I am 6 days post op and have been following the liquid diet to a t like the Dr. said. I hadn't been feeling much hunger at all until yesterday and today....OMG my stomach is growling and in knots. I am doing my best to ignore it, I have been having some Protein shakes in place of broth and I had cream of mushroom Soup today strained. And drinking lots of fluid! My question is can you stretch your pouch from to much liquid? I have come this far and I want to do everything right, I have determination and the will power to do what needs to be done. I am not normally a paranoid person but today it hit, paranoia and worry.... What if I doing something wrong? Maybe I did something wrong and that's why I am starving etc, etc... Is this normal to be so worried???

6 days post op, paranoid!

I just spoke with my Dr. this morning and she said that it is normal to feel hunger like this, it is a sign that the swelling in your stomach has gone down. That you need to eat something with protein, an egg etc. Start slow and take 20 minutes to eat. She said that food will sit on the pouch and create fullness. -
Just wanted to say thanks for adding me as a friend, would love to keep up with you and your progress!
Good luck on your journey!

I am day 5 and I am starving too! I am going to eat some creamed soup tonight and see if that helps. I notice if I don't stay on top of my hunger than it just gets worse. I am so looking forward to Thursday..I am so ready for something to "chew" even if it is mushy..LOL -

I officaly started my 6 month diet today. My pcp said that I need to see her again in Sept, December and that I need to see the dietician 1 time a month for then next 6 months and that the dietician will then send notes to her and she will document them. Then come my last appointment I will get the file from her and the dietician and send it to the weighloss center and then they will run it through insurance and I will be approved cause I meet all the requirements. Does that sound right? I have already met with the surgeon, the dietician and phycologist all at the weightloss center and when I talked to the billing department there she said that I wouldn't have to go through all those appointments again, they will go by my previous bmi and all that was written by the suregon and dieticain that day. My insurance is Highmark BCBS Will it matter that I met with the weightloss surgery center 6 months prior?? Has anyone gone through all the 6 month requirements and been denied? Do I have to see both the DR. and the Dietitian each month?? How exactly did the 6 month diet work?? I am learning insurance is not a good resource to ask, I get a million different answers and that's why I am in the situation that I am in!! -

Has any one been here? I am going for a consult on the 6/22 and I am doing a triple play since I am going to be coming from out of Town, I am seeing the Nurse, The Psych and the Surgeron all in one day. (Alana Chock) I am anxious and trying not to think to much ahead but it is so hard. They said that I shouldn't have a problem getting accepted as they rarely turn a patient away. I guess I need to quit reading all the post about denials and hope for the best! -
Does this count? I was looking at my records today and I have been to the Dr monthly or at least 2 times a month for the last 5 years seeing my Dr. and each time we talked about diet and excercise and she charted each time that we spoke of this, what program I was using and my eating habits and how much I was working out. There is 5 years worth of this documented. I have also been to a nutriounist 2 times and she has documented everything as well.. My Dr also gave me a 5 year weight chart that shows all my weights. I have Highmark BCBS PPO if that helps.
