I had surgery 9/8/09. I really didn't drink after, I had a few drinks on new years but that was it. I had my first fill a week ago, and last night I went out with friends for a birthday. I had one long island ice tea....I was gone! Now I cant stop throwing up, nothing is staying down today, I feel so sick. I know its prob the hangover that's making me feel so icky and throw up, but I am starting to worry.....could I have done anything to my band? My stomach is starting to get soar from all this throwing up :smile2:

I would love to know that too. I found I can eat solids, more soft food right now I really have not tried solid hard foods yet, but if we have to chew our food to a mush anyways...whats the point of pureed?

Ok so I had surgery on 12/8. Im really confused about a lot of things, maybe someone can help. 1) Im in the mushy stage, how much can you eat? I find that i can eat a lot right now, im not full after 1 cup not even close....not good. I don't get my first fill till 1/20, I feel like I can move to soft foods, ill haveto ask my doctor, but if I do what can it do? can it damage my band or make it slip??? What if i eat solids?? 2) I know they say no alcohol for a year, but will it hurt to have a little glass of vodka and cranberry on new years?? just wondering. What could that do?? 3) and the bread thing....verry confusing!!! I have heard like 5 different things, and its making me go crazyyy!! Can you eat it??? I have heard you will never be able to eat it again, or you can't eat it for 5 months after surgery....whats the deal? 4) How long after surgery can you start going back to the gym?? I walk right now, a lot. Like the mall or just around my street, but I would really like to go back to the gym. If anyone can help answer my questions, it really would be a huge help!!! oh one mroe thing...sorry My friend had sugery 12/2 and she was doing sooo good not smoking, I for one was really proud of her. She just startd smoking again....I tried telling her that it could damage the band, but she told me it couldnt. What can happen so I can get the right facts to tell her soshe will stop!!!!

oh I know where your comming from and trust me it hurts! I was banded 12/8 and the pain in my chest was so bad the only way it would feel better was when i was taking my meds. If it lasts for more then 2 days and doesnt ease up I would call your doc, mine still hurts 6 days after but not as bad as it did.

Ok so I had my surgery on tuesday (12/8) I was fine in the hospital but I got home and was in a crap load of pain!!!! I know its a lot of gas pain but I thought it was going away, but its 4 days later and im still in the same ammount of pain! Most people feel better in 1 or 2 but not me. I feel so much pressure in my stomach, right in the middle and it hurts really bad when I stand up to walk. I can barley take in my fluids because my stomach hurts so much and when I do put fluids into it, it hurts even more. can someone tell me if this is normal? and if im supposed to be in the same pain I was in when I got home from the hospital??:rolleyes2:

I know how you feel! I had surgery yesterday morning, (12/8) I did stay one night and I was on the morphine drip and I felt really good in the hospital. As soon as I got home tho it was a different story. I am in so much freaking pain!!! It feels like every move I make my stomach is going to split open. My doc gave me some liquid vicodin to take bu it doesnt seem to be working and on top of that I have a really bad pain in my right shoulder. I dont know what to do, I have been walking around and everything, it even hurts to breathe. someone helppp

I just got approved!!!! YAY and now they have me set up for surgery at the end of November!!! anyone else getting it done through the holidays?

What happens if you don't lose all the required weight they told you to lose? I have my apt with my surgeon tomorrow and I was supposed to lose 13 pounds but i have only lost 9, has anyone not lost the amount told, and if so what happened? pleaseeeee someone answer! ( it doesnt help that Im getting my period and i have all this extra water weight that I cant get rid of :mad2: )

Ok so I have my apt with the surgen on the 15th on july, and I sent in the form for the insurance company, but I need a letter from my PHP saying how I have tried to lose weight in the past using slimfast or whatever it is but heres the problem, when I started a diet i never talked to my doctor about it so im not to sure of what my doctor can do for that part....anyone have similar problems? if so what happened
