So Sorry, Riley - I may know wome people who know people who could possibly speed along homeboys retirement LOL. Seriously, I can't believe you've talked to hiim about it and he's laughing! How is your son feeling? So how do I find this emotional eating class? I sure could use it right about now - these next 6 weeks are gonna be hell! Monique - I know where concord is... I'm in Vallejo. You keep snackin on those wings and you best be believe I will find Pittsburg! I am so sick and tired of these damn headaches! I just want to scream my head off but that makes it hurt more. I have decided no more egg "salad", chicken "salad" or tuna "salad" I've realized that because I have so little in my band it slides right thru was too easily so i have to find another form of food that works. Today I had cheese & deli meat for brunch and it is sitting quite well. I am still full and it's been about an hour & a half. So no moist foods just yet. -

Poor Tina - you seem to keep geeting the short end of the stick - having a rough time of it but look on the bright side - 2lbs to ONEderland! It's a crazy thing to see the scale show 1** I was like what? Where's the 2??? The next two I want to see is in second position 12_lbs Hahah - don't think I'll ever get that low!! Go Jes! You gotta slow down though or I'll never catch up to you. The Doc tried to tell me today that "it's ok to be hungry" I was like.... "Says who?" So today I'm just gonna be hungry LOL. -

Woo Hoo! Go Maria! Glad you guys got the cake situated since I'm not speaking to my stepdaughter since she blew up the last car I got her! So, 11/23 you will rock it! STAY UNDER GOAL WEIGHT! I started slacking once I got my date thinking I was in the clear - good thing I had only gained back 3lbs - 4 more and I wouldn't have been banded LOL.. Getting the date is such a relief but at the same time, nerve racking. All I can say is that I hope you don't worry unnecessarily like I did. Take it from all of us - It's a piece of cake... Right Monique??? Jewel??? See you Saturday  -
hahaha - you must have Kaiser - they threw me out in 4.5 hours too! Congratulations!

Ok, Pammie - you twisted my arm - home scale it is! I can't believe your band is "FULL" as it can get. I would ask for a do over because that means the band they gave you is too big for you LOL Monique - please no more solid food till your swelling and healing moves a little further along. Also, keep in mind you have stiches in there - didn't you say you had a hernia too?? I don't want you to rupture anything!! I stick to sugar free for two reasons.... 1. because I don't need the extra calories. 2. Because I do low/no carb. I think I was the only one to gain weight on the 1200 cal diet - Doc Fisher told me to dump the carbs - as soon as I did that, the weight started coming off. To drop the pounds you need to lay off the sugar. The Doc and I had a nice conversation about the people who eat whatever they want and don't gain weight. He said that is a trick statement because those people don't want to eat sugar and high calorie foods. Like men - they want to eat meat - you won't gain weight on just meat. I want to eat bread - I will gain weight on bread LOL -

BTW - by Kaiser's scale this morning - fully dressed - I was 190.5 - feeling like I should change my ticker to match their scale but darn it - I like being in the 180club! - Can we vote? Kaiser scale or home scale?? -

Oh, and this is the worst you will feel - It will be better tomorrow and each day after that. The port hurts so much because of the muscle it's attached to. Try to keep walking - Oh, getting up and down from a laying down position was almost impossible! I am 6 weeks out and barely feel it anymore - I'd say it takes a good 3 weeks before you don't notice it but again, each day will get easier! Hang in there - you're doing great! -

Oh, Pammie - I have that same problem! My port sometimes hits my ribs and it's sore - I had to ask The Doc where exactly it was located today and he said it was lower down but I told him that it was hard up higher, like under my ribs an he said maybe it is when I stand up LOL. He's so crazy. Monique, I am surprised that you are so hungry - get yourself a big thing of broth and sip on it - DON'T GUZZLE. That's what I did after about the 3rd day - also, the SF popsicles really help make you (psychologically) think you are eating something - You can have jello too! Small bites and go slow. Just remember that you don't have alot of nerves in that area so even if you don't feel it, you are swolllen! Wish I was closer to you!! -

So I had my appt. with Doc Fisher - he's so great! I told him I was hungry and he said "so what" LOL. Basically it's all in my head because he gave me pics of my new tummy and it is way way way small. I'm down 11lbs since surgery and he was pleased with that. NO FILL THOUGH  My tummy is still inflamed. apparently my hiatal was reletively large and that's why I only got 2.5 - 3.0cc - He traditionally puts in 4. So we will check it out again at 12 weeks for a fill. Riggie - funny you should ask... I was honestly thinking about getting some primatene tabs - using my asthma as an excuse LOL. For those of you that don't know, Primatene tabs are all ephedra and sudaphed. Ephedra will seriously hook you up on the energy and appitite control. I don't know if the mist is that same thing but the tabs are serious! I elected not to in the end because, while I get a great burst of energy for a few hours there is that crash after. I hate that crash! Here's a thought.... (It just hit me) you could crush them up and put them in your water and that way it is a slow rush and maybe no crash later... Hmmmm? Oh, and 64oz of water is unnecessary! Just ask Dr. Dean Edell! Oh, Tina - glad you're feeling better and kinda envious that you don't want to eat anything right now LOL. Heather - Trust me when I tell you the band will not fix your current issue! I felt the same way before I got mine and I'm still struggling. It's a mental issue and I know, for me, once I hit the house I ain't leaving to go to the gym! I don't know how you feel about the atkins fat fast but you will lose a pound a day on it if you can stick to it! I lost 11lbs in 9 days when I was trying to get to pre op goal! Pammie - I just might kill for some garlic bread one day LOL. I should be there Saturday! Jes, lemme know if you're going tonight to the meeting in Richmond -

Thanks Chris - I just ate dinner so I feel better about the 6 hour rule! Pat - yeah I did like that - did you say two or three - I had thought about saying three - you know, me, her & my appitite but didn't want to risk it. as it was, she said that i'm "not typical of the people she usually sees". Glad you passed the psych test LOL. Tina - don't know how you're sticking to just liquids. congrats on the 5lbs girlie Donna - where/how are you? -

Monique - good to see you on the band-side! Ah, 4cc's!! I was told I have roghly 2.5 to 3.0 cc's - I'm jealous! so glad it's done - you will be sore tomorrow! but don't tripp, it will be better & better every day after that. I wish I could answer your questions but I didn't drink anything - I really didn't want anything. Nicollie - 14 days will go by swiftly! Then it's all down hill after that - woo hoo -

Happy B-day Riley, Jane !!! Hey John, glad you're still hangin in Jewel, how was your first day back? Monique - r u ready girlfriend - don't be nervous - i swear it's a piece of cake. I laugh at myself now for how needlessly worried I was. So I've been starving and eating like crazy - gained .8lbs! so I decided to try to start C25K again today since I'm going to see The Doc on Wednesday anyway but silly me! I'm out of albuterol and I already can't breath when there's moisture in the air - I'm weezing so loud I think the neighbors can hear me LOL. I was just told that Albuterol is discontinued so now I've gotta wait for a new prescription to come thru. Grrr. Oh, and i failed miserably at the C25K week 1! I see it's going to be a long way back to where I left off on the end of week 3!! I'm so flipping out of shape it's sad. Anybody else got asthma? do you know the difference between albuterol & primatine mist? I use to have primatine mist when I was in grade school but haven't used it in years - I remember seeing it at walgreens - wondering if I should just go grab one of those - Hmmm? I feel fine - just breathing VERY LOUDLY hahahahahahahaha -

Pammie - you're too funny. You can't compare yourself to anybody else and believe me, you don't look fat! I have yet to see you look fat! Monique - NO MILK OF MAGNESIA THE DAY OF SURGERY! Take it Monday Morning by 10am - eat all you want till 6pm, you can have only clear liquids from 6pm till midnight. After midnight you can not have anything till after surgery! Even then it's only clear liquids for the first 3 days (but u won't want anything) - with the exception of the barium swallow - which they will try to get you to drink from a straw and we all know we can't do that! So no Straw! -

Congrats Monique - Listen to Jes - Sugar free popsicles and jello was all I had - all I wanted. Remember to take your Milk of Magnesia by 10am - good thing you got the day off. You need to stay by the bathroom. Seriously - Doc Fisher is the best! He doesn't have Baggs sense of humore but he is straight forward and does an excellent job. My incisions are thin and small - I had zero gas pain. I took zero lortab and was up and running by the 3rd day - first day I was sleepy from anesthesia but not in any pain - didn't get any pain meds in the hospital before I left either. I wasnt in pain. I walked a few laps around the house when I got home - the key really is walking. the next day was the worst for pain. I felt like I had done way too many crunches in the gym. Just sore muscles was it but still not enough to require pain meds or to keep med down - was doing my best to walk as much as possible. the day after that I was already feeling better went shopping and did all kinds of things and it got better & better each day. Don't go back to work if you don't have to. sitting up in the same position is hard on that port. It's the muscle it's attached to that hurts and I was swollen for about 4 weeks. Oh, and I only had a slight gas pain in my right shoulder the day of surgery and it was gone by the next morning. I AM REPEATING MYSELF, I KNOW! It's just so exciting. Jes, I only lost the weight after I went back to my 4 mini protein meals. I can't do the 3 meals per day - I have to be on a schedule so my body knows it's coming. I eat at 9, 12, 3 & 6 on most days - once in a while, like yesterday - I go haywire. i did finally get my pintos & cheese from taco bell yesterday  Oh, and I snacked on trail mix last night. sometimes I just feel so hungry! I hope I get this fill on Wednesday and then it will be better. You go back to work tomorrow? Can I get a head count of who will be at the meeting Saturday? Oh, Analynn, If i get the go ahead from Doc Fisher on Wednesday then I want to come to the class with you. Riley - you're probably sittin in traffic on your way home now. Hope you had a great time Pammie - how does your son think he did on his test. did you enjoy six flags? I've never been to a fright night there and I've lived in vallejo since 1998 - WTF? -

Analynn - I'm sure it's just inches off your back and not your boobs LOL. I've gone down from a 38 to a 34 but not in cup size at all so have faith :scared2: Sorry John for all the "boob" talk! It's a major issue for us girls -

I know Jewel, a PB! Weird since i never feel any restriction or fullness. The difference now that I'm banded is that I can stop after 1/2c and not still feel starving like before but it still requires some will power to stop sometimes. Isn't Riley on the slopes? Hopefully she's actually skiing and not still sitting in the lodge getting plastered LOL. Have fun Jane! Thanks for the support Tina - You all seem so confident as to what you're doing that I assumed it was like that from day one. I thought that as soon as I was banded i'd know what I was doing too but I don't! so I will take comfort in the fact that it is a learning process for everybody. DID YOU ALL CHECK OUT MY TICKER! This seems so flippin unreal to me LOL Beatriz - Stick with Doc Fisher! He does good work. i was worried because i hadn't met anybody who had surgery by him but you have my experience now - he's GREAT! My husband is on me to start "toning" - can you really tone extra skin LOL. I'm gonna order a 30 min toning/cardio workout made by the people who do the "8 minute" workout videos. Hopefully The Doc will give me the go ahead to start when I see him next week. I'll keep you all posted - time to shower then off to the bank, costco, wally.... All the fun stuff so I don't have to do it this weekend. -

Girl, that lb is just water weight - stick to protein and double up on the water-stay away from salt & sodium and you'll do fine. You should avoid the cramps - take tylenol every 4 hours regardless of how you feel - like they said after surgery - it's easier to keep the pain away then it is to take it away once it shows up; stay ahead of it! Did you talk to Nicole about how to get that cheep Kaiser plan ?? -

Hey Beatiz - I have Doc Fisher and so does Heather. He's a little more conservative than Dr. Baggs but I like him. He requires a bit more initial weight loss but if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have tripped off that so much. He does 6 incisions, not 5 like baggs but it is really really tiny and doesn't make a difference. my scars are small and thin and I had ZERO GAS PAIN after the surgery - he got it all out - like that 6th incision may be for an extra suction tube to suck the gas out hahaha. He did a great job! And he's a bit more flexible on the pre op diet plan - told me I didn't have to follow the 1200 cal diet and to go low carb it that's what works for me.... He's realistic. Oh, he's pro RNY - actually, they all seem to be except Baggs. Just be firm on what you want. Analynn got Parks and by the end of the appointment Park had her convinced RNY was the way to go - that is untill she researched the life long hassles of it all. LOL. Again, no worries about the surgery - you are in good hands - BTW: Doc Fisher is the one that got the bariatrics department going in Richmond - he's been at this for many years!! Richmond, from what I've been told, is #4 in the country for bariatrics surgery so NO WORRIES -

HOpe you're right TIna - I see Doc Fisher next week so I hope he'll give me a fill even though I've only lost 10lbs. Broccoli just might be out for a while LOL. I didn't like that at all - not because it hurt or anything but Avacados are expensive hahahaha. What a waste! I could've eaten a foot long in 10 minutes - got you beat! This truly was the best decision of my life - I don't think about food 24/7 anymore like a use to - I sorta feel like for the first time I got a grip of my life and not just the food aspect of it. So thanks ladies for getting me here! So glad I listened to you all and didn't chicken out!!!!!
