    Good Workout Shoes....

that sounds like something that would require an orthotic of some sort, no? most running shoes' insoles are removable (you can check with the staff at the store.. they should know) and you can put an orthotic in the right shoe instead. would that work? obviously, you would have to go get the orthotic made by a podiatrist but you get the gist... i could be completely wrong about this, however.

    Good Workout Shoes....

it depends on what you are doing... for example, if you are running mostly, you should get running shoes. if you are going mostly aerobics etc., you will want a cross trainer. i run mostly so i use running shoes. i have wide-ish feet so i have the brooks adrenaline (wide toe box!) and i love them. however, i know that i am a pronator so i need the extra support. you should consider going to a running store and getting fitted for shoes. if it's something you plan on getting into for the long term.

    How is everyone doing?

I was banded mid-june. I'm struggling between 223-226 right now. I have not had a fill yet but definitely need to go in to get one. I am watching my calories (under 1200) but am hungry after a couple of hours.

    Being Realistic

I weigh myself once a week and I think it is REALLY beneficial for two reasons: 1- it keeps me accountable to myself. having a solid number to look at lets me know which way the scale is going. 2- it gives me a chance to do a quick briefly self-evaluation. if the scale is going in the right direction, i look back on the week and figure out what i did right. if the scale isn't going in the right direction, i identify what i did wrong that week and try to improve in the future.

"More To Love" on Fox Network

i watched but i am not a fan. the amount of stereotypes was a little too much to handle! it was also kind of boring!
  9. i weight once a week. maybe twice if i've been "bad" and need the reminder.
  10. i'm feeling pretty unrestricted too but i'm holding off getting a fill. from what i was told, if i am losing 1-2 pounds a week still, i am fine. losing more than 1-2 pounds a week isn't really a realistic goal.
  11. I am 4 days post-op and i am having trouble with eating. Everything is going down fine but not comfortably. i constantly feel like i have to burp and, while i never properly do, i feel the gas leave my stomach and the radiate across both of my shoulders, in the front, chest area. should i be worried or is this regular gas pain?

    Anyone in Toronto?

I'm near Toronto, too and couldn't find a buddy. too bad there aren't more people from around here on this forum!
  13. actually, not really. the first 2 days were challenging but after day 3, my body went into ketosis and i wasn't particularly hungry. plus, you can eat a LOT of lettuce or spinach in 200 calories. it's only a 14 day pre-op diet.
  14. i am currently 9 days into a pre-op diet. i drink three shakes a day (700 calories) and up to 200 calories of low GI veggies (lettuce, kale, spinach). i have lost 15 pounds so far (obviously, all water weight) and i started with a BMI of 38... hope this helps.
  15. i'm only weighing myself once a week. otherwise, i don't want to be a slave to the scale, you know? i have also been warned that i may gain when i go back on solid foods (metabolism and such) so i do not want to get too set on the loss.
