Hi All:blush: Tina & Sheena - glad all went well for both of you! I have a quick questions regarding the pre-op diet. I've been logging my food the last couple of days and I've been averaging about 900 cals per day - Do I have to hit the 1200 mark? I'm trying to be so careful not to mess up my 3 meals per day but since I've cut the carbs out my calorie level is lower. Any thoughts on this?

See, I don't think I really have that! I do have flat feet though. I might just have to make an apt with the pediatrist. Somethings gotta give. This is why I prefer swimming but my husband won't do that with me. I need to get to the point where I don't need him to exercise. I tell ya, though, if it wasn't for him I'd probably never do it. I hope this book I'm reading really does help to change my mindset LOL Thanks for the info!!

WOW, Riley, you are a trooper!!! Guess I really need to step up my game - LOL I do have a pedometer, not an Omron though - I will google it! My husband got me New Balance running shoes... Are they as good as he thinks they are? - hahaha. I have a pain across the top of my left foot that has been killing me for about 6 weeks now. I went in to see my Doctor and he said I had plantar Faciatis too but I don't think that's it. I thought plantar faciatis was lengthwise across the bottom of the foot. Hmmm? Anyway, He didn't do any tests or look at it really, he just said the usual "lose weight" Same thing he said about my migraines & sleep apnea LOL. You are my new muse

Hi Riley, Girl, where do you get the energy??? I would love to know how you got started on that walking/jogging regiment. I've been trying to do the 10,000 steps thing & I've gotten up to 7,000 only - I have no idea if that is even a mile! I thought after a week or so it would start to get easier but it's not. Did you follow some type of endurance program?

For the signature you need to go to your profile. In the box under your name you'll see the customize profile link - click on that & on the left side under the Settings & options box you'll see the edit signature link - click on that & type away! I don't know how to do the weight loss ticker yet, though

Self help books never really worked for me before but this one seems to be right on. I have always treated my hunger as an emergency! I would think, "my stomech made a noise - stop everything and grab the first edible thing you can find." This book says to talk back to that little sabotaging voice in your head - it works! But yes, my tummy is growing - quite loudly! This is really a new feeling for me since I never use to let myself get this hungry before - LOL So, I just got out my big jug of water - thanks for reminding me

Hi Maria, The meetings are from 11:00 - 1:00 at Kaiser Point West. 1650 Response Rd, Sacramento. Wish I could help on the creative eating issues but I'm not there. I don't think you are allowed dessert. I was told 3 meals a day only. But one of the pro's on here will know better than me. I'm a no carb person. Carbs just keep me fat! You can read back about our spaghetti squash if you haven't already done so - LOL. I'm a big fan of it and also Ricotta cheese. Last night I had a frittata. 2 eggs, 1 oz cheese, 2 oz each, tomato, onion, bell pepper & mushrooms. Today I have a 1/2 bell pepper stuffed with the same veggies from above with 1oz cheese melted on top & 2oz of pork chop for lunch. Breakfast was 3oz fresh mozzarella (the kind that comes inthe water pack) & tomato slices rolled in fresh basil leaves. The thing I have the hardest with is eating proteins first. I'm not a huge meat eater - not a vegetarian - but always carbs - grrr! These ladies on here lost so much weight on this pre op diet they will surely be able to tell you some of the things they ate!

Ok, so I never use to eat anything till about 1:30 or 2:00 - the last few days I have eaten breakfast and have been hungrier! I ate breakfast this morning around 7:30 and now my stomech is growling & it's only 11:00. Is this normal?? It's ok, though, my new book has taught me that it's ok to be hungry for a little while untill lunch time

Good Morning Ladies! Nicole: I'm on the no bfast & midnight snacking league! I see a pattern here - guess this is what got us where we are today - LOL. AND NO THEY DIDN'T BRING UP BODY ISSUES!! I know me & I would have made some smart ass remark in return. Wish Mike luck for me and the septic tank issue is a blessing in disguise! Enjoy it! Jes: No Worries, Girl - I'v been gaining weight on this crazy diet - I have figured out my errors and in the last two days lost 1lb - it's SLOW for me to. But, it will come off!! We are in this together - I'm very thankful for the girls on this site that have been thru it already and their eagerness to help!! What is this Richmond group meeting you speak of?? I will be there at 3:30 to meet with Dr. Fisher. Riley: I am so with you on the chin & body hair - yeah!! Maria: Thanks for the offer - I'd love to learn spanish! My sister in law speaks it fluently too. She's not helpful at all, she has 4 children and she didn't teach any of them to speak spanish - it's such a helpful tool when looking for a job too. You'll find another job soon enough!! Tina: Hope that headache is gone. Hope all is going well for you at Kaiser - I'm going to check out your new photo album today. I started logging all my food yesterday - maybe you can tell me where I'm going wrong - LOL Heather: Social group sounds great, now I just got to figure out how to get to it & work it - LOL. My Scale is finally going in the right direction too - only down 2lbs but down is down for me hahahaha Reggie & Candy: I sure hope recovery is going well for you two - I hope I am as successful with the pre-op diet as you both were!! Sheena: You did it! It's all down hill from here - well, maybe not but life will be better!!
  10. Hi Heather,

Just checkin in with you!! Hope you're feeling better now

  11. Just wanted to stop by & say HI! Miss you on the Forum :)

It's "The Beck Diet Solution, How to Think Like A Thin Person" The cover is Neon Pink. They say a good self help book can be better than years of therapy so I thought I'd give it a whirl. Last night I told myself that it's ok to not feel Stuffed! It's ok to be hungry, it won't kill me & it's not painful. I was able to talk myself out of snacking until I passed out - LOL We can pass it around - I will finish it by the next meeting - Tina gets it then and then you can have it after her

I did the Demo for Rosetta Stone & it was cool - I got the CD's from Pinsleur so I could put it on my Ipod - I got most the way thru it then stopped - It's been so long that I don't even remember 1/2 of it - That's my other MO - I get bored & don't finish what I start - hahaha. Hey, Riley - this book I'm reading tells you to talk back to your head! Say: Do you really want 5 minutes of pleasure or a lifetime of thin... something along those lines. It's cognitive therapy - only on page 34 though - it's a little boring to read.

Hi Newbie  Ok, so Tina, Maria & I are triplets!! Maria, I just went to orientation two weeks ago and am struggling with it - the first week I gained weight! Took it off & gained it back! Grr! It is truly a whole new world and I'm trying to learn the language. I can't be much help to you right now but tina & the rest of the girls are AMAZING. They are always ready to help!! Hey Tina, aren't the meetings in Sac the 4th Saturday of the month??? It's funny that you said you were looking into spanish lessons - I'm trying to learn Italian. I got CD's - the classes are like 500.00 and I need to save that for my tummy tuck later - LMAO. Maybe we should put together a "Midnight Support Group" for the late night snackers. Wonder if Sheena's out yet!!

Good Morning Ladies: Nicole: Yes, I think 3oz is crazy - my ground turkey patties that I was eating were almost 5oz & I thought those were small! 1/4 cup really hurts my feelings - LOL. I have my sergeon apt. with Dr. Fisher next week so I will definately discuss it with him - I would love to be banded in two months! I need to be sure I have this lifestyle down first! I think, now, I have a better understanding of what I've been doing wrong. My prayers are with you & Mike!! I hope it all works out!! Tina: I really don't think I'll be anywhere near my goal weight by next Wednesday - LOL! I know you only had to lose 12lbs but I think they will have me do more since I'm bigger than you were & older!! I got my big 3L of water with me today on my desk. Already 1/2 way done with it!! I feel like I'm constantly drinking & don't even have time to miss my Diet Coke. Your MO is so my MO - we could be twins. I still have such a hard time with breakfast. I'm not a morning person. Yesterday, my husband & I had so much running around to do in the morning that I didn't eat anything until 12:15. I know I'm not suppose to skip meals. This morning I ate breakfast at 6:30 and now I'm already hungry. I don't get hungry this early when I don't eat breakfast - Hmmmm... I'm use to eating nothing till about 2 or 3 then eating nonstop for the rest of the night. I have learned that I eat mostly out of boredom! It's only late night when I'm had home that I really, really want to snack.

Holy smokes! I just used my scale for the first time and boy is it great but, Holy Smokes - 3oz of protien is about 1/2 of what I've been eating - LOL. Guess i know what the problem is now!!!

Not sure how many oz are in a 3L jug but It better be enough! when I drink this much I pee all night! I'm gonna start diligently logging - maybe I can bring it to the next meeting & you girls can look at it for me

Thanks, Riley, my next shot is at the end of august so I'm sure I won't have a surgery date till after then & I won't get that shot! But i will definately reitterate to them that I'm on the shot - I did put it in my report that I have to give to Dr. fisher on the 3rd. Water, water, water.. I got a big 3L just of arrowhead from safeway today & I just finished it - It helped today to have that one big jug!

Ah, Riley, a voice of reason once more - LOL. No, I won't give up, i want this too bad! I did cut out all my carbs starting last week but have not been keeping on my water! Also, I haven't been logging everything I eat & I didn't have a scale so I've been comparing everything to my deck of cards - LOL However, my husband got me a fancy new digital scale today so I can weigh my foods accurately!! Have you thought of taking the lakeville highway from Petaluma down to hwy 37 to Vallejo then over to hwy 80? this way you won't be doubling back from Richmond to Pinole and it may be faster! Sorry to hear about your headache, Tina! I definately know how they can ruin your life!! I had one this morning - woke me up at 4:30 - I'm tellling you guys that Maxalt really does take the edge of so you can go on about your day! Just makes you a little sleepy & high feeling - LOL Hey Nicole - your headache finally gone? QUESTION: I recall them saying that you need to stop your birth control 3 weeks prior to surgery - I get the depo shot - anybody else get that? I just got my shot today and wondered since it lasts 3 months if I should have done that??

I like the measuring tape Idea - wear it around your waist like a belt - LOL. Being weight loss specialists I'd think they would understand the importance of measurements. Don't stress, the scale with drop down in no time. I'm telling you I can't cook! The faux baked ziti was a fluke.
