    Sept. 2010 Bandsters !!!

Lisa, I need to exercise more and eat less. I do need a fill desperately. I've been slacking off and I need to get myself back on track. I spent my entire summer running around the world with my daughters travel basketball team so I was really unable to situate a meal the correct way. Now that fall is here and I'm a bit more stable and home more often I plan to kick it up a 100% and do whats necessary to get down to at least 200lbs. I need to get on this site more often as well cause there is a lot of motivational things on here. I don't have any support system out here because quite frankly everyone I know is content with the way the look.

    Sept. 2010 Bandsters !!!

My band anniversary is sept 28th. I wish i had some great news like everyone else is reporting. I wish I had've gotten the sleeve or even the gastric. My band does nothing for me. I've been teetering at 315 for like 6mths. I went through all that work for a losey 18lb loss after the surgery and I think 16 before from the liquid diet.
  3. maybe i'm doing enough exercise but i swear i can eat like i never surgery if i wanted to

    Sept. 2010 Bandsters !!!

Hey Everyone, Well I went in today and had my first appt of the year......i know i know i'm way behind schedule especially since I haven't been since thanksgiving, oh well. I knew I needed to get in there but my surgeons office is about a hour and fifteen minutes from my house and Michigan=winter=bad road conditions. However I haven't weighed myself not one time since the surgery back in September. I don't even own a scale. I have lost a total including pre-op of 46lbs!!!!! I'm so excited but I have such a long way to go. I'm still overweight but I can admit that I am feeling better and looking even sexier than I already did. My clothes are hanging off me and I don't even care because that is my personal confirmation that I did the right thing by having surgery. I am so glad that everyone for the most part is doing well and seeing much progress and for those who aren't doing too hot just keep at it and make the necessary adjustments to your life. You may find that you need to make adjustment to accommodate a workout schedule, a kid free day or adjustments to the people that you let be close to you, but the point is zone in on the problems that are hindering your success with this and fix them right away. that was my random thought of the day, lol. Anyway good luck to everyone i wish you all success and sexiness

    I'm kinda worried...

I was banded on September 28, 2010 and I haven't vomited one time. I am very careful about my intake and I also can eat and digest anything i want. I'm down like 45lbs. Which is really good considering. If you are careful with your intake you should be just fine. I was nervous at first too about the not vomiting thing but after a few days I just considered myself blessed. Good Luck
  7. Finally, I've been motivated to exercise. I was banded back in Sept 2010 and I decided to wait until around 90 days post op to begin a decent exercise regime. My daughter plays basketball and fortunately for me her high school is brand new which includes a state of the art exercise facility and a indoor track. I've been hitting the track 3 times a week for at least a hour. My latest accomplishment has been 30 laps in 60 minutes. Now let me just say this my mouth be dry, my legs burn like crazy and my breathing is finally getting better. The down side for me is my hair!!! My edges get nappy pretty quickly from the sweat because my hair is natural and pressed out not relaxed. Moving on. I only know I'm losing weight because other people tell me. I don't own a scale. I have missed my last two doctor appts because of the snow and bad roads here in Michigan. I know I need a fill for several reasons the main one being when I went in for my last fill the darn nurse couldn't get any in the band but somehow she managed to take some out probably leaving me without anything at all. I want to start working on my arms and toning my belly down but I'm afraid I'm going to somehow hurt the band. Any suggestions on this would be great. What are you guys eating for Protein? How many meals a day are u getting in? I'm just releasing some thoughts that have been on my mind.

EA Sports Active 2: Who's Getting It?

let me know how that is working out because i would like to get it for the xbox 360 kinect or the wii
  13. Geez I feel so good right now. Yesterday when I was in church one of the mothers hugged me and whispered in my ear "dont think I haven't noticed your losing weight". I hadn't even thought about it really. But just to hear another person acknowledge they can see something changing on you is confirmation that I did the right thing. Milestones no matter how big or small should be celebrated so of course I left church and went straight to the mall, lol.

    Time off work?

I took a month off work so that I could relax and relax is exactly what I did
  15. I am experiencing a huge amount of pain in both of my knees. I have no reason why this happening. Its so bad in the mornings I can hardly stand up but it doesn't go away after I'm up and moving. When I went and got my fill last week the doctor asked if I had any pain in my calves but I didn't so naturally i said no. I honestly dont have pain in my calves its my darn knees. I hope this isn't a side effect of the fill cause I'm going to be pissed.
  16. Tomorrow is my first day back as well. I keep thinking I need to go to Super Walmart and get some items for this week. I have some protein shakes left over from my initial full liquid diet and I plan to use those at work. I also found some small cans of chicken salad, tuna salad, salmon salad with crackers. I'm very excited to return to work only cause i miss my fat azz checks, lol. Good Luck tomorrow and the rest of this week cause we are going to need it.

    Sept. 2010 Bandsters !!!

i'm glad to see everyone doing so well after only a couple of weeks post-op. I'm doing great myself and i get my first fill next week and I'm also really looking forward to it. right now i have little to no restriction but i have been losing weight. i've been out everyday walking. i just want everybody to continue doing well and lets create a section for update pics.
  21. :thumbup:You can do it you may be at least one size smaller by thanksgiving. I've already gone down one size and my one month is on the 28th. just get out and walk anywhere you can and you will see. drink at least one protein shake per day as well.
  22. Betsy is my favorite poster on this site so knowledgable
  23. I'm three weeks out of my surgery and I've been able to eat pretty much anything. I have however been eating small portions at a time and I've also been selecetive about the foods I eat. I just had my first whole grain pasta with turkey sausage and it was delicious. I suggest getting out and walking when you can and eat things that are high in protein so your body can continue to heal.
