally breathe!!! Really trying to get the 2 litres of water in to me, and managing 1.5 litres along with Actimel for breakfast, fresh home made fruit juice at lunch and bowl of home made soup for dinner. Feeling really weak today and falling asleep at 6pm..... Just back from Tesco and bought some Condensed Milk. Had 4 teaspoons and great sugar kick. Also had about 4 of my daughter's 'Skips', as they dissolve on the tongue. I'm taking dissolvable multi vitamins too. Roll on Saturday, so I can start the mushies... -

Hello Everyone, i'm back home after been banded on Wed. Experience was fantastic, hospital spotless, nurses were at the end of that bell every 5 hours with their pain killers too. Couldn't fault them at all. I was so lucky to be there when Garry was there too. He was an absolute rock of support to everyone. and I haven't laughed so hard in a long time - supposed to be good for the healing..... On liquids now and all is well. Defo getting a litre of Water in and trying for more but its hard when you feel full all the time. Anyhow going to have a little lie down now - just got back this afternoon. In the theatre, I wasn't nervous at all thanks to all you guys telling me that I had nothing to worry about - and you were right. While I was waiting to be brought to the theatre I had a sleep I was so relaxed. Without the forum it would have been a lot different!!! Thanks guys and Garry - still giggling .... Haven't lost a pound!!!! Been on low fat alright. Drinking my water and taking my milk thistle. It was my birthday on Tuesday and my kids birthdays last 2 weeks too so that hasn't helped either. Haven said that, not been drinking alcohol, eating chips or burgers, or eating chocolate, crisps. Living on Muller Lights if I feel like something sweet. Porridge for breakfast. Salad for lunch and veg with chicken/fish for dinner. I'm in Campanile hotel. What about you? -
