  1. Personally, I don't feel like it would bring closure. I wouldn't think that just losing weight and looking great would make me forget the pain. That is something that I feel I would have to deal with on my own whether I am heavy or skinny. Now it would make me happy to rub in how great I look (when I actually lose all that weight that is!). The surprised look on there face when they realize that I look amazing and they are probably still a snot would be priceless! That reason alone is why I hope to have a lot of the weight off when we have our high school reunion next summer!!!

    Getting Ready for Spring Bootcamp

Oh my girls, this is awesome! I decided I wanted to try something different last night and remembered this post from Josette and decided to give it a try. (Page 29, Post #426) It sounded so easy to me but it really gives you a good workout!! I am looking forward to doing it again tonight when I get home! I did this last night along with 10 mins. on the bike and 45 crunches (25 front and 10 each side). I also did 10 leg lifts. When my hubby suggested them, I thought they would be a breeze but boy did I feel it. I laid flat on my back and raised both feet 1 inch off the floor and then lifted my legs straight up and back down to an inch. I felt great after my workout! My Water intake has been great lately! My scale is at a standstill right now but I know that I haven't been eating enough calories. I only ate one meal yesterday which is not good. I was home cleaning house and just didn't stop to eat. I am going to start fluctuating my calorie intake to get the scale moving again.

Do you call your pet smtg other than its name?

My cat is named Charity but she gets called tons of other things as well. She responds no matter what we call her. She even responds to stupid cat which my hubby calls her when she's been bad.
  4. This is the best thread I've seen in a while! I am sure everyone in my office is wondering what I'm smoking today sitting here laughing hysterically but I don't care. I did have my monthly the day of surgery and they gave me a huge pad and some mesh panties. Don't know if they stayed on or not, I assume they did but really couldn't care less. As many nekkid people as they see, I would feel honored if they wanted to catch a glimpse at my hoo ha! :heh:

    November Bandsters!

Please, please, please don't feel this way. I know how tempting it is but none of us can judge our weightloss by someone elses. Yes, I have lost over 60 pounds and I am very proud of that, but it's important to remember that we all started at different places. I started out weighing a lot more than you. This is such a normal feeling for us all because we all want to get this weight off and enjoy our new lives. Sometimes I look at your weight and others lower than me and think "Man! How I wish I weighed 232 pounds". It's a normal feeling but we can't let it overcome us. We are all in this together! I will definetely be part of your support system! That's what we are here for. You all our my support as well. I am with you on not being able to think of myself as thin. I have never been thin. Most all of my family is obese and I have a hard time waiting too. Part of me wishes I could wake up thin and it all be over but I know that if I don't do it, if I don't struggle a little (or a lot), it won't mean the same to me. That may sound funny. I want to get there but I want to earn it and if I struggle some, I think it will be more of a motivation to me to NEVER go back to where I was. It is not in my genes to be thin but I will be someday! We may not be 120 pounds and all toned and perfect, but we will be happier, healthier people; we just have to fight for it. I'm a fighter!!!!

    Getting Ready for Spring Bootcamp

I'm still here! Work has been busy and I haven't been home to do anything but sleep lately. Between meetings and other appointments, I'm about to go nuts. The big downside to this is no time to exercise in the evenings so I get up at 4:00 a.m. to do it! I would have never done that a year ago! Get out of bed to exercise at 4:00 in the morning, what are you smoking?!? Yesterday's Info: B: Rice Krispies with Skim Milk S: Protein Shake L: Lean Cuisine S: Sugar Free Pudding D: Meatloaf and mixed vegetables Over 80 oz. of water and got some walking in. Today: B: Rice Krispies with Skim Milk S: Protein Shake L: To be determined S: Hopefully nothing D: To be determined 40 oz. of water down the hatch! So far this week, I am down 3 lbs. but those are the pesky pounds that creeped up when my TOM came the end of last week. I am hoping to lose 2 more by the end of the week. Gotta get my butt more in gear. Thursday evening I will be home so I am going to dance and provide my hubby with 40 mins. of pure comic entertainment!! :pound:

    new guy in missouri

Hey Spark! Welcome to LBT! I am from Northeast Missouri and was banded in November. Lapband has opened possiblities to me that I never thought would be possible. There are a bunch of wonderful people here and a ton of knowledge. If you can't find what you are looking for, just ask. BTW, Are you working with a surgeon already or just researching on your own?

    Funniest commercial

My favorite commercial is one from that cell phone company that has the slogan "Can you hear me now?" (I can't remember the name of the company.) Anyway, it's the one where he's at the zoo and he walks by the monkey cage and says his line and they show a monkey with a banana to his ear and making noise as if to say "Can you hear me now? Good!" It cracks me up! :pound:

    Any Younger Bansters Here?

Hey Marissa! I am 26 and was banded in November. There are several people here in their 20's. Like many have mentioned, I wish I would have been banded years ago as well. It sure would have made my 20's better! One nice thing is we have a slightly better chance of not having sagging skin! At least that's what my physical therapist tells me.....so far it's true. Hope it continues!

#10 is definitely true! :heh: #13 OMG!! :omg: That is awful! I used to be able to eat one of those with fries and a soda, now it's more calories then I eat in an entire day!! If only everyone knew about lapband and was able to get it......:cry

In case you are interested, Mary Kay has a Creme to Power foundation. It has a light, powdery finish and is applied with a cosmetic sponge. Personally, I love it! You may want to check it out.

    November Bandsters!

This sounds exactly like my recent experience. If this continues and nothing works, call your doctor. It may be that you are still getting used to the fill but it could also mean that you are too full. Don't let it go on too long if you continue to have a problem.

I have never tried it but probably because I sell Mary Kay. I love Mary Kay products and will never try anything else.
