    Not Sure What's Happening

Well I am going in for a slight unfil today....even drinking water gives me some discomfort, and hours after eating it feels really tight. Even if I eat yogurt or oatmeal, it will feel tight. More than a few bites, and it starts to feel tight. Maybe I am being a sissy about it, but think an unfil will help. Also I think I may have got some bad habits while I had no restriction, and need to slow down, and chew and drink slower. I think with less restriction while I retrain myself will help. I have not vomitted or PB'd yet, and want to keep it that way. Its hard to believe that 4 cc's would be too tight, but maybe 3 is where I need to be.

    Splenda

I use Splenda and Stevia or Truvia. I like the taste of Splenda better, but like the fact that Truvia or Stevia is more natural. Stevia does have an artifical taste to it, and it easy to use too much, and then it makes things bitter. Splenda is more sweet to me.

    Belching

I belched a lot the first month after surgery, first week it was painful, but that went away. I still belch more now than I did before surgery.

    I need my coffee....

I have no problems with coffee. I even have Starbucks coffee. Of course I go the FF SF route, but its my treat. I love my skinny lattes.

    Not Sure What's Happening

It seems as though the stuck feeling isn't going away. This morning had some scrambled eggs with ham. I ate slow, and chewed completely. Its been several hrs now, and it feels like there is still something stuck??? It almost feels like I have heart burn, but without the burning, if that makes any sense at all. Its like the food is just sitting there or something. I haven't experienced any slimming at all. Could this be something other than food getting stuck?

    Any Regrets After Lap Band?

My only regret is waiting as long as I did to get the surgery. Lap Band has worked great for me. I am no longer taking Metformin, my PCOS seems to be under control, I exercise, and have learned to eat healthier.

    Fill questions - help?

My Dr had a hard time finding the port also. He said after some of the scar tissue goes down it should get easier.
  8. I don't do videos, but I have FIT TV, I love it. I watch Sharon Mahn, she does all kinds of stuff, Kick Boxing, Power Yoga, regular Yoga, and I do the Bodies In Motion. I also do Belly Dancing, Hip-Hop Dance, I walk, and I ride my bike. The first 6 weeks after surgery I didn't do much but walk. I got bored with walking real quick which is why I record shows off of FIT. I am thinking of maybe starting going to the gym also.
  9. My first fill was 6 weeks after surgery, and my first fill was only 1cc. I drink Special K protien water to help curb hunger. If I get too hungry then I will have a healthy snack. Fruit, veggies, LF cottage cheese, or LF/SF yogurt. I have noticed if I eat things that are higher in protien I don't get as hungry.
  10. I got my second fill yesterday which brought me up to 4cc's and I can feel restriction pretty good at this point. I have no diet restrictions for fills. My surgeon just told me that I might want to softer foods the first couple days. As long as I chew real good I am ok.

    Me and PCOS

I was diagnosed with PCOS back in 2004. I had no idea what it was until my sister was diagnosed. We both had issues with irregular periods, from the time we were teenagers. After she was diagnosed, she told me I should see a Dr about my issues because it is very likely I have it. I didn't want to listen, I didn't want to have to face the truth, or even worse find out I have even worse problems. So after a couple years of pretending everything was ok, I decided I wanted to have a baby, and went to see a Dr. I was then diagnosed with PCOS. I was put on diet, prescribed Metformin, and was told if I lost some weight I could get pregnant. I lost 50lbs, started taking Clomid, and after trying for 3 years with no luck I gave up. Went into a deep depression, and gained all the weight I lost back. I started to consider getting Lapband about the same time I was diagnosed with PCOS. At first it was to hopefully get pregenant, but by the time I made my mind up about it, it came down to getting healthy. If baby comes along with it, that's just a bonus. I had surgery June 5th, and I am no longer taking Metformin, and my blood surgars are good. I haven't seen a Dr about my PCOS for some time now. The Dr I had moved away, and now there is really no one in my area that knows anything about PCOS. So my next step to getting healthy is finding a Dr that can help me with the PCOS. My family Dr helps a little, but really his experience with it is limited.

    please help

I do think HH can be a little controversial, but let's be honest here, it takes 2 (or more sometimes) to let an argument escalate. It is unfair to blame one person. Sometimes I don't like hearing what HH or some of the others who had problems with Lapband have to say. It scares the hell out of me, makes me wonder if I made the right choice, makes me second guess everything about my surgery. I wonder if I should have gotten the sleeve, or RNY. I especially don't like hearing that Lapband isn't meant to be a long term thing. When I hear these things, and I start to second guess things, I feel defensive. I want to react, but I choose not to. I can honestly say that sometimes I don't like what HH has to say, but he has also been supportive towards me even though I have Lapband. And to the OP sorry to get off subject, and congrats on your decision!!!!!!!!
  13. I am self pay, and I had to do the phyc eval, which I thought was kind of a joke also. I did not have to do a lot of the other things that insurance requires. Only tests I had to do were the simple routine blood tests. The only pre-op diet I had was the 2 week liquid diet. My surgery went fine, and to be honest the phyc eval didn't do anything for me. I think the surgeon just wants to make sure that if you have any issues like eating disorders, or depression that they are dealt with as well. That's how the phy explained it to me.

    Who measures food?

I measure my food, 1/2 cup meat, and 1/4 veg. If I go out to eat I don't measure. I am sure when I get more restriction and get used to the portion sizes I won't need to measure, but right now I feel more comfortable measuring my food.

    Me and PCOS

15 lbs sice surgery is great. I lost quickly right before and after surgery. My weight loss has slowed down some. I try to stick to a low carb, low fat, high protien diet. My meals are about 3/4 cups of food. I stay away from potatoes, and bread, and try to limit my sugars. I drink tons of water, and I exercise almost every day. I noticed if I don't exercise my weight loss slows. I have very little to no restriction so right now its mostly will power to stick to the diet. If want any more info just let me know.

    How is everyone doing?

I've lost 45lbs, but I am constantly hungry at this point. I had my first fill 2 weeks ago and my second isn't until Aug 25th. Its getting harder and harder to make good food choices right now. I think I am going to ask to have my appointment moved ahead.

    severe bruising...

I had really bad bruising all around my incisions. Big purple bruises, pretty much my whole stomach was a bruise, and they were a little scarry looking. I didn't have any bruises on my hip though. I did have bruises everywhere they poked me though. Took weeks for it all to go away.

    Port incision tenderness?

My port incision hurt for a while, still a little tender if pressure is put on it, and I had surgery June 5th.

    I dont get it

I think it all depends on the person, what you eat, and whether or not you exercise. Also I do believe that at some point your weight loss will slow down.

    please help

Ditto...couldn't have said it better myself!
  22. I choose Lapband because I like the fact that if I had complications the Lapband can be removed. I did not like the fact that with the sleeve I would loose part of my stomach, or the risk of leakage. I never put much thought into bypass to be honest. Also I wanted a slower weight loss, and it seemed to be the right choice for me. I thought it over long and hard before I made my decision. I had surgery June 5th, so far no complications other than right now I get hungry, and that kind of sucks. If I had the choice to have the surgery done with no co-pay by a highly recommended Dr I would go that route, even if there is a wait.
  23. love the work!!
