  1. Yep, like everyone has said...you WILL know. The good thing is it does seem to pass fairly quickly. Warm liquids seem to help me when that happens. Congrats on your surgery! Just remember...tiny almond sized bites and  chew, chew, chew.... Good luck!
  2. My husband and I both look back at pics from when I was almost 300 pounds and just can't remember me ever looking like that! I know what you mean exactly! It all just kinda creeps up on ya!
  3. Congrats on your surgery! Glad you joined the group! It's a very useful place to be with lots of wonderful people ready to help! The people here have gotten me through a lot of things that my doc couldn't help with because he hasn't had the surgery. It's good to be able to talk with people that have been through it! Take care and welcome!

Mayo Banditos / Friday Weigh In !!!!

That scale is finally moving again!!! YAY!!!! I am down 103.4 pounds! Lost a pound last week after a month and half of plateaus and acid reflux!
  6. How long did it take you to loose the 139 pounds? That what I needed to loose too, I have 36ish more pounds to go but things have slowed down drastically! Has it been hard to maintain? That's the part I'm worried about! I've lost large amounts of weight before but just can't seem to keep it off! I'm hoping it'll be easier with my tool helping me!

    Restriction question

Hi Whillow! Yep, My band has been that way too. It's always tighter in the morning. Somedays I can eat 1/4 cup and feel full then the next day I eat 3/4 cup and feel like I could eat a lot more. I was banded May 1, 2009. Everyone's different as far as what they can and can not eat. Fortunately I haven't found anything that I can't eat yet...now chicken can be a bit trickey some days, but fine most of the time. Foods that are moist seem to work better for me. The crock pot is a great friend! Good luck with everything!

    Crazy Skinny Goals!

I had to laugh about your "chair" goal! LOL!!! My inlaws have those chairs!!! I've worried about sitting in them for 25 years! The last time I ate there...I actually didn't feel like I might go crashing down! Hadn't really though about it until your post. Good luck with everything!
  9. You bet! I love to help!

    Period started with surgery

YES! I also have PCOS and never had periods on my own. Always had to be "started" with medication. One week after my surgery I started on my own and have been -TO THE DAY-every since! It's the strangest thing! It took my husband and I six years to get pregnant and the last 4 of those were with fertility specialists! My daughter is now 16 and we haven't used birth control in all of those years...now they tell me that I will get pregnant if I don't use some form of Birth Control! Sure wish I would have done this a few years sooner...I'd be having that second baby I always wanted! I just wanted it before 40...
  12. Hi Doug! I noticed that we had surgery on the same day, I was May 1st also. How are you doing with your band?

  13. Hey Dawn! Thanks for the nice words...I feel so much younger!

I start the day with half an Atkins Protein bar and some fruit. First thing in the morning, my pouch can't handle much. Every 3 hours I have about 75% protein & 25% good carbs. I eat 5 times a day no more than 3/4 cup total. I exercise but not regularly like I should. I REALLY do need to start going to gym regularly and doing the weight circuit. My skin has done really well but after 100 pounds I think I do need to start toning up.

I think 80 pounds by the end of August is totally do-able, especially if you were just banded! I suggest keeping a journal of your food. 65-75 grams of protein and 29+ grams of fiber...Fiber is something you REALLY want to be faithful with! Skimping on that causes constipation pretty bad with the high protein diet! 64 ounces of water + is very important too. Well, hope I've helped ya...if ya have any more questions, feel free to ask! Good luck!

    102 pounds GONE!!!!!

Thanks! I feel great! I know once I get my fill, I'll start loosing again...it's hard to wait though, I REALLY like seeing that scale move down at least a little bit everyday. Guess I've been pretty spoiled up to now. I am very thankful for what I've lost so far, I love my band!
  23. Hi Lana, thanks for the sweet comments. How long have you had your band? Looks like you've done well! Only 20 more pounds to go! That's awesome! Keep up the good work!

  24. Thanks! I know what you mean! I've been on a plateau for a little bit and then I had to have an unfill due to reflux a week ago. I hate when that scale doesn't move at least a little downward every day! Good luck with your 240 goal! My next goal is 160, that's what I was when I first got pregnant with my now 16 year old daughter, that'll take a few months. Take care!Keep up the good work!:smile2:.

    Having a problem -- bummed.

Hi Ann! I am going through that very same thing right now! Waking up at night...mad dash to the bathroom with acid coming up about every hour through the night. As you said, SRY TMI.... I had a .5 unfill and to let my pouch rest and will be getting it put back in Feb. 2nd. Did you gain any weight back when you got your unfill? I am soooo worried about that. I really didn't want the unfill but know it was needed. Hope all is going well for you now!
