Hello all, I was wondering. I am about 5 weeks post-op without a fill and lately I am getting this hard swollen feeling around my port. I thought maybe I was eating too fast or something, but it sometimes even happens when I am hungry. It comes and goes, Does anyone else experience this or know what it means?
-
Congrats Cassandra! You will start seeing that each day the swelling goes down and you feel pretty good in about 3 days. Of course you will find you drop everything on the floor when you can't pick it up.... Of course I am not mad, I was replying to Teri who suggested Starbucks. Maybe we could even have little get togethers there in between gatherings since it will be impossible to get everyone free on the same date.

Hello MOM, My first fill is doing well for me. I lost 3 this week and am down to 273. Happy T'Day everyone........be good!

Hello, We did have a nice lunch though I made a bad choice. The appetizer I ordered was a personal plate of crab abd artichoke dip with garlic crustini which turned out to be garlic bread. Note to self.... It was a nice restaraunt, but we chose the location because there were some coming from the far west suburbs, and unfortunately were unable to make it. It was nice to put names to faces though. I did ask Veggestyle if she would like to meet at a Starbucks since she is on liquids and I have an arsenal of Protein products. I wonder how she is doing, I think today may be her day? We also talked about each of us taking a turn as hostess, picking the place and organizing. What do you guys think?

Ladies - What Size Clothes to Cross Your Legs?
diane5467 replied to JulieNYC's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This is definately a goal for me too. I fantasize about wearing a pretty skirt with tall high heel boots and being able to sexily cross my legs... Being vertically challenged, I have a ways to go... -
Hi Mandy, I would give my eye teeth to be a 14/16. I so envy you to have baggies to give away! The holidays can be a pretty hectic time to try to get a get together planned, so maybe we should start nailing down a date and location so we get it in the calendar. December 30th after the holidays would maybe be a good date. What do you guys think? Diane

Glad to hear from you, we will be planning another outing in a month or so. I have only had one fill and I like it so far because I am losing a couple pounds a week and it does not seem severe at all. Let us know if you have suggestions for locations and restaurants.

chicken or beef???
diane5467 replied to housecatgirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have only just had my first fill, but I try not to chance anything getting stuck. I stick with dark meat chicken and anything ground beef related. I cut it up very, very small. I have not attempted steak because I don't want to have any bad experiences to talk about. I eat alot of seafood like fish and shrimp for lots of protein. -

Good morning all, I had my first fill last Thursday and have lost 2 pounds since then. This morning I am at 276. Like everyone else, they seem to start pretty conservative which is OK with me. I have some restriction, but not so extreme that I am experiencing all the complications. A couple pounds a week would be great. I was pretty petrified- made my sweetiepie come with me and it was no problem at all. I didn't even feel a prick just a little pressure and it was over. Good luck to everyone this week!

Hello folks, I am hoping to get a day and time set for our first Chicago bandsters outing (I hope you don't mind my jumping in to get it organized) and so far it looks like the RAM restaraunt in Schaumburg (www.theram.com) and it looks like lunch on Sunday the 19th is working best though I have not heard from everybody. This restaraunt has an online reservation tool, so I am hoping everyone who would like to meet up will respond with so we can reserve a big table. I looked and the tables seat 8, I e-mailed to see if they set up for larger parties or maybe we can get two close together. RSVP as soon as you can and for those who cannot make it we can start planning the next one too.

Hello all, RAM has a way to reserve tables online off the website so let me know which day is best for everyone and I will try to get this outing planned. We have been looking at Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th. I prefer a lunch outing myself. What do you all think?

My opinion is to wait until you stall. Some Drs don't even fill you unless you have stopped losing...
-
You are right, it is very hard to sit by and drink liquids. Maybe we can do one every six weeks. Once a month gets kind of hard for me personally. I remember that liquid diet well, it is pretty challenging but if you get some Isopure from GNC, the Protein will keep you full. Pure nectar also has this Peach Nectar protein that I mix with the orande crystal lite that is pretty good. I can bring some samples of some of the protein items I have. Now that I am on solids I don't rely on the drinks so much and have a little arsenal here at home.

Hello, Believe me, we all know where you are coming from. When I am craving spicy food, I get a pinto's and cheese from taco bell and add some hot sauce to it. Lots of protein even though probably high in calories it comes in a small portion and is satisfying. Not sure if you have that where you are. Reading about the big icy diet coke about had my mouth watering. That is the hard part because carbonation will expand your pouch and you didn't do this for nothing. When the weight starts coming off, you will get satisfaction from your loosening clothes and other non scale victories. Hang in there...

Hello all, I found a website for the RAM. DO we want to do lunch or dinner, and which day is best for everyone Saturday or Sunday? http://www.theram.com/

Hello, I would love to join the outing, I am in the Elmhurst area. Is the Schaumburg area convenient for everyone? There are tons on choices there. Maybe we list out everyones locations and see where a convenient place would be. I am not too big on driving downtown though... Thanks!

Hi Mom, STILL 279, two weeks with the same weight, but I get my first fill Thursday so hopefully things will be moving along here... Thanks and Congrats to all on their weight loss!
-
Hello, I have my first fill on November 9th, so I am hoping all goes well and I jump start the losing again. The restriction I was feeling is now gone and I am constantly feeling unsatisfied with my small portions. I have not lost anything for the last two weeks. This seems typical as I read through the posts....How is everyone doing and what are you eating when you eat out?
-
Congratulations on your decision, all of us here are in the same boat one way or the other and there is plenty of support on this site. Probably any question you may have has been covered in these forums and we welcome any new ones. I have not yet had my first fill so I am waiting for that new phase, but I already feel lighter, more energetic, and more in power of my own weight. Best of luck to you!

Hi MOM- Sad to report, I stayed the same this week...279.

You guys keep the monopoly pieces, I will take the fillet o fish no bun...

I could see listening to the doctor's advice regarding a medical issue, but he has to obviously KNOW the difference between right and wrong. Marriage is not some new fangled idea. I think he is lonely and making an excuse for taking a "companion." If indeed she is not his wife anymore is he entitled to make decisions regarding her treatment? If he is not her husband, is he in line to recieve her assets and insurance money? Were the vows he took "in sickness and in health," or were they "until sickness do us part?" I think I would tell him right out and not tiptoe around it. It is what it is.
