Hi IndioGirl- I enjoyed reading your posts and other people's posts. Congrats to you on your success. I am having a bit of down time and am wondering if I am doing something wrong... Here is the story. My surgery was May 18th and tomorrow will be 2 months. I have lost 20lbs and 8 inches but nothing since then. I have been at the 20lbs for a few weeks now. My first adjustment was June 30th and I had 5cc's put in. I only feel restriction if I eat too fast but for the most part I don't feel anything. I am looking forward to my next fill in the hopes that I will feel more. I am not hungry between meals and now am wondering if I am not eating enough (as funny as that sounds LOL). What I mean by that is enough protein... Today I just started journaling my food and counting Protein grams. I am thinking that I am not getting enough protein and then my body doesn't want to let me lose any more. I am exercising every day either by swimming or some type of other physical activity. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Good luck to all... Also, how do you get a "ticker" on to your profile? I want one of those :-). Nicole

What to eat/not eat before a fill?
bill4dme replied to aspenAvery's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My first fill is on June 30th and I was just told nothing to eat/drink after midnight the night before. I was not given any post-fill instructions but I sure hope I can return to normal diet right after LOL... If I have to drink anymore Protein Shakes I might have to hurt someone :-). Good luck!! -
Did anyone lose weight with the 1st fill?
bill4dme replied to 2911plans's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you to everyone that contributed to this thread. I am going for my first fill on June 30th and am really looking forward to that "full" filling again. All of the post-surgical swelling is gone and even though I lost an incredible 19lbs since surgery on May 18th I seem to be stuck there. I am hoping for a jump start after the fill. Good luck to all and I will look forward to reading more posts to this thread. -
Got here a little late...1st 5 days

Oh also I had a massage today which helped tons with the muscle cramps and soreness. They can do a pregnancy massage where you lay on your side. If you can I would give it a try for your neck/back pain. I had a GREAT nap today after my massage :-). -

I was not sure that I would be able to survive without my morning fix of Diet Pepsit but let me tell you once you get past the first few weeks it is a breeze. It has been 3 months now and I know that my kidneys are much happier because of it. My pee is a bright happy yellow :-) instead of the yuck that it used to be. I was in a bunch of pain afterwards but the hospital seemed to keep things under control. I was banded a week ago and so far I am down about 10lbs. I want to eat but know that it is best to keep up with the plan. I still get that "fullness" with Jello but I miss REAL food. I think after my 3 weeks of liquids I will not want to look at Jello for quite some time LOL.. Good luck, Nicole -
Having surgery tomorrow and scared!
bill4dme replied to Shearhunny's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgery is also tomorrow. I am not scared of the surgical procedure and that is probably because I have had so many surgeries in my life. To be honest having been on this liquid diet today I am more afraid of 3 weeks of jello LOL. I tried the bottles of isopure today and BLAH!! I found them to be nasty. I hope that I can deal with the protein powders after surgery. I will somehow choke them down and get thru to the end. Good luck tomorrow and I will send good thoughts your way. -
Banded on 4/23/2009!

Hello to all.... Congrats on your success thus far. I will be banded May 18th at Cedar's Sinai in Los Angeles. I am sorry to hear about your experience with Kaiser as far as them wanting you to take another 14 week class. My mom has Kaiser down here is Southern CA and they are making her go through so much. I feel SO lucky to have such wonderful insurance. My whole process from the time that I picked the surgeon to surgery date has been about 3 months. My family and I are very excited about this new adventure and I am looking forward to a new llife as a thinner, more energetic mom. Good luck to all. -
Fear of Needles & barium solution
bill4dme replied to hessekids's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not yet banded but I can't imagine that it would be more painful that giving blood. As far as the barium, I had it done 15 yrs ago and it was NASTY. I was expecting the same grossness when I did it recently and yes it was not my favorite thing but I just kept thinking about the end result and the reason why I was doing all of the preoperative testing. Just keep the goal in mind and I am sure that you will get thru it. Good luck. -
Hello everyone- I just joined this site under the recommendation of the care coordinator @ my surgeon's office. As far as the Wii Fit, I have hinted that I want it for Mother's day. I have a friend that swears by it and it is something that he can do with his son. My surgery is May 18th and I am hoping to get a little time on the Fit before surgery. If I don't make it on it right away I know that my kids will enjoy it also. Take care..
