My first consultation was in January 2007 and I was told I was good candidate. At the time, I wasn't in financial position to pursue it any further. Over the next 2 years I saved money, graduated from college (and am now working on my masters) and have a better job. To cover the rest of what I couldn't pay out of pocket, I used CareCredit, an elective surgery financing program by GE Money Bank. They have lots of different credit and interest rate options, but I have been very satisfied with the company and I have heard they have a high approval rate, but it depends on how big of a credit line you are requesting. My high weight was 361 and I'm now 248!! I've lost over 35 inches, the most of which has came from my hips, thighs, and waist. I've even lost 2 inches from my neck! :laugh:I've never had a self-esteem, image issue, but I have always had a fear of ending up with co-morbidities and an early death due to weight. I read so many stories of women in their 40's who said "if only I found this 20 years ago!" Well, I'm that woman, 20 years earlier saying I'm going to take control now. I had done that "this time next year I can be this weight and could lose this much." Time and time again that next year would come with another failed healthy lifestyle attempt, no exercise routine, and usually 25 to 30 pounds heavier than the year before. I consider myself intelligent and someone with a lot of good qualities and a lot to offer, but I'm also self honest. I just couldn't get ahold of my weight problem by myself and decided to do what was best for me. Loving the banded life so far!
