Donna, I forgot to post the flax meal muffin for you that asked for. Here it is: 1/4 cup flax meal 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 egg or equivalent eggbeaters 1 teaspoon light oil (I use olive oil) Mix all dry ingredients in a coffee mug, then add the egg & oil (I substitute unsweetened apple sauce for the oil) microwave for 1 minute - done! Guess i should try to figure out how many calories it is? good news is that it tastes just like bread but it's not a carb!! when I make it to have with my lunch or dinner i leave out the cinnamon & add garlic powder or whatever seasonoings I have a taste for. I found this on the internet a long time ago. Ok, ladies, Sorry!! this will be my last post about food!!!! I know this isn't helping the situation since we're all trying to stop thinking about food so much!!!!!!

Ok, i can't believe so many of you have never had spaghetti squash - diet rookies!! I'm so glad that everybody likes it though - I live on that stuff! Tina, your daughter is too cute! Good for her that she'll never have any of the weight issues we suffer from. I'm not a big believer it self help therapy - that's probably why it never works for me - but, at this point, I'll try anything. so far, it's right on! It knows all my cheating excuses-lol. It's written by a cognitive therapist and it's telling me to "talk back" to my "sabotaging thoughts".... We'll see but you can definately have it when I'm done! Nicole, I am with you on the Cauli-mash! Just be sure, Tina, to use a food processor and not a hand masher - they just don't get smooth with a hand masher! I love to add a little seasalt, pepper & fresh garlic. I'm told you can also run cauliflower through a ricer, mix it with shredded cheese & bake it - it makes a crispy crust for pizza - never tried it cuz i can't cook so let me know. My favorite is to use the squash like a baked ziti - little marinera sauce, ricotta cheese, garlic & italian seasonings -bake it - yummy! Tina's right, they are big! Lucky for me it's way to healthy for my husband to truly enjoy it LOL YES, UVERSE SUCKS! maybe not but I don't enjoy it as much as comcast. I wanna switch back.

Hahaha, Riley, I'm gonna call this "the last yo-yo" - and stop looking in my grocery basket - you too Tina - LMAO. Nicole, lets do it! but i must warn u that i suffer from chronic migraines - LOL. Call your Doctor & have him call in a prescription for Maxalt ASAP. It's one minty little pill that desolves under your tongue - works in about 15 minutes.. Crave on.... There are worse things to crave than spaghetti squash!!! I've started this book & its telling me it can cure me - hehehe - I hope so.

Hi ladies, boy you're busy today - took me 3 pages of reading to catch up just from this morning - LOL. Tina, you make me laugh! Did you youtube the squash - hahaha. Hope you like it! Heather - glad you enjoyed dinner. Did your boyfriend like it? I like that is has very low calories and you can use it to bulk up (for us non banded girls) most meals with it. Nicole, Glad things went well with the inlaws. True, you can't completely trust their motives as of yet but for now, enjoy them & just keep being you - they will fall in love with you. I know we've never met but you appear, to me, to have an awsome personality so, what's not to love?? I'm so sorry about your knee and all the other crap going on but that which doesn't break you makes you stronger!! You're still losing weight through all this - whoop whoop!! I do have to be stricked on myself because I have failed at this journey so many times - can you believe that 7 years ago I was 160 lbs and look where I am now - grrr!! I'm a slacker - one of the people whom if you give a rope I will hang myself - or give me an inch & I'll take a mile - only with the food/weight loss thing. F'ed up thing is the scale isn't really moving. I've yo-yo dieted so long that my body's hates me - LOL Let this be the last yo-yo! I bought a book today that was recommended to me - the beck diet solution.. Heard of it? It's not a diet but more like a self help book to fix the head - we'll see! Sorry i won't be there tomorrow - sadness Maybe we can pick a Tuesday far in advance to give EVERYBODY (and I mean everybody) time to make it happen - how nice would it be for all of us to be there!! Reggie & Candy - feel better soon. I know this sounds crazy but I'd trade places with either one of you in a heart beat LOL Off to read my self help book now - have a great evening all

Oh, Riley, I love your idea about the cheese wedge & melted spread! i haven't tried the tofu noodles yet but I'm on it!! Hey Heather, How was dinner?? Hi Tina, You can get the spaghetti squash at any store with produce in it - I get it at safeway. It looks like an oval shaped melon & it's yellow. I cut it in half long ways before I microwave it then when its done I turn it sideways & scrape it out with a fork. I'm sure you can youtube it LOL. Oh, it has seeds in the middle like a melon & you just scrape them out first the same way as a melon before you cook it. I went to a barbaque today & messed up! I didn't realize the chicken was made with taryaki sauce!! SUGAR!! Oh, well, couldda been worse. All I had was a small chicken thigh (they didn't have breasts) & salad. none of the other delicious food that was sittin buffet style on the table - grrrr! That sugar is gonna cost me but it is getting easier to just say no. night night

Aww, Thanks, Tina!! Oh, Donna, I know you told me to post this but i forgot - oops. For those of you who can't take the carbs but crave something sweet - here is the simplest childhood favorite of mine: Mix: ricotta cheese sweetener to taste flavored extract to taste (I like rasberry) Also, I'm a pasta gal but now i use spaghetti squash & I bake it with some sauce (I use canned tomatos & pressed garlic) & ricotta cheese. I cook the squash in the microwave first due to lazyness LOL but then you just bake it like ziti! My brothers kids even like it! ah, mangiatti!!

Back from the pool - It was empty today so that was nice. It's easier to swim the laps non stop when nobody is there to get in your way. I really feel the difference! I brought my niece with me today in her size small bakini (grrr) and she use to be on a swim team a few years back but the first thing she said was "I forgot how hard this was" hahaha Hey Nicole, Yeah, swimming was great! Glad to hear you're wearing shorts!! I can't wait to cross my legs comfortably - I carry alot of my weight in my thighs - ugh! I don't know if this helps but in the beginning I had a hard time with my in-laws too. When we went visit or any of them came here I was just myself! take me or leave me. 17 years later, it's all good now. Just be you girl, the best you that you can be!!! You don't have to be nice but be polite & they'll come around. I don't think i'll be able to make it Tuesday - I have to be in Marin, an hour & a half away from there, by 2:30 to pick up my nephew from school. I will see if I can make other arrangements but, as of now, i don't thinks so! I'm bummed about that because i want to meet ALL of you! Next time!!

Off to the Have a great day ladies

OK you girls, you're starting to scare me - LOL. Glad I got rid of the carbs because since I cut it out I've lost the 4lbs I gained and in only 3 days! I'm not big on exercise but last night my hubby wasn't home & I got up & walked by myself! Big step for me. We have this huge hill we call gigantor two streets over and he makes me walk up it but I skipped it last night. haha Hey Nicole, I live in Vallejo. How bout you? I can't wait till my thighs don't rub together anymore hahahaha. I do have swim shorts - My step daughter just got them for me - whoop whoop! They are from torrid so they go all the way past my knees - mens swim shorts do the same. Donna I will look for you all on the right - mid back of room  Can't wait to meet everybody!!!!! Reggie, sorry you're in pain but I'm happy for you! I can't wait to be a bandster too. Then, maybe, I won't feel so out of the loop all the time and will know exactly what you all are talking about - LOL.

Reggie, I'm sure you are already at kaiser but I'm thinking about you - can't wait to read your next post. Nicole, thanks for the pep talk. I did jump on the scale this a.m. and have lost 2 of the 4 pounds that I gained. I cut out all carbs. Guess my body just doesn't do well with them. My husband has been pretty good but he messed me up a little yesterday - LOL. We are both home together on Tuesdays so we walked in the morning for 45 minutes & again in the evening for 45 minutes. He's hard to keep up with but I'm hanging tough. So, here's where he tried to mess me up. He got me a DIET COKE as a reward for doing so well on our walks. He thought he was doing good but I let him know that those are no longer in my rewards list - neither is cheese cake - LOL. I got weak & took a sip of it then poured it down the sink :cursing:. Surprisingly though, it wasn't that hard to do :cursing:. Donna, thanks for thinking of me. I will be at there Saturday if I don't get lost. I'm not familiar with Sac but I'm sure I'll find my way. Does anybody know the address of that Kaiser? PS: I keep chickening out at the pool! Really can't stand the thought of my cellulite ridden thighs on display like that LOL. Have a gread day ladies!!

I hear you loud & clear Reggie - LOL. I was afraid to deviate from the diet but not now - I will stay within 1200 cal but back to cutting out carbs. Don't worry bout surgery - you will do great!

    Kaiser Richmond Pre-op

Christine, that was great. This was my first time seeing your youtube site & I watched all your videos. You are too cute! I didn't realize how great you did on your own with the 1200 cal diet. You have greatly inspired me to get on it!
  14. Just wanted to say Hi & that you are a GREAT inspiration! I'm just beginning this - don't have a surgery date yet but started the pre op diet! Struggling but your pics are a huge help!

  15. Hi Trish,

Read your post bout not being able to stop overeating & I have the same problem. What has helped is my husband doing the same thing your mom does LOL Also, cut out carbs all together, they are trigger foods that make you want more. Something to do with a chemical reaction in your brain. You are not as big as you think you are - this picture of you is beautiful. You are very pretty and don't need to be so harsh on yourself! Try one of the support groups in your area - it really helps to meet & hang out with people who are going through the same thing as you are - doing it with somebody else talkes a lot of the pressure off! You will have somebody to bounce ideas off of!!

    Best of luck pretty girl

Yes, Riley, that does help - a great deal!! I absolutely LOVE cream of wheat & sweet potatos but you & I are the same in that once I start eating it - i just don't want to stop. The cream of wheat does fill me up for quite some time but I think I'll do without it! I'm trying to get into an exercise routine! It's so hard to get started!! Got a 1.5L bottle of water sittin in front of me right now! I figure I gotta drink 1 & 1/2 of these at the very least. I found the same thing with the chicken, dry - LOL. Chewing it 30 times pretty much turns it to mush though. I use crystal hot sauce on it - LOVE IT - it helps keep it moist! I can only assume that I will have to give that up too even if it does have zero cals.

Hi Tina, It was me that asked about the 1200 calorie diet. I must be the only 1200 calorie reject because today I weighed myself & I apparently gained 4lbs since Tuesday - Hmmm? I think I must be geared to no carbs like you - before I started this diet I hardly ate any - even if I got a burger in the drive thru I wouldn't eat the bun & no fries - I'd have a salad with full fat dressing haha & a diet coke - out to breakfast would usually be an omelet with no hash browns or toast but I'd get tomato slices with full fat rance dressing. I was once told that once you cut carbs out of your diet you can never add them back or you will gain weight instantly - maybe that holds true for me. It could also be that I laid in bed from Thursday night till Sunday morning and did absolutely nothing due to the constant headache I had! My migraine pills (Maxalt) didn't even work - excederine took the edge off a little but then we are back to caffeine! I did walk for 45 minutes with my husband on Sunday! Today I woke up feeling fabulous! in spite of the 4lb weight gain - I am ready to rock! At 6:30 this morning my husband got up with me and power walked again for 45 minutes around the neighborhood - I ate 1/2 a chicken breast for breakfast wtih 1/2 cup green beans & 1/2 cup (60 cal) yogurt. I packed my lunch - same thing as breakfast LOL - to bring to the office with me today - helping out a friend! but I think after this I will cut out all carbs! I got a swim dress (yes a swim "DRESS") and am going to bring my fat ass to the pool tonight - I didn't make it last night! I brought it with me and am going straight there after I leave here because once I get home I know I will not go back!! Thanks, again Tina - it's a big help to know that I don't have to follow this so strickly! Hope these next 10 days go by quickly for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Heather - WOW! what's your secret girlfriend?? Happy Monday ladies!!

Hi Heather, So, don't take this the wrong way because I'm so not happy that you are struggling but so glad that I'm not the only one finding this VERY difficult - lol. Keep at it though, cuz I need you! Reggie & Tina, Were you two given food guidelnes? The "diet" I got said that breakfast should be 3 servings protein, 1 serving fruit, 1 serving dairy, 1 serving carbs & serving fat. Lunch & Dinner need to be 3 servings protein, 2 servngs veggies, 1 serving fruit, 1 serving carbs & 1 fat. Do I not have to follow this? Should I exchange the servings of fruit & carbs for protein or just cut out those servings? dont think I can live on just 3oz of protein for each meal - LOL i did get up and walk with my husband this morning for 45 minutes. He was kind enough to slow it down a little for me since I'm soooo outta shape. I plan to hit the gym pool tonight - after everybody else is gone! My husband has a PS3 in the living room, I can get a wii for my bedroom but it's not very big, do you need alot of room do to the exercises? My next door neighbor is so cute. I told her i was trying to lose wight and she said that i need to start doing things for myself to make me feel pretty to keep up the motivation - she's 21, thin & beautiful! She's mexican and has the perfect olive skin tone, anyway, she's waiting on me right now - she's going to shape my eyebrows for me :rolleyes2: and later we are going shopping for new panties - LOL Have a great day ladies

Thanks Pam. Don't know why I'm having such a blah day!! To make things worse, I just tallied up my calories for yesterday on fitday and I went over - 1287 oops! Will try to do better today - it's a learning process and still way less than I usually eat. hahahaha. Now about exercize... Where to begin! Would love to hear how you girls started with your exercize regiments!!

Good Morning Ladies, I've been reading your posts this morning and am so glad that everybody got the same feeling from Dr. Fisher. I thought I was trippin! I have my appt with him on June 3rd but since he seems so anit-band I'm wondering if he's the right Doctor for me... So this 1200 Calorie diet isn't as easy as I initially thought!! I did great till 4:00 yesteday evening - routinely I sit on my bed with a bag of almonds and snack away while watching The Doctors. Not yesterday and hopefully not today. I now fully understand the term "head hunger" I wasn't physically hungry but I absolutely could not watch my show and not snack so I had to go wash my car & keep busy. I missed the doctors. I had a slight headache still from the diet coke withdrawl so I took more excedrine after dinner and laid down - then it hit me! Excedrine has caffeine in it - grr!! This is where all the anxiety kicked in - can I really do this for the rest of my life - "forever" is such a long time - and "never" is even longer - never have pasta again, never have diet coke again, never have peanut butter again... So I woke up this morning happy that I made through yesterday but worried about today. I got on this site and read everybody's logs, saw all your progress and I WILL do this. THANK GOD FOR THIS SITE AND ALL YOU GIRLS THAT HAVE GONE BEFORE ME - LOL. I come from a long line of drug addicts & alcoholics and did my very best not to become an addict - I don't drink, smoke or do any kind of drugs but turned out to be an addict anyway-food addict! So I will approach this like atticts do: Take this one day at a time and keep it as simple as possible - forever will come on its own! Have a great fill, Christine!

Anybody know the rules about lemon juice? I love to put a little on my veggies with garlic but I don't see it on the list of approved 1200 cal diet stuff? I've been on a 1000 diets and they've all lemon juice but I don't want to be presumptuous (sp?) and use it if I'm not suppose to????
