Hi Donna - great to hear from you miss lady!! I have forgiven him - I always fogive the F'd up crap he does but i won't forget! I don't talk to him about the band at all anymore - just keep doin what I'm doin and when my surgery date comes he'll deal with it or he won't - If he can't suppot me on this then he can step! I'll be skinny & cute soon enough and I can find a new husband that won't care if I have the band or not - hahahahahaha. I can definately meet up with you all on the 25th - just need to know how late you all will be there - I can be there by 1 or so and i will be bringing my camera!!! Hey Tina, i dont recall the reason you gave them for being off work - what illness you said you had but is there any way to incorporate that you can't tolerate carbonation?? ulcers or something to that effect? I've told my pals that I've given up soda because it's becoming too much of an addiction and i don't drink enough water when I have it. that it gives me headaches if I don't drink enough of it now. -

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TINA!!!!!! A little ice cream on your birthday isn't bad at all - isn't that one of the reasons you did lap band and not RNY - so you can still have a "normal" life? 2.5 inches in only 3 weeks is great! Damn that crystal light - grr.. Sorry for the people that got laid off but glad it wasn't you!! HEATHER... I will bring the copy of Beck diet solution to the sac class this month - It's ok - the main thing that I got from it is that it's OK to be hungry. It's not a crisis and i don't have to stop everything and grab the first unhealthy thing I can get my hands on! Hunger has always been a crisis for me - LOL. You got so much going on - and back to school too... this time next year you are going to be a competely different person - who's gonna recognize you? LOL MOLLYMAI: One of the greatest things I've learned from the ladies on this thread is that your life HAS to be about YOU! and what is best for YOU. If your husband truly loves and trusts you, he will learn to deal with your success - if he doesn't then he doesn't truly love you - at least, that's what I told my husband LOL. Im certain that he does love your body the way it is but do you? You and I are in such similar situations - My husband is in tip top shape and just doesn't understand what it feels like to be trapped in this body of mine. Live your life for you and your husband will follow - just be mindful of his insecurities and reassure him that other men and their attentions don't mean a thing to you! I told my husband that when I'm smaller, healthier, happier and feel sexier in my skin our sex life will greatly improve - he was down for that . Good luck and keep coming back because these ladies will give you the motivation and inspiration you need to succeed in your weight loss - even if you decide not to get the surgery - weight loss is still weight loss!!!! COME TO THE SACRAMENTO CLASS ON THE 27TH - PLEASE -

Oh, and Tina, 1 carb = 4 cals so since there isn't 1 full carb there's maybe 3 cals from the carbs and I don't know where the other 2 cals come from - maybe protein because there is some soy lecithin in it... Is there a dietician in the house? LOL -

Good for you, Riley - enjoy yourself a couple times a year - that's what life is all about! 1 gain 4lbs looking at a slice a bread so if you can party for a few days on a 4lb budget I'm jealous - LOL - you know you'll take it right back off! -

Reggie, you're funny! Your husband is going to go into shock soon with all the weight you're droppin. I dont have it down at all girl - I am very metabolically challenged - LOL. I literally have to eat 4 meals of 200 cal per day to lose weight and it has to be ZERO carbs! I have messed my body up with 25 years of yo-yoing! Tina, the container says 5 calories per serving but yet everything listed is "0" The cals have to come from somewhere and the law states that if it has less than 1 gram it doesn't have to be listed. The 3rd ingredient in it is Maltodextrin & 5th is aspartame - those are both carbs so I have to assume the 5 calories come from that - maybe .9 g per serving so 8, 8oz servings is probably 7.2 g. something like that and I may be completely wrong! I have to say that i am very sorry for all the work stress you all are going thru. Its so tough out there right now. Nowhere to go but up from here! -

Thanks, Ladies, for your support! I have been stressed and is shows - I've gained 1.5 pounds and don't even know how - I haven't strayed from my "diet' at all - well - i have been drinking crystal light alot more than water and, regardless what the containers say - each servings as just shy of 1 carb - so eight servings is real close to 8 carbs - i just don't do well with them! Goodness, diet coke, americano's, my caffeine and now my crystal light -grrrr! anyway, Reggie, you touched on something! I've actually lost 4 inches in my waist and I don't know if it's my confidence level or what but my husband made a comment the day before he called me weak when we were at the grocery store about some man "looking" at his "wife". Maybe that's what triggered it! I mean, He had been so supportive and talking about 12lbs to go, 11lbs to go and so on... and then suddenly I'm "weak". Hmmmm?? How's your husband doing with it all now? Since you've lost weight? Maybe I should've been a single mom - make me tough! you know? -

Oh, Riley, I sure wish I knew what he was thinking by telling me that - the only thing I can think of is that he feels that he can change my mind since I'm losing it on my own right now. Have have yo-yo dieted my whole life and it has been real hard on my body - I'm not talking 10 or 15 pounds - I'm talking about fluctuating as much as 50 pounds! I literally have to eat absolutely NOTHING but protein to lose and only 1000 cals a day - i've been eating 1/2 cup of protein 4 times per day. That's it! How long does he think I can keep this up? We went to Target the other day and the first thing he does is get popcorn - "want some?" he asks. All I could say was "no thanks" and I was starving! Before he called me weak that wouldn't have bothered me - we go to the movies and he gets popcorn, candy & a soda and I get water. No big deal - until now! Now i know what he thinks of me! No, I didn't tell him how crushed I was - He already thinks I'm weak - couldn't prove that by telling him he hurt my weak little feelings - LOL - I told him how pissed i am that he could judge me on something he's never had to deal with and knows absolutely nothing about! Sorry to vent -

Tina, I'm with you on the disliking exercise. I wish I knew how to change my mindset on that - hypnotherapy perhaps :tongue_smilie: I can't think of anything fun to do for exercise either - I like the dancing idea but you need a partner and my husband is not into that at all. Anyone know how to play tennis? Is it hard?? might be a moot point anyway, not many tennis courts in Vallejo hahahaha -

You're right, Tina - I just have to do what's best for me! I was just so shocked - I honestly had no idea he felt that way - he has been so so so supportive. I guess he figured that I would change my mind once I saw that i could do it on my own. Jokes on him LOL! my parents, if they were still alive, would have been againt it to - my dad's favorite thing to say to me was "just put the fork down & shut your F'in mouth" My brother won't approve at all - he lives with us right now so I don't know how I'm going to sneek the operation & recovery past him but I'm determined to do so. SHEENA REIS :tongue_smilie: BABY - YOU LOOK HOT! congratulations on your success! Keep up the great work -

I can't remember the last time I wanted to cry this much! but I won't - I absolutely will not give this man the satisfaction!! As my husband and I were walking tonight he let me know that he feels WLS is for the weak! Here I thougt he was being so supportive - in all actuality he's supporting my decision to lose weight because he's tired of having a fat wife but thinks I should just keep doing what I'm doing and not get banded - I can't tell you how many times I've lost weight just to gain it all back - he's always been in great shape and can maintain, therefore we all should be like him. I'm discouraged now! and my feelings are hurt!! -
Hi KristyMadrid, I saw your introduction in our Kaiser Richmond social group. this is a great site! We have an ongoing thread - search Kaiser Richmond Pre Op. all the girls on there have a wealth of info. I haven't been banded yet but there are girls at all different levels of the journey and they are always eager to help & answer questions!! hope to see you there!!!!!!
-
Hi Valeygirlvamp - to get started on the journey with Kaiser, your PCP has to refer you to the bariatrics department. Kaisers requrements are that you have a BMI of 40 or above. Be firm with your Doctor and tell him this is what you want and ask for the referral!

I agree with you about Robin - I've never actualy met her though - just listened to her at orientation & then heard her conversation yesterday. She shouldn't have said anything about that girl to anybody else, but if she felt the need to vent - she shouldn't have done it in front of me & my husband - or any other patient. It just makes me not want to meet with her because once I leave, who knows what she'll say about me and to whom. I went through many years of Ala-teen & Ala-non and the stuff in that book sounds like what we learned in those sessions - in less technical terms - LOL. I don't know what the relation to carbs & us white folks but I do know that sugar has a dopamine effect and that causes the head hunger roll. Since I've cut it out I haven't had that head hunger as much - just when I smell something sweet i find it extremely hard to walk away - "Hi, name is Candra and I'm a food addict" -

WHOO HOO - ONE-DERLAND!!!!! GO RILEY, GO RILEY, GO RILEY. Gongratulations girl - you did it! Got tired of the scenic route, didja?? LOL yeah, Tina, I liked her - she asked me about the president too and I just answered - it was when she asked me where I was that I got me started - LOL. I told her about these little 1/2 cup containers when she asked what I was doing to prepare for this - I told her she should start handing out packs of them to her clients. It has relly helped me not to over-eat. I don't have to think about it - just grab one & that's that. so sorry about your head hunger ladies - I haven't been feeling that latetly at all but I do know the feeling as if it was a parasitic twin of mine. It must be because I've removed all carbs. Dr. Fisher said "caucasions don't do well with carbs" LOL. He said to get rid of them all with the exception of low carb, non starchy veggies. He even said to get rid of the fruit! It really works!! Oh, while I was waiting for Dr. Schnurr, Robin came in and was talking crap about some girl to the other ladies in the room - about how "she needs to put down the spoon - She should be way beyond where she is since she had RNY." So, Tina, I think that just may be in her nature to expect everything to happen overnight - don't let her tell you your weight loss isn't fast enough!! -

Good Morning Ya'll! Go, Tina, with your 9000 steps! I've been slacking. I had this sucky cold that has now turned into a sinus infection so I haven't been walking - can't breathe. We did start again this morning since my breathing has gotten better but, boy, after not walking at all for 3 days it's like starting from the beginning where it seems so so hard again. Only 3 days! I really hate to exercise and I think I'd just rather not eat at all! Unrealistic, I know, but a girl can dream. Riley, don't worry about one-derland! You'll get there-you're just taking the scenic route - LOL. Hope you feel better soon! I have been so desperate to get to my surgery weight that I've cut out ALL carbs completely - I got those little glad containers from safeway - the 1/2 cup sized ones - and I prepare 4, 1/2 cup servings of protein (tuna, chicken or egg salad with sugar free mayo) and I just eat 1 of those every 4 hours (8,12,4,8) and drink 3L of water (crystal light) a day. I've lost 8lbs since June 3rd! - 6 to go!! Amazing thing is I'm less hungry now than ever. The first 2 days was oh so hard but it's easy now! Tomorrow I will start to add some low carb veggies - salad greens. YOU ROCK HEATHER! 30lbs is so fantastic - you should put up pictures - I hope you took your measurements. I did the day of orientation and i can't tell you how depressing that was! Have you had your phych appt yet? I saw Dr. Schnurr yesterday and she said "you're not typical of the people I usually see". Really don't know what she meant by that but I guess it wasn't too bad because she passed me! If you haven't had it yet don't worry about it - the questions are really simple. Well, I'm off to get my feet done! -

I got that head hunger too! my brother is a fabulous cook & he's been BBQ all weekend! God, grant me the serenity to accept the fact I can not overeat, the courage to stop eating when my portions are done and the wisdom to know the difference - LOL. Tina, I've said this before, if it wasn't for my husband, I wouldn't be walking at all - we did 8,000 steps this morning alone and I swear he's gonna push me all the way to divorce court. Seriously, it really helps to have a walking buddy - there's a couple website called exercisefriends.com & meetup.com - maybe you can find somebody close to to walk with until you find your own motivation - I'm still looking for mine! What is it about this WLS that makes your hair fall out?
