Feeling Down, looking for a little support
MustLooseIt replied to LovedinFL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi well everyones body is diffrent. We all loose at a diffrent rate. I am sorry you are feeling down. 30 pounds is Great! I am also looking for people to give me support in this journey. It seems no one on here ever sends me a message. I had a hard time right after my surgery. I am glad I have a loving family to help support me. I just feel that even if the weight loss is slow at least its starting to come off. I just think of how hot I will be by next year! If you would like to message me feel free..I am always looking for new friends. -
Yes it is sore. But as long as you keep up on your pain meds and use a pillow to support it when getting up or rolling over it will help. I have no pain anymore around my port. I did baby it for awhile. I now can sleep on my tummy oh how I love to sleep on my tummy  the pain is all worth it, trust me!

How'd you get the gas to go away?
MustLooseIt replied to Erin18's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For my gas pain I used a heating pad. It worked so well. Gax x did not work for me. Walking helped little but the heating pad was key. Hope this helps you. -
Try prune juice. I know its nasty but it works. My nut. told me to buy some and drink it. I did and it worked the next morning, I felt so much better. It has never happend again. Good luck.

Pre Op Jitters!! Help!!
MustLooseIt replied to bigsmoove23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This was the best thing I have ever done for myself. All my life it has always been about everyone else but me. I got a divorce from a abusive man of 9 years. I went to the doctor and cried when he weighed me. He asked if I would like to see a wLs and I said yes. I was approved. Scared to death but studied everything I could about it. Surgery day I was not scared.I was so ready to start over with my life. I told them before that I got really sick after my last surgery. So they gave me everthing I needed to stop that before I even woke up. Congrats on your surgery. Just make sure to take your pain meds on time! And use a pillow on your port when you stand up and sit down. It helps so much..keep us updated. -
I can not sleep on my left side! I can't even lay that way for very long. I miss sleeping on my stomach! I had to sleep on my back for a couple weeks. It was really hard for me. I now sleep on my right side with a pillow around my port site (this is a life saver for those who just had surgery). I used my little pillow all the time to get up and down. Really helped with pain. I also sleep with a pillow between my knees I don't know why but it helps me sleep like a rock. Hang in there it gets better:smile2:.

My sister came over to help me mesure today. I have to say I was amazed that I am down 8 1/4 inches in 2 weeks! That is sure a great feeling! Oh and to get on a normal scale and weigh myself what a wonderful feeling!

I went in to the doctor for my first fill. Let me tell you that big needle freaked me out. The bad part he could not get it! Most of my weight is in the front so it made it hard. I cried when I left it hurt so bad and he stuck me over and over. Today I am going in again to get a fill and they are using an xray machine. I am praying it goes well. Anyone else have this problem?

I know I am older than you but if you ever need someone to talk to please feel free to send me a email. I want to also tell you that I have lost a few of my friends that I thought would always be there for me. I guess they just could not handle the fact that I would be diffrent..I am not sure. It was hard but I have made new friends and got in touch with old friends from school. I have not told everyone what I have done. Its a personal choice really. Don't be scared this will be a new chapter in your life:biggrin: its one of the best things I have ever done for myself. Keep us updated on how it goes.

A day in your life with the band
MustLooseIt replied to eyezchu22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh boy ladies wish I could eat..lol I have no hunger what so ever. I have to force myself to eat a little cottage cheese in the afternoons. I drink water LOTS OF WATER. I am so thirsty and in the mornings I FEEL like I have walked 40 miles..its crazy! Talk about dry mouth! YUCK..But the more water I drink the better I feel. I also love tea with no sugar. I love tuna salad with a boiled egg in it. I only have 1/2 cup and I am stuffed! Its wonderful! I love my band! -
Hello, Glad your doing well. I didn't even think about posting the day of my surgery. But I did have a hernia removed. So I was pretty tired. I also did not do the swallow thing. I guess I never asked if that was normal or not. I am doing fine, have no problems. Every doctor is diffrent. Get your rest, I found that to be very important.

Sorry about the straw..but its not so bad. Wishing you well. Kinda sad that people in that room acted like they didnt want to be there. This is one of the best things I have EVER done for myself! -
Acid reflux after fill?
MustLooseIt replied to swimswiggs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So glad to hear someone else had a feeling of a little bone or hair stuck in the back of your Throat. I have found that it only happens when I don't get in enough water. When I wake up in the mornings my band feels very tight too. I am not sure if it is because I sleep on my side or not. I find drinking more water helps it go away. I had my first fill on Friday and I can tell a big diffrence. Love this site :crying: -
unclear on exercising
MustLooseIt replied to thereitgoes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone is diffrent. I also had a hernia removed so it was longer for me. I had a really hard time when I got my first fill the other day. He could not hit the port. Yikes..Well as far as exercise..I walk not as far as I could before surgery. I tried to walk a mile the other day and thought I would die when I was done. My doctor said to try and let my body heal more. So I just walk around the block a couple times. Doctor knows best, good luck. -
My first fill I thought I was going to DIE..My doctor could not find my port and stabbed me many times with no pain meds. Next day I had to meet him at the image center to do it again. This time I asked for pain meds before I even let him touch me. He was very nice about it. And it helped so much. Just ask your doctor. Why should you be in pain?

MustLooseIt replied to losing4life's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same problem. It hurt to take a deep breath. I had to use that lovely machine every hour. It helped me. I also walked every hour. Even if it was just around the house one time. Walking helps so much. I hope you feel better soon. Stay strong you can do this :tongue2: -

Fill Nightmare!
MustLooseIt replied to MustLooseIt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am going to ask for pain meds first. Thanks for the tip. I am just here waiting on the doctor to call and tell me what time to meet him today. I am so sore from yesterday I hope he give me something to numb it this time. I won't let him do it if he don't. I can't wait to get this weight off and the next time it won't be this hard. Thanks for the response. -
Newly banded confused about eating
MustLooseIt replied to bashful1269's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to make sure and follow what your doctor tells you to do.All doctors are diffrent. I also could not have pudding that soon. I only had liquids for 3weeks after surgery. On week 3 I started soft foods. Like eggs and cottage cheese. I wish you well. I went to the doctor yesterday and am down 43 pounds. Feeling great. It will get easier I promise..It was real hard for me at first too. -
