I find the Atkins low card Cafe Caramel and Cafe Mocha are very tasty. The only place I am able to find them on the shelf is the Vitamin Shoppe.

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since my surgery. Last week was difficult. I can't stand to look at another protein shake. My nutritionist gave me the ok to have mushy food. My post op visit with Dr Neuman took place on Wednesday. I told him my head said I'm hungry but my stomach felt fool. At this point, I can only tolerate about 5 sips of liquids and I get the choking feeling. I have lost 10 pounds since the surgery on top of the 31 pounds pre-surgery. I sure hope things improve as this is going to be difficult if this is going to be normal. The good news is many people have commented to me on my weight loss and I can finally get rid of my 1st set of real fat biy clothes. I'm now in fat boy clothes and I am looking forward to buying clotes that I could fit into when I was young and fit.

I am also 2 weeks post Op. My head says I'm hungry but my stomach says no. Does anyone have problems with thirts? I feel thirsty all of the time but can only manage 5 sips and then I get this choking feeling. I thought liquids would be easy to consume. -
Congratulations to you. I had mine done MOnday and I am totally pain free. Did you or anyone else have difficulty drinking even a sip of shake the first couple of days. I feel so overstuffed like I pigged out at the buffet. I wish you well!!!

I arrived with my wife at Wsley Long Hospital promptly at 10 AM for nonn surgery. After discussions with the nurses and Anesthesiologist I waited only about an hour. I was taken into sugery about 15 minutes early. Dr Newman and his team performed the surgery which took approximately 1 1/2 hours. The wait for a room was about an hour. Once in the room I met all the nurses and technicians. EVryone was veryattentive and helpful. I got out of bed within the hour to go to the rest room. I was provided with a 2 oz cup of ice which I immediately sucked down bbbecause my mouth was so dry. I asked for more and was told not for 4 hours. There was a definate drop off in service at night. The nurses were fine but th etechs were less than attentive. Minor inconvenience as if you look at the entire picture. I was awakened promptly at 4 AM to draw blood. At 6AM I was awakened again for a heperin shot. Finally, at 8 am I was wheeled downstairs for an x-ray. Dr Newman visited about 9:30 and ordered a protein shake (2 oz). After finishing the drink I got the hiccups. I was wheeled down to the hospital exit at 11:30. Overall, not much pain.

 My journey began last October when I attended a seminar in Greensboro, NC. The many tests are completed and tomorrow I will finally have my Lap Band surgery. I have read the many posts about the experiences of others and I an planning for the worst (pain) and hoping for the best. The only thing that is actually discomforting to me is being catheterized. I sure hope I can sleep well onight.
