I went in under floro to get a fill on monday. Well my Doctor said that my port has flipped. I go in Friday for surgery to fix it. He said its supposed to look like a upside down tophat but its actully like a tophat thats not upside down. I am freaking out. I don't want to deal with pain. Anyone have any tips for me? If you have had this surgery how bad did you feel after? I had surgery for my lapband June 2009 I have lost 148 pounds so far. Do you think its from my weight loss? I dont really work out hard on the weights yet. I do work out cardio an hour a day. Please someone let me know what to expect.

Call the doctor let them know whats going on. Also walk walk walk...it helps with the chest and shoulder pain. Also are you using your breathing thing they sent home with you? Thats very important to keep your lungs strong. Hope you feel better soon..Dont worry it goes away.

I just had pain under my ribs when I would take a deep breath. If your port is flipped they would not beable to give you a fill in most cases. If you can not keep water down you may need to call your doctor for a unfill. Thats not very safe. I have been to the er twice for being sick from my band. I had to be put on iv fluid and get some of my band unfilled. I just got it filled again on friday. I only have 3 ccs in mine and fill very restricted. Everyones body is diffrent. I think my port flipped because of all the weight I have lost and the way my body has changed so much. I do have to say I would do this all over again. I still have to get to my goal weight. I am not there yet.

Surgery went great. I am back to work. I had surgery on friday and came back to work monday. I am sore still but nothing too painful. I worried for nothing. I still can not sleep on my stomach but its alright for now. I do feel hungry a little more but I think it has to do with the pain meds I am on. He did a fill while he fixed my port. I had no idea it flipped didnt feel anything diffrent. I do notice the pains I was having under my ribs went away. So it must of been from the port.

I have not got into get my new driver's license yet. I am down 148 and the picture on my license does not even look like me at all..lol last week the guy at the video store asked to see my Id he looked at it then looked at me twice..lol he said this is not you. I said oh yes sir it is me. I have just lost weight and don't look like that anymore.

My goodness I hope things work out for her. I am glad to hear it does not hurt as bad as the first surgery. I am a big baby for pain. I just wonder how mine flipped. Hope he does something diffrent or better so that sucker dont flip again.

I also find that if you make sure to get all your water in that its not always so hard to eat. I myself have not even tried to eat pizza. I can not eat bread at all. I also can not eat pasta. If I dont stay hydrated I feel like crap. So I make sure to drink as much as I can. And I have had many times that I felt so jealous of everything everyone else can eat and I could not get anything down. My mother cooked prime rib for christmas. Guess what couldnt touch it. Sucked big time. I am so glad to get back online to read these posts makes me feel not so alone.

I did end up in the Er a few weeks ago. I could not keep anything down even water. I was put on a iv for about 5 hours to rehydrate. My doctor took out almost all my fill. I have only 2ccs now and dont feel hungry at all. I am down 120 since June 26th 2009. I have had many ups and downs with not being able to eat anything at all.The last few weeks have been good. I drink liquid vitamans everyday. I wish you well. This is something very serious so dont ignore it, if you cant get anything down call your doctor.

I was feeling very weak the last week or so, I thought this can not happen! I have lost so much weight already. I called my lapband doctor and he said to check in with my Regular doctor to have my blood pressure checked. Guess WHAT :laugh: iT Was LOW! The meds were making it too low now that I have lost weight. Oh what a great feeling to be told that I could stop taking those two meds! I am starting to feel better now that I am off them. I thought well I should have TONS of energy but was feeling very weak. Problem Fixed! I love my LapBand! :thumbup:

Oh my the first time this happend to me It felt like someone was taking a sharp knife to my stomach. It HURT me so bad. I thought I will never let this happen again. Well it did happen again. I didnt over eat, it is what I ate the band did not let it go down. I guess we all have to learn what will work and what won't. I do have to say that when its a pb its fast so you better hope your not in a public place..:w00t:

I called my family doctor he sent me out some liquid vitamins. I could not do chewable it made me sick. I just mix it with my juice in the morning. I can't eat in the morning I am too tight. And I will get sick.

I used heat to get rid of my shoulder pain. I thought I was going to DIE :drool: After a few weeks it was gone. I walked and walked...and used heat and made my dear boyfriend rub rub rub...I took pain meds but it did not touch the pain. Don't worry for most of us it goes away!

Make sure to use that breathing device they gave you at the hospital every hour. It helps so much. I know it hurts when you do it but you really do need to use it. You will be tired for a few days. Get your rest. Welcome to the family

My boyfriend and I broke up yesterday. He was mad that a guy came looking for a roofing job and I was talking to him on the front porch..omg are you serious! How many of you lost a relationship due to loosing so much weight and your other half could not handle the new attention you get? I am more hurt than anything. Its not like I was flirting with the guy or anything. I didn't even know him.

I broke up with him. I told him that I was just talking about work. He was very upset and mad that I was talking to a guy at all no matter what it was about. Guess its just time to keep moving!
