Does (Did) Anyone Else Feel This Way?
BJGOODY posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 10/29 and I have literaly had NOTHING to eat since before my surgery. I have no appetite, no cravings and no desire to eat. I have tried the yogurt the broth the soups all a no go. One spoon and I'm done! I keep myself hydrated with water and protein but I am not getting in the desired amount. Is this normal? -

Thanks ladies! I just don't want to starve my body. So far the eggs have gone down good. At what week were you able to eat anything without the pain of it hitting your stomach? -
On The Way To The Hospital!

On my way also!!!! Good luck to you all and wishing a well and speedy recovery to us all!!! -
Hello losers! (and I mean that in the most respectful fun way). I just got approved for the sleeve and my surgery date is Oct 29 th yaaaaay! So I have a few "How long did it" ?'s. How long was your hospital stay? How long did it take to get back to your regular routine? How long did it take to heal? Were you able to walk a good distance without any pain or problems? I ask these questions because I have children. I drive to drop off and pick them up from school everyday so that should not be too much strain but I do have a one year old. My husband does not have vacation until December and I don't want to reschedule around his vacation. So I am hoping I can go back to my regular schedule after a couple of days with light restrictions.

GREAT!!!! Thank you all for your response. It seems as if you all have similar recovery stories. My husband seems to think I will be down and out as if I was having a baby. I am super mommy and I know that I will have to take it easy.

Lol thanks again. I too have a complicated relationship with this thing called ice cream. Butter pecan is his name! I will just go into this with a positive attitude. Hopefully I will be doing the "happy approved" dance in a few months!

Hello all!! I am new to this so bare with me. I have bcbs Fed and wanted to know if anyone has had a hard time getting approved? I know their requirements and my BMI is right at 40/41 with no comorbidities. I also noticed that they require proof of morbid obesity for at least 2 years. Being that my BMI is at 40/41 and my weight fluctuates, my recorded weight is lower and at a lower BMI. Will this effect my approval? I am scared that I will go through the process and get denied at the end. Just ready to be at a healthy weight

Thanks Kimmyiet...so is it safe to say that it is ok to go below a BMI of 40 during the 3 month nutritional visits? The only difference is your co morbidity. I definitely don't want to get denied because I did get under 40!

Thanks guys.. I had a baby last year and I always lose weight right before, during and right after pregnancy but the weight comes right back in a few months. So that is why my recorded weight and BMI is low for last year. So I'm really nervous about approval on that!

Hello everyone, I am new to this and found that this site is really cool. I am looking to get the lap band hopefully within the next month or so. I am 5'2 218 pounds and my BMI is right at 40. I had consultation on 4/24. I met with the surgeon, nutritionist and psyc and the procedure was explained thoroughly. I have an upper endoscopy done on Friday 5/1 and once that is done they are going to schedule me for pre op. My question is, am i doing all of this premature? The surgeons have all of my insurance information but i have not been approved yet. I have BCBS PPO Federal. I am dealing with Weight Loss Centers in Beverly Hills. If anyone has had a similar situation please give me some insight. I am sooo ready to post my results like everyone else but afraid that everything is moving toooo fast. Too good to be true....

I am glad to hear that someone is going through the same process pace as me. I had my EGD, EKG, Ultrasound and blood work done today. It was only a week ago today when i decided to look into the lap band and here it is a week later and I am almost done with the process. The only thing left is results to the insurance and a surgery date hopefully.

Last week I had consultation with Dr. Salamatari in Beverly Hills. He seems to be a very down to earth person. I just wanted to know if anyone had a bad experience with him. My endoscoptomy is scheduled for Friday and my Pre Op will be scheduled right after but i have not been approved for the surgery yet. Is that the normal process? Please help!!!

I go tomorrow for my EGD. I thought the EKG and Ultrasound was done at a different time. So you had yours all done the same day? Hopefully after tomorrow I will just be waiting on a surgery date. As far as i know i don't have any ulcers or gallbladder problems. How long did the process take? -
Wow, maybe I should stop complaining! Are any of you dealing with Kaiser? My sister has Kaiser and they have the same requirements. She has to take a 20 week course. I just did not want to go through all of this and find out that there is a catch to this. I have asked all possible questions with the surgeon and insurance and everything is just going too smooth. After reading everybodys different journey i feel a little at ease now. Thanks everyone.
