    Looking For A Gynocologist!!

In my experience, my OB didn't have much knowledge of the band so him and my surgeon communicated often and also my nutritionist. It worked well and my daughter is beautiful and healthy and I stayed right on target for weight gain. This might be an option for you with your local OB and surgeon. Good luck and congratulations on yor pregnancy.

    In Texas

I just had a baby 2 weeks ago and I have my first fill scheduled for next week. I need to lose 40 pounds to be back at my goal weight and I am in desperate need of a buddy. 9 months of being able to eat anything is going to be hard to change and I'm feeling a bit defeated as of now.

I Didn't Want Anyone To Know!!!

I know for me I am very proud to say I've had the LB done and have taken control of my life!! You shouldn't be ashamed and if you are I'd think your not ready for the band.

    First Fill

I have an appt next Tuesday for my first fill!! I'm very excited to lose this 30 pounds. Did anyone have to do a barium swallow before their first post pregnancy fill? I am kind of wanting to ask for one just to make sure my pouch isn't stretched etc. Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions greatly appreciated.

    When Did You Get Preggos?

I waited till 2 years to start trying, per my doctors advice and wanting to lose as much as I could. I got pregnant on the 4th cycle. I can't believe she will be 2 weeks old tomorrow!!
  10. Yes you should stop TTC at this time. I know for me stopping was a hard decision to make but it was the best. I lost 156 pounds and all my fertility labs were finally normal and I got pregnant in the 4th cycle of ttc. My daughter is 12 days old today. It was worth the wait, you'll see. Good luck

    Just Wanting To Know????

I went through multiple cycles of IVF and none were successful. I was banded may 09 and was down to 152 pounds when we decided to start trying. My ob gave me the all clear and all my fertility labs were now normal. I had been on thyroid meds since 06. It took me 4 months of trying. I had to have my thyroid checked monthly while pregnant and saw a high risk doctor the whole time as well (which was great because I go a sono every month, and every week starting at 34 weeks)

    All Pregnant Lapbanders!!

I just had my daughter 5 days ago and I can tell you the pain at the port site got worse as I got closer to due. It did however go away right after delivery. I had to make sure I slept with an extra pillow under my port or just stay off my left side. Good luck

    Ttc In June

Angie congrats on your IVF cycle. My husband and I did 3 cycles prior to my band, all we're a fail for us. After being banded for over 2 years I got pregnant. My daughter, Isabella, is 5 days old. She was born May 29 and prefect. I had a great pregnancy and my only complaint is that as I got to those last 6 weeks my port hurt tremendously. Soon as I gave birth the pain was gone!! I was a freak about my weight gain (35 pounds) but I've already lost 20 and planning a fill for 6 weeks. Just take it one day at a time and enjoy the experience!! Can't wait to hear your betas!!

    After Pregnancy Weight Loss

Light I hope you are back on track soon!! I am breastfeeding and surprisingly I am already down 20 pounds. I am planning on a fill at about 6 weeks. I am taking it easy right now and not worrying to much about what I eat, I don't eat horribly anyways, but not depriving myself of anything either.

I am so sorry for your loss, many thoughts and prayers for you.

    After Pregnancy Weight Loss

I am currently 38+ weeks and so ready to have this baby. Yet I am extremely ready to lose this weight. I've gained 35 pounds and I am miserably fat! This has been a mentally exhausting 38 weeks. It's hard to talk to my husband or mom about it because they have not ever gone through banding before. Hope all is well with everyone.
  18. I agree my symptoms were not different with being banded just had to have a partial unfill due to nausea. Good luck

    After Pregnancy Weight Loss

I'm so sorry to hear that.
  20. I am a medical professional and I am honestly perturbed by other medical professionals blaming things on the band. There is no way that the band could alter your labs for downs. For the medical "professional" to say that was immature, unprofessional, and causing undue stress. Most low numbers for downs are usually human error when the venipuncture was done or the lab test itself was run.
  21. My numbers came back at 1:9500 for downs and I've been banded since May 2009 so I doubt that information

    After Pregnancy Weight Loss

I had 3cc removed at 12 weeks and I've had no nausea since. I eat whatever I want and am not following any of the band rules. My dietician said not to worry about food while pregnant, it was very hard in the beginning as I was obsessed but now I eat when hungry and if I am craving something I eat it. I was under 150 when I got pregnant and although it's hard to see my weight go up I know it's all for the greater good. I'm more concerned with the tales I've heard about never losing again or never finding that sweet spot again.
  23. It took me a little over 2 years from surgery to get pregnant (currently 28 weeks) an it honestly was when I quit trying and just started hanging out with friends more and had gained 20 pounds back and did not look sick. I had given up and we were just talking about seeing a specialist when one morning I took a test on a whim!! It's so hard to go through all the physical and emotional changes of weight loss and then add trying to conceive in on top of it. Good luck and I hope you get that beautiful baby soon.
