    freaking out!

I understand your nervousness. I too am waiting for approval. Hopefully all will go well for us both and we can become healthier & happier in our skin! Which insurance carrier do you have?
  2. There was a delay in submitting my information. The surgeon's office did not have my referral. The referral was eventually sent today so they will submit to the insurance company tomorrow. I am really getting nervous now. Please don't let this be a sign. Any encouraging words are greatly appreciated!
  3. Well my surgeon's office submitted my information today for approval. I am soooo nervous!!! I have Carefirst BlueChoice (MD) and was told that my plan does not require the 6 month supervised weight loss only the letter of medical necessity. I had my initial consult on 4/17, physical and PCP wrote the letter on 4/28, Nutrition and Psych eval 5/18 and submitting everything today 6/1. My surgeon's office actually schedules a tentative date for surgery prior to approval. Based on experience they believe the insurance company responds faster with a date. So if all goes well my surgery date will be July 2nd. I am so ready. God if it's for me it's mine!
  4. Today I completed my psych and NUT eval. I'm not quite sure of the next step so I will call the surgeon's office tomorrow. I have Carefirst BC/BS and hopefully they will be submitting my information for approval. :purplebananna: Any information from you experience will be so appreciated!
  5. Hello, In April I began the process of getting the lap band. I was informed that my insurance requires proof of 6 month weight loss attempts; Dr visits or memberships. For the past 3 years I have discussed my weight issues with my Dr and she would weigh me at each visit. She even prescribed phentermine for me but do to elevated BP she took me off. I meet with her every and/or every other month for at least a year. My concern is that it may not be enough for insurance approval. My Dr. believes it will be. What has been you experience? This newbie is a little nervous...
