Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?

No thanks! I will just throw them away and buy new ones. I would much rather spend the money then deal with that. Ugh!

Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?

Funny thing, just the other day I was discussing this with the girls at work. One lady mentioned wanting another husband but the rest of us were in complete agreement, if we were to get an additional spouse, we want a wife. A wife would be much more beneficial at this point. Someone to cook and clean as well as the other crappy things we have to do. Then I could spend my time for me! Selfish, I know. She of course would be welcome to have her fun on the side cause like green's, ours would be a sexless marriage. The trick is finding a woman who likes the domestic stuff that would be satisfied to live with us since same sex marriages aren't legal here. :guess

:mmph:ABSOLUTELY!!! I battle the same thing Avilla.:pout: I tend to look at how much more I have to lose then what I have done and I get that attitude. I always think if I would have done this or that my number would be bigger.:frusty: We are our own worst enemies! Don't kid yourself, 69.5 is amazing! Just think where you were a year ago. That helps put it into prospective for me. My menu for yesterday is: B-Hard boiled egg (WOOHOO!! The excitement!) L-Meatloaf D-Little sloopy joe meat w/o the bun, a couple small weiners and a deviled egg. My eating yesterday wasn't the best and my scale reflected so. :fear: I was only down .4. There I go again, only down. It's better then up. I am hoping for those last 2 lbs. to sneak off today. If they don't, I will do m/e tomorrow as well and fight them to leave!:boxing:

    Hello Missouri!

Sharon--How'd your appt. go? Get a fill? Last night we had our first ever support group for Dr. Pitt patients here. It was really nice since he has several patients in the Kirksville area and this way we don't have to drive to Columbia for the meetings. We had a great meeting. Sylvia was there to get us going and Dr. Pitt is scheduled to be here next month. Sylvia was telling us that Dr. Peters is now part of the bariatric surgery team with Boone Hospital. He is already part of Columbia Surgical. Sounds like interest in wls especially lapband is ever increasing and they are expanding. It is so nice to think that more people who could really benefit from wls are hearing about it and checking it out!
  6. You are having perfectly normal thoughts. Surgery is a scary thing. I had never had surgery before and I was terrified. I remember being wheeled into the surgery room and them helping me move from one "bed" to another. They started to put me under and when I woke up in the recovery room, I didn't even realize it was over and I was telling the nurse I had changed my mind. She informed me it was over and I did great! As far as following the diet. Keep reminding yourself why you are doing this. You want to lose weight, not miss out on life, be there for loved ones, whatever it may be. I have heard a saying several times and there are many times that I remind myself of it: Nothing taste as good as skinny will feel. Adopt that and when you are tempted to eat something you shouldn't, tell yourself that over and over again. Our minds play a huge roll in all of this and we have to fight it but you can do it and win! Keep your eye on the prize! Best of luck to you and as soon as you feel up to posting after surgery, let us know how you are doing!

    Surgery Envy?

I have been banded but prior to learning about lapband, I considered RNY. Because of all the health complications that could occur and the long term reports on patients, I decided that wasn't for me. You have to decide for yourself but I urge you to research RNY long and hard. It is appealing at first to think about how much faster the weight could come off but I think in the end, lapband is the best choice. I'll pass a thought onto you that a lady in my support group said last night who is waiting for insurance approval. She said that the decision for her was easy when she thought about all the patients that would be in the nursing home someday that would have to rely on the nurses to force feed them all the Vitamins they needed to keep going. Gives you a whole different perspective on things. :rolleyes

Where do you shop for your clothes???

My favorite places to shop are CJ Banks and Lane Bryant. Sometimes I shop at Fashion Bug as well as Pennys. Old Navy is great too!

Avilla--look at that ticker! I hadn't noticed that until now! Way to go!!:cheer2: I forgot to post yesterday's menu. Here it is: B-Hard boiled egg L-Grilled chicken breast D-Nothing; wasn't hungry. Sounds familiar, huh? :guess Tonight is family night at church which is a carry-in meal. That will certainly be a test. Often times there isn't just a meat like I would be eating so I sure hope there is. If not, maybe I will be blessed and not be hungry!

    Getting Ready for Spring Bootcamp

Yesterday was one of those blah days when I was so exhausted and feeing ticked at the doctor that left me on this medicine...hence, the long post about bp. Thanks for listening to me. :biggrin1: I am now back on track thinking I will make it to 100 this month as well! :clap2: I started to doubt it the beginning of the week but with a 2 lb. weight loss yesterday, I am believing it again! I really thought that the impending TOM would blow that dream way out of the Water but maybe it's not going to be as rough on me as I first thought. Good job with lunch yesterday! I too must be in ketosis because I'm not hungry really either. Last night my mil was making dh and I supper because I had a meeting from 3-5:30 and then another that started at 6:30 so preparing a meal was out. Anyway, she made homemade pizza. :nervous I LOVE homemade pizza but of course couldn't eat any because I am totally dedicated to m/e. The thing was, when I thought about it, I really didn't want anything and so I didn't eat. Needless to say I was amazed that I could sit at the table with dh and his parents while they ate the pizza, chips, Cookies and the such and not even be tempted! What a milestone! Sometimes I get the induction flu but not everytime. I did last week for sure. Nothing looked good! It ususally hits me about day 3. That's today so it may be looming. I do have to admit, my grilled chicken planned for lunch is not sounding appealing at all. :tired

    Getting Ready for Spring Bootcamp

Mine is at 180. I used to have high cholesterol (slightly, not too high) and took meds but he took me off them about 3-4 months ago and it has been good every since. I wish they would take me off my high blood pressure medicine. My family doctor has a new doctor in with him and last time I went to him, I got the new guy. I wasn't overly thrilled with this but I thought it can't be too bad. Anyway, the time before the last when I was there, my doc said my blood pressure was 116/64 and he wanted me to start taking half of my 5mg pill a day and then he would work me off them. He said you don't want to quit taking them cold turkey. So, I started taking half a pill but I have to be honest, I wasn't taking it everyday because there were times when I felt like my bp was low. So when the new doc takes my bp this last time, it was like 120/72 or real close to that. He decided that I should stay on my meds because that is perfect and you don't mess with perfect. I told him what my doctor had done that last time I was there and that he talked about taking me off them this time. He asked if I was getting dizzy when I stood up. I said yeah, sometimes. He said that was because my bp was low. Well now, I get the dizzy feeling a lot and I am tired so much and everyone tells me it's from my bp being low. I go back to my family doctor next month so I called the office and told the receptionist that I wanted to see my regular doctor and not the other guy. I feel like he will take me off it. I am only taking my half a pill every other day. I thought about going and seeing him about it before my next appt but decided not to. If it gets worse, I will but I think it is better since I don't take the pill everyday.

    Getting Ready for Spring Bootcamp

Oh tann, eliminating red meat would be hard! I try to eat a lot of chicken cause I have heard that it and fish are the best for you and I don't like fish so... They go back and forth so often about what's good for you and what's not. Are eggs good for you now or not? Do they raise your cholesterol? I worried about that when I went to see my doctor this last time because he was doing bloodwork to check mine and I knew I had been eating a lot of eggs. Bloodwork was good but it still made me wonder.

    Getting Ready for Spring Bootcamp

Here was my menu for yesterday: B-Hard boiled egg L-Grilled chicken with a few cooked onion slivers (shouldn't have had the onions but I couldn't resist) D-Ditto lunch Real exciting, I know. :bored While I am doing m/e this week, I am certainly not having the results I have been seeing. TOM is just around the corner and that always affects my weightloss. I seem to have the most issues as far as eating and weightloss the week before I actually start. :girl_hug: This seems to be the week. I fought head hunger yesterday and really wanted to cave but remained strong...for the most part. The onions while not really bad for you, aren't on the eating plan. Oh well! I plan to do better today! I didn't lose yesterday, but at least I didn't gain which used to be my norm this time of the month. I had really hoped to make my 100 lbs. lost this month and I still might, but if I don't because of TOM, I am ok with that. I will have it in no time. It hit me the other day that if m/e continues along with somewhat of the same results (or even worse), I will be in twoterville within 2 weeks!!! I only have 9 lbs. to go!!!!! :high5: It seems so unreal and here I am, almost there! Sunday night I was looking at some of our wedding pics and I was amazed at the difference from now! We were married 7 years ago last month and I now weigh less then I did then!! In fact, as well as I can remember, I am a little less then I was about 6 months before the wedding! Did everyone's week get off to a good start? We seem to have lost so many members. I hate that! Everyone's schedule must have gotten really busy. :phanvan I refuse to believe anything else.

    Hello Missouri!

I do feel different...good different. It's hard for me to see if but the scale and the clothes reflect it so I know it's not just a dream. I think dh and I have decided to go ahead and start trying for a baby in July. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. We are as ready as can be expected. I kinda thought about waiting until I was at my goal but I don't mind interrupting my weight loss for a little bundle of joy. I am really working hard to get as much weight off as possible before that time. I am pushing myself really hard! How is everything going for you?

    Hello Missouri!

:pound: I so totally agree with you....rude, rude, rude! I cancelled the last appt. I was to have with her and I have no intention of going back. My insurance doesn't pay for her either and I am through all her "steps" so what benefit would I really get out of it? I don't know what that pain would be. I would ask Dr. Pitt about it. I would be interested to see what he has to say about it. If he thinks it may be something, he could look at it. I don't know that he could use the ultrasound or if he would have to do it by x-ray. I would find out though.

Avilla--I agree with Tann. I need the discipline and m/e helps me stay focused. It does tend to get boring from time to time but when I get on the scale, it motivates me to keep going. I'll post my menu for the day either tonight or tomorrow morning. lunch and dinner are both undecided. Good luck with it! Tann--I get embarrassed with the attention as well. No matter where I go, it seems to be the topic. Man, when we do reach goal! I can only imagine! (Hehe, that's the name of one of my favorite songs and as I typed it, the song popped in my head and I can't seem to quit singing it now. :lalala: )

    Getting Ready for Spring Bootcamp

Tann, Pam, Amy--Thank you! I really appreciate your support! Amy, 38 lbs. is awesome! You will make your 50 in no time! Keep it up! I have to say, I experience exactly what Tann is talking about. Everyone knows that I had the surgery but they are just amazed that I have lost weight so quickly. Everyone is so happy for me and it is the topic of discussion everywhere! I feel like a totally different person. In fact, dh and I just got back from walking 2 miles and it felt great! It is such a beautiful day that I wanted to take advantage of it and I suggested the walk. That would have NEVER happened a year ago! The changes are amazing! Avilla--It's good to hear from you! I will be starting back on m/e Monday so I will try to remember to post my menu. Hopefully when I see Tann's that will remind me. I can give you a rough idea however. Every morning I eat a hard boiled egg or two hard boiled egg whites. Thursday for lunch I had a small piece of meatloaf. Not exactly the best meat choice but it was what was available. For supper Thursday I had a grilled pork chop. Friday for lunch I had chicken and the same for supper. I eat a lot of boneless, skinless chicken breast either grilled or baked. I love chicken so it's not too difficult to live with. :hungry: The menu does tend to get boring by day 4 or 5 but well worth it! This evening we are trying out a new restaurant with some friends. I am looking forward to a nice salad! YUM!

    Introduction!

Hi Hogan! Welcome to LBT! I don't know anything about Group Health Coop. but I wanted to pass some encouragement along to you. I researched different WLS's before deciding on lapband and even after that, I spent a year researching more in depth and deciding whether it was right for me. I choose lapband over others because of several reasons. It's not as risky, it is adjustable to provide you with the help you need and because quite frankly, the other scared me! In the end, I decided to have the surgery because I realized that the risks of staying obese were far worse than the risks of surgery. I had my surgery this past November and couldn't be happier with my decision!! It's not a miracle cure but it can help us achieve things that we aren't able to do on our own. I am forever greatful for my band! Best of luck to you as you look into this and if you have any questions, let us know!

    Hello Everyone

Welcome Rashad! I'm glad to hear that you have decided to take a big step to improve your life! What better gift can you give your son then to be there for him and help him grow into a fine young man? The risks involved with obesity are scary but lapband is a great tool to help you beat that! My advice, study everything you can about it. Read up and go into this knowing as much as you can, it will help. There is a wealth of info here as well as wonderful people ready to support and help you! I can't begin to tell you the way the people here have helped me. They are the best! I have done very well with my band! It is allowing me to do something that I have never been able to do on my own. Was it the way to go? For me, absolutely! I would do it again in a heartbeat! Best of luck to you as you begin this new chapter in your life! Keep us posted on how everything is going.
