My surgery is scheduled for September 24th and was curious about what to expect the second week after surgery. My surgeon said that you won't feel like eating the 1st week of liquid diet, but what about the second week after surgery when you are the thicker liquid diet? Will you start to feel hungry?

Was approved and going to be banded September 24th. Excited but scared also. Have question regarding pre op diet and was told to get low carb protein drink. They want 7 or less grams of carbs and less than 5 sugar. I found a protein mix called Optimum Nution by Whey. Any suggestions if this any good and if so what flavor? Tried the EAS Myoplex Lite and it was pretty good.:thumbup:

Received my approval from insurance and surgery scheduled for September 24th. I'm excited but nervous also. Was told I needed to start Pre Op diet on 10th and curious if anyone has every tried Optium Nutrion Protein Mix by Whey? Just wondering if any good and what flavor do you recommend.

What questions to ask for consultation

I am scheduled for my consultation next Friday and I'm need some suggestions of what questions I should ask. I really don't know what to expect and would love some suggestions on things I need to cover with him. -

Becky, Can you tell like what steps you had to take before you were scheduled for your procedure. I have heard people had to go to weight loss programs for 6 months. Did he make you do this or psy evaluations? I want to know what he requires? Pat -
Hi I was referred to this site by a teacher who had her surgery a year ago. I am scheduled for my consult on May 6th, but reading all the posting on this site am confused if this is worth it! Seems like there is a lot of problems with having this procedure of not being able to go out and eat and drinking any kind of liquids without coming back up. I'm really thinking about cancelling my appointment, please give me some feedback
