    Kaiser Richmond Pre-op

Ok, gonna try this "quote" thing again! I know i won't hate it - it's just doing something so drastic (for lack of a better word) to my body is something I'd never even consider in the past LOL I don't even have children!! Anway, I know that within the next 4 weeks I will be banded buecause my labs are done and Sarah said that we need to get this done in 4 weeks!

Ok, so I can't do this whole quote thing! But I found a couple of posts from you, Nicole, that I missed LOL. Lets do it - tonight or next week - whatever you want!

No, I didn't see it! I will go back and find it Oh, yes, Tamra - a sundress with the littlest flip flops is how to get weighed in.

I hope it clicks for me too because I'm having a hard time with that one. Mainly, I think, it's because I have the huge jug sitting in front of me at all time - I should try to put it out of site when I eat. The water helps me feel full but maybe with the band I won't need it to feel full.

You can do this, Tamra. I don't believe with Dr. Fisher that he cares at all where you carry your weight because I had to loose 30lbs too and I have never carried my weight in my mid section - I got big boobs & big butt, hips & thighs. I went in with a 35 in waist. I have a girlfriend who wears a size 9/10 jeans and we have the SAME SIZE WAIST. I think he just wants to be sure that enough weight has been lost to shrink the liver for safety reasons. He's just conservative. Besides, this gives you enough time to learn the ropes - all the good eating habbits. I still have such a hard time waiting to drink for an hour after I eat. And I've been practicing that for 2.5 months! And, you've heard all the girls say it was easier to lose the weight before the band - personally, i think that's becaue the bigger you are, the faster it comes off and before the band they were bigger than they are now. Anybody agree with that? Regardless, you will do fine - It was Dr. Fisher that told me to cut the carbs out of the pre op diet. HE said it had too many carbs. Cut the carbs, cut the cravings!

Good morning ladies, Tamra - 32lbs is NO PROBLEM! I lost 31lbs in 10 weeks and I'm old! You young girls can get this done ASAP. We are here to help so whatever you need!! Welcome CrystalnChrist! Congrats on completing all your sessions - don't be nervous! It will all be fine - just look at all these ladies that are already bandster successes!! Heather, you may have a point! Maybe 250 is just the number Dr. Fisher throws out there. I think you should check in with him and see what he says. Since you've hit that plateau maybe you should cut out the carbs for a week to see if that kicks you back into gear! Thanks, Maria - But I haven't lost 1/2 as much pre op as the rest of these ladies did. I just don't know what the deal is with my body - I'm a prius LOL. Good luck with Dr. Baggs. Oh, Nicole you are just a bucket of excitement. I'm not nervous anymore but don't know how excited I feel right now. Just the thought that I may not like my band after I get it and then it's too late - But, wether or not I like it really doesn't matter - I NEED IT! Riley Jane - you look fantastic - great looking family too. Your daughter looks so much like you - she's very pretty. Is that a new dress??? It fits you perfectly! Jes, so worried I won't be able to stay under goal for my appt with Liz. LOL. I just may have to go El Fresco! Driking straight water no CL. I was trying to get my appt as soon as possible to be sure that I keept this weight but the 5th was the first one available. I really don't like that it's so late in the day - that means I starve all day long hahaha.

OK, Im not even close to a 12! But I will be one day - just in time for you all to be 9s & 10s so save those 12s for me  Tamra - wooooo hooooo! Tell me what you think of Doc Fisher. How hard was he on you with the weight loss. I hope not too bad cuz I don't think another doctor would over-rule a doctors decision. I got a bunch of 16s & 18s you can have soon if you are not already to small for em'. YES, MY LITTLE JEWELL! I GOT IT - 8.5.09 @ 2:30! I'm alloud 1 support person if you wanna come with! Riley, I'm so down! Whenever you guys decide - let me know!!!!!!!! Nicole - what's up with the salsa? Get you dress girl & lets go! Rosie - wanna come with us girls salsa dancing - AND NO, YOU CAN'T GO NAKED! But.... you can wear a really skimpy dress if you want.

Gool Luck Shopping Riley - I love shopping! Donna, can't wait to take you shopping - I want to see you in a 12 petite! Maybe a skinny jean with those tiny legs of yours - ooohhh weeee, your husbands gonna love it! Tamra - you are on your way - All you have to do with Dr. Fisher is tell him you understand that he is pro RNY but you prefer the band and he will leave it at that - that's what I said to him first thing! He didn't try to pressure me at all. He is a nice man just a little tougher on the initial weight loss but you can do it - Look at Heather! He told her to lose 80lbs and she's rockin! The fastest way to do it (for me, anyway) was to eat 5 Very Small meals per day and only proteins and fats! eating often keeps the metabolism going all day and it's proteins and fats that keep you full the longest. I eat 1/2 cup of chicken salad (canned costco chicken with mayo) or tuna salad or egg salad. That's pretty much it. when I'm real bored I'll have a couple of chicken thighs - I keep the skin on for the fat. BUT... I did try it the 1200 cal diet way for two weeks first to see if it would work for me - unfortunately, I gained wieght on it. Dr. Fisher actually told me there are way too many carbs on that plan and to cut them out. What I do is basically, the Atkins Fat Fast. Let me know if you want a copy of that.

Oh, and Tamra - Dr. Fisher is a little forgetfull, I think. When I was there he said he'd set me up an appt with a psych. But he didn't so I asked his nurse to do it and she did it right there for me. Also, he emailed me on Monday and said that he ordered my labs & EKG and that I can get them done at my primary facility - but when I got there on Tuesday (yesterday) there were NO orders for either. Once again, I called a nurse in the Richmond Bariatrics dept and she had them ordered in 5 minutes. Be sure to get your Psych appt before you leave there today!

  16. HI Page. Please stop by the forum that i'm on - there are a lot of women on there who are banded and have so much info to share! do a search for "kaiser richmond pre op" and it will pop up in the list first. They will guide you just as they have guided me! Hope to see you there!!!

Riley, hope you feel better soon! I just got over a kidney infection about 4 months ago - NO PRECEEDING BLADDER INFECTION either. Not sure what that's all about - but stay on top of it - I had a fever of 102 before I went to the ER. Tell them you're in ALOT of pain and they'll give you a shot of the good stuff LOL

Hi All - gone 1 day and you all are just chatting away. Tamra - Dr. Fisher did my orientation too - he was pro RNY. Just be firm when he asked which way you are leaning - I told him I don't need rapid weight loss, I need help learning how to do this for the rest of my life and he didn't say another word. He's a little more harsh on the initial weight loss, I think. But no worries, most people lose alot more than their surgery goal weight anyway. Pam, I dont' think it really matters where you carry your weight, at least, not as far as Dr. Fisher is concerned. I've never carried alot of weight around my middle - mostly my hips butt & THIGHS. But I still had to lose 30lbs first. Tina didn't carry weight in her middle either and Dr. Baggs only had her lose 12lbs. I think it's just about the Doctor. Remember, Jessika - PnkPassion - from Virginia? She didn't even have to lose any weight. I honestly believe it's just up to the doctors and what they want. so sorry to hear about all the layoffs and work stress!! Jes, I see you had your EKG & Labs just done - I did that yesterday. I also had to do a mamogram since im 40 now  She was pleased that my breasts were large and could be placed anyway she wanted them - I however, was not pleased about it. But, not as bad as I thought it would be. Anyway, I didn't even look at the papers they gave me - I never do! Not since my Doctor showed me the new computer system they got and how it lists everything about me, like what meds I'm on and how "severly depressed" I am or how I'm "morbidly obese" I am. Great system! Grrr. Hi Donna - I'm here  I had to help my girlfriend clean her old house all day yesterday. I swear, I love her but I just want to get things done and she lolligags!

Riley, I'm gonna try to make it on the 7th! My brother loves that place - he brings the dogs and they swim. You say around 5-ish? Niclole, six flags sounds fun too - Let me check my finances for August and I will, most likely, go with you guys. Tamra - Don't even tripp girl, if I can do it - U can do it! The trick is not to think about it - just do it! I will walk with you if you want or whatever. It will be fine! No, you don't have to say your name or introduce yourself or anything you just sit & listen. Oh, Nicole, I haven't done my C25K since last week. My entire body is so sore from moving my girl. I think that I've spent too much time away to progress - I'm going to repeat week 3 because week 4 sounds way to hard for me and I had a hard time on week 3. So, I will get on that tonight and try to catch up. Something tells me I'm too fat and outta shape to complete this program. LOL

Wow Tamra, tomorrow is the big day! I brought Starbucks with me and nobody said anything. If they ask, just say it's black, decaf coffee LOL. Once you are banded you CAN NOT have caffeine. It can cause ulsers and is an appitite stimulant. Don't chew gum because it can get stuck in your band and no straws because it causes you to suck in air and can stretch your band as carbonation can. So many rules! But worth giving up to be thin! DO NOT BE LATE OR THEY WON'T LET YOU IN! Your Orientation sounds about the same as mine. Nicole, save those 16s for Tina! No more 18s for that girl! Tina, when you're done with them you can pass them to me :crying: Then I'll give them to Heather or Tamra! Sisterhood of the traveleing band pants LOL
  21. 21lbs in 2 weeks is better than I've ever heard of. You're on your way to ba-kini land!!

GO TINA! post pics! I bet you looked fabulous AND THIN! Put Michaela on and she'll tell us LOL Nicole, I'd so love to do those runs & family activities but my husband is just not the type - he doesn't seem to socialize very "comfortably". However, I am free most Saturdays - that's when he has Daddy & me time with his son.

I'm booked this week - grr! The veggie/fruit place is on Fairfield - my next door neighbors took me so I'll get the address & name of it. whoo Jes, your appt is just around the corner ! you gonna call to see if there are any cancellations?

    Kaiser Richmond Pre-op

haha Jes, i plan on it! I'm going to call the office first thing in the morning. when is your appt with Liz? If I get mine right after yours maybe you can come in with me and hold my hand

    Kaiser Richmond Pre-op

I think that's a great idea, tina, lets just plan it and see what happens - I'd like to do my best to be sure that everybody who wants to really come, can. Like we should plan it on a Saturday or Sunday so work doesn't get in the way, plan it in Fairfield this time so Riley can come and plan it a month or so out so as to give people time to rearrange their schedules. Nicole, maybe your husband can bring you to sac to meet up with pam and you can ride with her. Anyway whatever you all plan, I will be there
