I have not flown since I was like 12 or 13. My family has planned a vacation in mid April and now I have read and seen some things reguarding larger people on planes. I am 299 lbs and a size 28 the dang southwest seat size is 17inches, and I know my butts bigger than that! I am hoping to find some stories of people who have recently flown are my size and had no problems...I cant afford to buy another seat and I dont wanna be kicked off and have to explain that to my 6yr old!!!

I was banded in 07 and last time I went to dr I said when I bend over I have this sensation almost feels like its pulling on stitches. My port is kinda under my left breast...anyway the dr said it very well could be pulling on stiches, cuz the port is sewn to your stomach wall inside...so i would not really worry unless you continue to have pain for a few more days. then just ask your dr.

I was banded in April 07 I have had shoulder pain every since. My dr said it usually goes away in all but about 5%. Sometimes its much worse then others, and I even get it in my right shoulder too. I try to figure out what causes it cuz there really is no ryme or reason..Oh but yah I have A LOT of burping at the same time, its a constant burping and I have often wondered if the cold weather makes it worse for me? I dunno..

Hi ladies...thanks for the updates...I won't be able to attend any Thu night meetings right now as Im in school Mon and Thu night...to bad tho cuz schools in NKC Im going to Colorado Tech to become a medical assistant Im excited!! Well I actually have an appt with Tim today at 2:45 for another fill like I said I have not been in for over a year so I am in huge need of one...Im gonna have him feel around and see what he thinks bout what I can feel inside kind of around my port..basically I can feel my port like always but there are a few oh I dunno kinda hardish spots maybe its just fat deposits but I didnt feel them a yr ago...does anyone else feel anything there unsure of? But also Im going to ask for 1.5cc I am pretty sure I have 8cc in and I have a 10cc band but I seriously have no restriction...unlesss its with chicken or shredded wheat type cereals..which I should not be eating anyways...And like I said I have gained 28lbs BACK!!!!!

Oh your kidding me...It says Im working towards my first goal of getting under 300..well LOL I have made it...what do you call it when you reach a goal twice only backwards this time....depressing!!! And LOL it says my kids are 16 and 4 but really my daughter is 17 and on her way to adultistm and my son is 5 and in kindergarten!!! K time to do some updating and changing!

Hello everyone it's me..Chantay yes its been FOREVER since I have posted I don't even recognise most of you :blushing:( I did see a couple of post from Diane tho...how are you doing? And is Mary still around? Im sure she has passed me way up...I have not had a home computer so that is my main reason for being gone so long...well let me tell you...I have fallen wayyyy off the wagon and sure need to get back on. I had my surgery April 07 I started at 345 and lost down to 275 I had put 20lbs back on...but now I look at the scale and as of last night it read 299 It's a huge reality check because getting to that number was my first goal....under 300!! And now I can't believe I am back up there again. Money issues kept me from going back in for a fill after my gallbladder removal the end of 07 I have not been in for a fill in over a year and I almost eat like I have no band...its terrible but no ones fault but my own. One question I do have though is I use to be able to feel my port very well...but it seems to me I may have scar tissue built up over that area..I was feeling a small port but now when I poke around it sure seems like alot of something going on in there? Anyone else thats had their band awhile experience that? And a couple of times if I would bend over just right I would feel kind of a tightening almost like a stitches pulling sensation...keep in mind I have been banded almost 2 years so I dont think its really stitches pulling...any thoughts? Ok and one more things...I have been gone so long that I dont even know what my ticker is gonna say when this post goes up...but im sure it will be sad :cursing:( ~Chantay

Well Im pretty sure I am going too. My sister lives in Bedford. I am in KC Missouri but really wanna come and could use a little vacation. I want to make sure I have it straight though...ok so If I only go to the sat convention its $45 and included 2 meals right? And my sister can come for $45 too right?? Or is it 45 PLUS 30 just because Im not staying in the hotel? So really 75 for each of us? Do I really have to pay 30 more? Does everyone realise that? And also I can register now but pay in cash when I get there right?? Can someone please let me know for certain on these questions. Thanks much!! Chantay

I was wondering how many of you are still having left shoulder pain? It seems to be getting worse...IT IS getting worse..when I start to eat is usually when it comes on and it just gets worse even before I feel comfortably full. And it takes awhile to go away....sometimes I raise my left arm over my head or do that and lean to the right just to feel better....I hate it what can I do? And how many of you are experiencing this? I mentioned it once to the Dr I dont remember exactly how he put it or what he said word for word..but if I go in for another fill I will be talking the my actual surgeon about it...~Chantay It's starting to bother me so bad Im trying to rate it on the pain scale and if it was all the time pain I would be taking tylenol or something.

mine is MOSTLY when I begin eating..not constant, however I noticed it slightly last night when just drinking...Is is definately associated with eating and goes away after time...it just all depends on the types of food I eat and how much..I dont think of it as a soft stop either but I do tend to wanna stop eating when it comes on...so who knows?? ~Chantay

Hi ladies..wow how time flies..I missed the last 10 pages of postings..been busy I guess...plus I need to subscribe to the thread..anyhoo Just wanted to say I reached my first mini goal of under 300!! I am now at 296 YES YES YES!! I am in 26/28 and am 5.4 my goal is 160 but I wonder if that is unrealistic or not? I can remember being in size 16/18 and I think I weighed 190 I will be super happy just to get to that weigt again...but wondered what everyone elses goal is and height......

I had been taking the centrum but to me it was gross so I just got some Kmart brand called vitasmart multiple vitamins w/iron I was leary of the with iron but when I looked at the label it has the reg amount of iron as do the rest, this only has 11 vitamins but hey I wasnt even taking any before so I got these to start..and they are SMALL about the size of a ibuprofin thats why I bought them and when I think of it I take some liquid B complex ~Chantay

Hi ladies..Chantay here.. I was banded April 25...I just had my 5th fill I am at 8cc in my 10cc VG I was wanting so bad to be at my first goal of 299..UNDER 300...But I haven't been eating my "best" or excercising... I have PCOS and had not had a period in 13 mos...took provera to induce it...hoping my small weight loss this last time was due to water weight!?! Well wanted to drop by this thread and introduce myself...watching Greys Anatomy so I''ll check back soon~Chantay

Hey Hey Hey....Is anyone going to the meeting tomorrow night? I AM....I havent been since before surgery so that would have been in March...and I'm going cuz I need a break..a night w/out the kids and hubby!! I go in for my 4th fill on Friday the first fill was 4cc in my 10cc band then 1 more cc after that each visit but I am eating whatever and almost however much I want right now..Im gonna ask for 1.5 cc this time cuz I have NO restriction....geeze I felt like like I had more restricton a couple of fills ago...could that be? Plus I have been naughty and settling down for some ice cream with my me time in the evenings..anyone else naughty?? I have a dang treadmill and dont even use it...I can just about guarantee I have gained since last visit ( guess we will see...Hope to see some of you tomorrow night...HI MARY!!!!!! Diane, Thanks for the offer..but Olathe is 40 miles from me....but the nice thing is I just bought a treadmill from my sister before she moved out of state..so I need to get busy on it!! My goal for next Dr visit is 12lbs that would put me at 299 and 46lbs LOST!! ~Chantay

Well...I guess I will post for all..I mean no one to see..LOL I went in for my 3rd fill yesterday (man Dr Tim is good looking!!) ohh...anyhow I have lost 34 lbs in less than but almost 3 mos..so I am pretty happy! I just got my 'before" pics back today and it's so nice to tell you have lost weight! Anyhoo Dr Tim says yah everythings cool Im just eating like this cuz Im not restricted enough yet...Im sure ready to be though! Hope to see some more posters on here soon...Mary how are you?? Hi there..well I think I have lost 30 so far...but I am eating to much so when I go in for my fill tomorrow Im not sure what them dang scales will say...Im worried...Is is normal to get to a point where you think you are eating to much and actually wonder if your stretching out your pouch or somethings wrong with your band?? Not that I really think I have either of those problems..Im not pigging like preband but i ate a small soft taco tonight...and i felt full so i didnt eat more..but then a couple of hrs later i had another one..but i dont think i should be able to eat a whole soft taco...or should I?? lets see what other examples...how about a half of a sandwich and some cottage cheese...is that normal to be able to eat that much before you get real good restiction?? I have 5cc in and i go in for another cc tomorrow...~Chantay

Wow Robyn, you have been through so much...I will keep you in my prayers. Im guessing the percentage of peolpe these kinda things happen to isnt that big? (newbie here, hoping not to run into any complications) I had 1cc added to my band last week so Im at 5cc in my 10cc VG and Im feeling good! I have already had surgery and one my second fill today but i am changing to united healthcare to hubbys ins cuz im changing jobs. mine has cigna but its to expensive...anyone else changed ins co after surgery how does that work when you need fills etc??~Chantay

i know "someone" who has this ins and its not actually 6mos you have to do its 3 out of the last 6mos of supervised diet excersize and bahavior modification. the first time she was denied stating there was not enough documentation from the md but the second time she "made up" her own excersize chart and eating chart staying below 1200 calories per day. if we "try" to lose wight i bet we all could do it....if we "try" what the ins co wants to see is if you can lose 30% of your body weight..also when she resubmited after going back to the dr again she wrote a little letter about herself and what things she has tried etc...she was approved in 2 days!! email me if you would like chantaymarie71@aol.com

im going in for my second fill today with dr H ia m able to eat quite a bit as well...i had my first fill may 30 4cc in my 10cc band but i ate a small soft taco one meal last week and didnt even realize i ate it all till afterwards!! then last night i had a grilled cheese sandwich and some chips, not that im OVEREATING but i am eating more than i think i should be able to with the band. BANDED 04/25/2007 30lbs gone so far but we see what the official scales say today ~Chantay

does anyone have united healthcare...i am changing jobs and going from one ins to another i am wondering how that will work with getting my fills etc...hubbys ins is UH or i can get it through my new job and its cigna but much higher cost...anyone had experience with changing ins after surgery and still needing appts with the dr???

Hey hugger WOW on the weight loss...last ck I have lost 21lbs I had my band April 25th so almost 5 weeks ago...but Ive been eating more lately naughty naughty...but of course its WAY better than I was eating and a whole lot less....I have my first fill next wed with dr H also...glad yours turned out ok cuz im nervous too. Hey can anyone feel their band?? I have the vanguard and I swear I can feel it expecially when I lay on my right side I feel it on my left like by my ribs yah think?? Hope everyones great! ~Chantay
