  1. This is why taking vitamins and drinking at least 1 high quality protein drink daily is so important. Also following the protein first, vegtable or fruit second rule is critical.
  2. How often do you weigh yourself? I only weigh myself on the 1st of the month. Just curious about others.
  3. How much was your 3rd fill?

    weighing yourself

This is why I only weigh myself once a month. It would be to hard on me to get on the scale and not see a difference for the better.
  5. I was told this is what Bandster Hell is. But look, you still lost 23 lbs!! I was banded Dec 21, 2009 and did not have my first fill (4.6 in a 10. band) untill Feb 17th. I have limited restriction but feel I'm going more on will power not "bandpower". I feel as you do. I went through this whole procedure because I could not lose the weight and keep it off on my own. But we need to keep in mind that this is a life long change, not an overnight fix. It takes a while to get the band filled just right. We will still have good and bad days. And we are all different. We all experience our journey differently. I try to take the first of each month to look back and see how I did for the month. This past month I only lost 6 lbs. But I did lose and am proud of it. So try to be patient. We will all reach our goals.
  6. My doctor sent me home with liquid codeine, 10 days worth. So if I was "sore all over" I never knew it.
  7. For me it's about 15 lbs per size
  8. Congradulations and welcome to the "Bandhood". You are starting a journey that will make you happy, sad, frustrated, doubtful, and even mad at times. I've been on this journey for 2 1/2 months and have had all of the above feelings and more. Just keep in mind that everyone is different and we will all experience our journey in different ways. I visit this site often for inspiration and insight, as many others do. Best of luck.
  9. I have my fills done under floroscopy. The amount of liquid that they have me sip is not equal to what I should eat for a meal. It is equal to the amount I should ingest with each bite, not each meal. Is this what they could have ment for you?
  10. Don't know exactly how they injured it, I told them that the knee was totally replaced 3 months prior. They had me so doped up, and sent me home with liquid codein' that I did not notice it right away. Hope you recover fully.

    POST OP Diet

Again, I do not feel I cheated. I just did what I knew my body needed. Best of luck, and I sincerly hope you have the will power you say you do. But if you don't that's what this forum is for.

    POST OP Diet

The person who originally posted this thread was asking us to be honest about if we stuck to the post-op diet or not. At the risk of sounding bitchy, I was originally answering her. If I had total self control I would not be heavy to begin with. After you have had your surgery let us know if you "cheated" or not.
  13. I was just reading your profile about the knee injury. 1 1/2 years ago I severly injured my left knee and had to have surgery. After 5 months of not being able to do anything I had gained 40 lbs, putting me at a all time high of 240. This was a year ago January. At that time I decided to look into weight loss surgery. Fast forward to Sept. 2009. At this point my knee doctor decided I needed a total knee replacement. Because of this my ins. co. actually paid for my weight loss surgery. Had the knee replaced in Sept. and the weight loss surgery in Dec. While doing the weight loss surgery, however they strapped me down, they damaged the tendons around my new knee. After a series of cortisone shots and more sitting around, I think I'm on the road to being healthier.
  14. but your not suppose to drink anything when you eat

    POST OP Diet

If you don't follow your Dr's orders to the tee I would not call it cheating. If you look around this site you will see just about every doctor has there own eating schedule they give you for post-op. I am a very active person and the post-op eating schedule made me light headed. I used common sense and took it slow when I went ahead with real food again.

    Bummer...

I still say one persons slider is another persons godsend. We all have different ways of preparing the foods and different eating styles. Not to mention we are all at different markers in our journys.
  17. I was banded on 12-21-09. I had to wait untill this past Wed. for my first fill. It was a sizable fill (4.6 in a 10. band) but I still can eat as much as I want. I can not see my Dr. untill 3-15-10, and it usually takes 2 weeks or so to schedule a fill. So far today I have ate cupcakes and pizza(I'm still suppose to be on mushies from my fill). I have no restriction, have not had any vomiting, PB's, nothing. Basically just having another "poor me" day and venting. Thanks to everyone for sharing there thoughts and insights.

    Very, very bad day

I can't take a walk. It is pouring rain and we still have a ton of snow on the ground. And as far as the bad food I went out and bought it today. I know things will get better and I NEED SPRING!
  19. Is soup a slider food? I love to eat a can of Progresso vegetable soup for a meal. It does fill me. Yes I eat the whole can. Depending on the variety they have around 200 calories and about 18 or so grams of proyein. Any :blush:thoughts on this??

    Soup?

I have to admit I was surprised at the amount to. This was just last Wednesday and I can't stop eating. My doctor won't even see me untill 3-15-10. I had this whole thing done because I have a problem with portion control and I'm still waiting to be able to eat less.

    So SO Tired!!!

Yes not taking a vitamin could be your problem. I feel off the "wagon" for a week and stop taking my vitamin and it certainly affected me. Also make sure you are getting your protein. I am a huge fan of at least 1 protein drink a day. The real stuff from GNC or so. Not a slimfast or similar shake.

    Soup?

I have only had 1 fill of 4.6 in a 10. band. Certainly no sign of restriction yet, so I don't think I'll stretch my stoma. I will ask my surgeon and nutritionist, but I don't see them untill the 15th of March. I suppose I could eat the chunks in the soup and not all the juice.

    Soup?

i never gave it a thought but i guess sliders can be different for different people. yes i take the sodium in consideration, thanks
