  1. I liked the GNC AMP Wheybolic Protein powders before surgery and now after I can Barely get one in I started using the protein recipe list from here to make all sorts of Different drinks! I have also feel in love with having Carnation Instant Breakfast - No Sugar Added kind (in a blue box) with a cup and 1/2 of milk at the end of each day to get the last of my protein in! Also, any sort of smoothie that you like mix in unflavored protein powder!! Good Luck!

    OMG I feel so silly now! LOL I just noticed you were talking about the mix and chop! LOL For some reason I thought you were talking about the Chopper (for like veggies and such)!! Can't ya tell my brain is FRIED today!!!! I have had the mix and chop for a long while now because I too have issues with raw meat and I used to make A LOT of things with ground meat!!

    Just a little tip

    I adore PC!!!! LOL One thing that is Awesome for right now is the 1 Cup Prep Bowls! They are perfect for me to have a nice small amount of food and I can use it in the microwave and fridge!! Plus there are lids to travel well! The other thing is the Mix and Chop! It's also Great for mixing up ground beef!
  4. Just curious if anyone else has expereienced this! First thing in the morning when I wake my stomach Hurts until I get something in it! It reminds me of a pregnant women who HAS to eat crackers or something before even getting out of bed otherwise they'll be sick! I don't feel sick but it hurts? I usually get up and drink some milk while I get the kiddo ready and then make some eggs and I'm fine but I just thought it was strange that it hurts every morning!
  5. I usually take my nexium during the day sometime (when i remember! LOL) but I will start taking it at night and see if that helps! Thanks!
  6. Ditto here too!! Sleeved on the 15th, lost 16lbs in the first two weeks and now the scale hasn't moved It is frustrating but I just try to keep telling myself that my body WILL adjust!!! I didn't gain the weight overnight and I'm not going to lose it overnight either!!!

    Hibernation Syndrome

    I totally think my body is doing this! I'm not mentally depressed but I do think my body is physically depressed and I'm not loosing any weight I lost 16lbs the first two weeks and now the scale shows no loss I keep telling myself my body is just trying to "work itself out" and get used to the new way of eating!

I have to admit that I was still very torn over getting the band or the sleeve and after hearing your story and see pics from your jounrey, that is what made it my mind for the sleeve and of course I couldn't have been happier!!!!! Thank you for being such a GREAT supporter on this site and Thank you for all you and your DH do for our US Military!

    Sleeping Patterns Post-Op

    OMG My sleep is HORRILBE I am 2 1/2 weeks post-op and I can't fall asleep for NOTHING! I have to get to the point at like 2-3am where I am so dead to the world in order to fall asleep and then I wake up a few times (really dry mouth and need to drink) and then wake again by 7am The only thing I have found that was/is helping me is Nyquil but I know I can't keep taking it
  10. Well today is my two week mark and I lost 1lb. I am happy that I lost because that it what it is all about but it just seems weird to lose a pound! I am pretty sure I know it's because since I'm taking in such a small amount of calories that my body is holding onto whatever it can. I have had a nasty cold this week and I'm sure my body needs all it can to fight that! So my goal for myself is to up my Protein intake and keep up with my Water and this week I get to go back to the gym so more walking! YAY!! DH is in the hospital this morning getting his sleeve so I'll be on the go all week which will be nice! YAY!
  11. I'm guessing it means Birth Control! I don't have to worry about that, DH was fixed! LOL So I really need to stay off my scale I don't like what it reads this week so far

    NUT Appt

    I met with the NUT today and she is happy with how far I have come!! Only thing she wants from me is more Protein which I know I need to work on! I bought some more powder today so I can make some new shakes! She did tell me that I could progress a little quicker if my body feels up to it! She said I can start soft/mushy foods and not so much of just a blended/pureed foods. She really feels its all up to me and how I am feeling! I started eggs (egg whites scrambled) this week and they have been just fine plus the pureed chili I've been doing. So I think I'll still wait until at least the weekend and I might try some oatmeal or potatos! I'm still not going to push it too much but she wants me to push a little more then I have been! I am still not hungry but I can tell when my new tummy is empty and I just know that I NEED to put something in there!!!
  13. I tried yogurt hopeing my tastes had changed, nope still don't like it I am taking a multivitamin but that is it. My doctor hopes I will be able to keep all my levels up on my own but we are checking them all in the middle of this month and if I'm not then I'll have to take supplements! The only other thing I take is the Nexuim everyday! I've been getting in like 2 C of milk and now eggs and protein drinks so I hope I don't end up going on any supplements!
  14. I learned the hard way about heating it up, don't do it! LOL I tried it in hot cocoa and heated it up in the microwave, ICK! LOL I tried today to blend it in with a smoothie and it changed the taste and look of the smoothie and I didn't like it I really need to find a way to use it more because I have a HUGE tub of it!

    Any November 2010 Sleevers

    Doc just said to go at my own pace and listen to my body. Today I just walked on the treadmill for 30mins between 2.5 and 3mph! After 1lb weight loss last week I'm making myself NOT get on the scale until next Monday! LOL I will become obsessed and that is not what I need to do! LOL

    Any November 2010 Sleevers

    I was sleeved on the 15th and I am doing Great!!! Went back to work at one week after my drain was taken out! I'm on full liquids and this week I can add eggs! YAY! I'm not a big soup person so I've been doing SF/FF Pudding and Jello, protein drinks, milk, water and pureed chili! My incisions are healing good and I get to start going back to the gym today!! I am so happy I went through with the surgery and just can't wait to really get my whole new life started!
  17. Ummmm from a tub! LOL I honestly don't know, it was just the regular stuff I already had in my cupboard from making PB&J for the kiddo!
  18. I have the Wheybolic AMP from GNC in Chocolate, Banana Cream and Cookies and Cream and they aren't bad at all! Today I made Chocolate poweder, peanut butter, milk and ice in the blender and OMG SO GOOD! It totally smells and tastes just like a Reeses Peanut Butter cup!!
  19. I am on full liquids! I think this week I should be able to add eggs! I did make chili and blend it up and have been eating it and then got to thinking, that might be more of a pureed food? But it went down great! I'm not going to make/eat anything else though until I get the go ahead from my NUT! I didn't gain at all from surgery I was down 10lbs right away and the throughout the rest of week 1 I ended up with being down 15lbs! So when I look at the big picture, down 16lbs in two weeks is AWESOME!
  20. Being almost 2 full weeks out I can say I really fell GREAT!! I've been fighting this nasty cold so it has me run down and I can tell every calorie I intake my body is holding onto trying to get better but I really do feel good surgery wise! I see the NUT this week and see if I can advance to eggs or not but i think I might have messed up because I made chili and then pureed it and I think that is more blended/pureed food then it is liquid but it goes down good (of course in SUPER small doses)! My DH is having his surgery tomorrow! YAY!!! It's going to be great to finally really be going through this with him! I also get to start going back to the gym this week too! YAY!!

I was on Clear Liquids for 1 week, full liquids will be for 2 weeks and then onto blended/pureed for 1 week then mushy for 1 week and then onto soilds after that as long as everything goes as planned! I meet with the NUT on Wed. so we'll see what she says! I don't like Soup so I've been doing a lot of pudding and jello! Today though I made a very small batch of chili and I'm going to liquify it and see what I think!!!
  22. I'm curious as to what you are taking in each day right now since we're about the same time frame? Today I have had 30oz Water and working on a 20oz bottle of crystal light lemonade which I prob. won't finish since I'm heading to bed soon 3 Tbls Jello 3 Tbls SF/FF pudding 1 C Fruit smoothie (homemade) 1/2 C Milk I'm not a big Soup person so I HAVE to start in with the Protein drinks again but I am going to try and make chili tomorrow and blend it!!
  23. I am 12 days post-op and still on full liquids! I can drink about 30cc at a time and be okay but if I try more I get the "pain" but it passes really quickly so I make sure I wait about 3-5 mins between drinks. The full feeling I have is right at the end of my breastbone the top of my stomach and it's painful but again, it's always passed pretty quick! What foods are you eating?
  24. I quit April of last year and I couldn't be happier now!! It was hard in the begining but the biggest thing I did was chew gum and change my routines!!! I would sit outside at night and smoke and talk to the neighbor and when she moved, that was a quit time so that I wouldn't be tempted! I also smoked at work so instead of going out to smoke, I would walk down the hallway the oppsite was from the door to outside! And I won't lie, I ate BIG part of the reason why I'm here having surgery because I always turn to food
  25. How much water/fluid are you intaking? Right now I am getting in just over 40oz a day of just water! Then add a little hot tea or hot cocoa and jello and pudding!! I just had a UTI right before surgery! UGH! Those HURT! Everyone told me to drink cranberry juice (which of course I hate! LOL) so give that a try! Good luck!!!!!!
