Here's what 2fly said: "i would have no problem at all coming up there and answering everyone's questions honestly...the good...and the bad...i'll definitely do it!!!!!!!" Donna, what do you think? She'll have to wait till after the holidays but wouldn't it be cool to have her come share? Woud Angel mind?

yeah, maria - I've had the MRI done and they can't find anything wrong with me - apparently, it's all in my head - get it LOL. Stick to protein and 3 meals per day - I know its hard but if you need something else have a large GREEN salad with olive oil & wine vinegar - not balsamic - too much sugar or you can use lemon juice. But do what you can to stay on track and under goal. When I did weight watchers I lived on green salads - usually just a head of lettuce, bell peppers & cucumbers - sometimes mushrooms because I'd eat all my points by noon and that was all I could have after that LOL. It works Nicollie - Binder is boring! Look at the test on the end for bandsters not RNY - and that is the one you'll have to give to Liz at the case managers appt. other than that, Just read the 1200 cal meal plan. By the time you get banded you will know everything in that binder just from these gals here!

so, Pammie - when are we gonna see you? they've looked for allergies and things that may cause them but they have no clue - they need to keep "practicing" Jes, eat it girl, you're still losing - that's more than I can say for myself! I don't know what the deal is!!! I've been walking (except these last couple days - today i got up and walked since the excederine alloud me to pick my head up off the pillow! My PCP said it's ok to take it! But didn't over do it cuz I can still feel the pressure when I move too much. I say off with my head!
  5. I was just chatting with the girls about taking up a collection for air fare & hotel. We would have a blast! let's try to plan it for after the hollidays!! I can't tell you how much we would get out of hearing you speak and actually meeting you! You were the first person I saw on this site that made me see that it was possible to do this! I point everybody to your page LOL Seriously, you are an inspiration and I greatly appreciate how brave you are to put yourself out there like you do!

What the hell can be done about these headaches - seriously - I can't get a job like this! I get em way too often and the vomiting with this band can NOT be good. The Maxalt usually does the trick but it makes me so damn sleepy. Fickin Frack! WTF! I can no longer be told it's my diet because i'm eating the good stuff I'm suppose to be eating, I can no longer be told it's my weight because I'm losing that and they are still here NOR can I be still told that it's depression because the shrink cleared that up - I've been brain scanned and there's nothing they can see so WHAT????????? Wuuu Saaa - and exhale!

Liz - I love that - "Oh, crap she's up" line! did you ladies get the link to the binder: http://www.permanente.net/homepage/kaiser/pdf/39806.pdf the pre op diet is on pay 46. I'm tryin to get 2FlyGuys out here to our group - I think it would be great to have her here! I'd like to take up a collection for air fare & hotel - she's only in LA so maybe it will work. Anybody else wanna help convince her??
  11. Most of that was pre op but I'm tryin to keep up with you, supa-star!!! I've only lost 12 post op and it's been 6 weeks! Grrr! I feel handicapped since I can't really work out. I had a rather large Hiatal hernia that was fixed at the same time - lotsa swelling!! My Doc said probably 12 weeks, then possibly we can fill this sucker up and I can get to workin out. Seriously, we gotta get you out here to speak at our little group - all of us girls are at the "kaiser richmond pre op" forum and they LOVE you! You should pop in and say hi

  12. Girl, I feel so sorry for your friend. When that honeymoon period is over and she starts to gain the weight back because she's no working her program as she should then she will see and realize the importance of "WORKING" it. Right now she's enjoying the pure weight loss aspect of it but soon that will be over and she will need you for guidence! You may give her 1 "I told you so's" but then you'll have to point her in the right direction - the gym & portion control! LMAO

Mornin all, I have been down and out with the migraine from HELL! I've taken Maxalt, tylenol and I've even dipped into my liquid lortab from surgery - nothing has helped so I did the unthinkable today and took excedrine gel caps - and they worked! it's not gone but it is bareable finally! I can lift my head up!!! I swear I was in tears all day yesterday and for those of you who get migraines you know that crying is the WORST think you can do for it but I just couldn't stop myself! If I could get thru life without my head I would slice it off in an instant!!!!!! Riley - cut the boy toy lose unless he can handle just beeing a booty call but something tells me it won't be worth it - nothng worse than a "whiney" man. I have some pics I will email you if you give me your email address. You can PM it to me. Also, I love to play photographer - I have a little resume/photo book of my girls I can show you LOL so we can do a photo session if you want. Its fun! Monique - you go girl - I lost about 14 pounds after surgery then gained a little back - I'm not sure where I am now since I've been in bed since Friday and eating nothing but carbs - probably up some more. Seriously, the port will go down and the pain will go away it a few weeks. It's just because it's a muscle that it's attached to. It took about 3 weeks for me to be able to lay on my left side. Now, 6 weeks out, I have no problems. If I lay on my tummy I can "feel" it but it's not painful- kinda like the princess & the pea LOL Oh, Riley - I can not tell you how much I believe in the atkins fat fast! being in a wheel chair she will benefit from it greatly as NO exercise is required to lose the weight - seriously, 11lbs in 9 days!!!!!!!!! basically, it's chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad, crab salad, shrimp salad & avacado's. Small 1/2c size portions of protein and fat - 90% of the cals should come from fat - about 250 cal per meal, 4 times per day and try to keep to a schedule - eat at 9, 12, 3 & 6 - for me, the schedule works because my body KNOWS it's not starving - it KNOWS it will get the food at the exact same time every day. When I stick to it, it lose big time - I just haven't been sticking to it as of late but I will get back on it shortly! Liz, love the inspirations! You and Nicollie are so fabulous - I feel like I've known you guys forever - Just wait till you meet the all mightly Riley, Jane! She is just like "us". Nutty as hell - you will LOVE her! Reggie - yes, I want to get together soon and I will hold you to that! Miss you lady. Jes - yes yes yes! I need to get together with you ASAP. A little under the weather right now but as soon as I shake this damn headache we are at that pier!!!!! So, since the Santa Rosa support group is the 14th and I want to be sure to see Jane & finally meet Pat - should we shoot for 1:00? We could meet in the Dead Fish parking lot, walk the bridge then do lunch or just hang out.... Sorry, Heather - I can't do Thursdays - I'm free on Tuesdays, Fridays & Saturdays - got my nephew to deal with on Mon, Wed & Thurs - Sundays are reserved for the Hubby - that's our "us" time. Dang Maria - your second boyfriend - eek! Like my shoes, i had to try on a few before I settled. My husband was my 4th fiance' LOL. I believe in long engagements to be "sure" apparently, that's a good thing because the 3 before him didn't hold up LMAO. Charles and I were engaged 3 years and 2 months before we finally did it. I figured if he lasted that long he'd do hahahaha. I love him :cursing: Next year is out 14th anniversary (17 years together) Tina, Realistically, i shouldn't even be thinking about a bakini either LOL. thanks for noticing the weight loss though, I don't see it yet - weird cuz i can feel it in the bath tub - so much more room hahaha but when I look in the mirror I just see that my boobs & hips actually look bigger! UGH!! You look wonderful. It had been a minute since i'd seen you and I can see a big change in you - keep it up Alice in Onederland!! Ok, so - Riley - all this talk of Pannus (can't remember how to spell it) I get rashes under there all the time and I usually just put some yeast cream on it and it goes away but for the first time ever, the crease under there actually split open and it was bleeding - what's up with that? I took pics to show my PCP but just want to know if that is common or if I'm just a freak?? I gotta get some fresh air now - my head is messing with me big time and I want to get out before the excederine wears off! ttl

    No Ride Home

I may be late on this but have you considered possibly renting a hotel room near by the hospital and taking a cab there - I was fortunate and didn't have any pain so I was up and out the day after surgery... You could drive yourself home the following day or stay two nights at the hotel... Just a thought

Tamra - stick with the diet! once you get cobra you can get banded if your weight is below goal. You are already in the program and you can stay in it once your insurance is back in place. You've come to far to quit now! Congrats John!! How nice that must be. Think how much easier it will be to go on vacation now LOL. Isn't it amazing how much damage we willingly (not sure how willingly) do to ourselves just for food?? We'll miss you to tomorrow. I ate so well today that I feel like I'm off program LOL. I made a frittata for breakfast today with Sweet Italian sausage, shrimp, fresh spinach & Portabella mushrooms. I had a slice for dinner too. for lunch I had frsh basil, provolone cheese & sliced tomatoes. I stuck to 3/4c servings but I'm full and now I'm having a decaf coffee for dessert. I even jogged a little bit on my treadmill today. Trying real hard to get back on track. Oh, I had figured out why my cravings are out of control - due for my depo in 10 days LOL.

Ooh, Jes - I've been having the worst cravings these last couple days - the worst part is I've given in to them the last two nights. NO MORE! I had doritos tonight and let me tell you it was like heaven - I haven't had chips in almost a year and they've been sitting in my kitchen for 3 weeks & I haven't given them a second thought but all of a sudden I can NOT resist them!!!

Hey all, Just had a nice talk with Donna - thanks for calling!! Monique - you are just a little disobedient thing aren't you LOL. Keep in mind that the other people on this bord don't have Kaiser - some have had the single incision surgery so they can shower earlier. Tomorrow is fine to move on to full liquids - Robin won't call you for that. You don't need her anyway. I was told that 64oz of water a day isn't necessary so just do what you can and you don't have to restrict your liquid intake. Now, your 3rd week is a different story - it was at that time that I started want to EAT hahaha. I am 6 weeks out and my port doesn't hurt so much anymore - just when I sit up too long and my heavy upper body sits on it too long grr. Also, I'm short too so my rib cage hits it alot and then it's annoying but as far as it just being painful, I don't notice it as much anymore. I think it was about week 4 that i was good to go with that darn port. It's all down hill from here~!
