I am not sure if anyone has posted about this shake already but I found a protein shake that is not bad...It's Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein Cookies'n'Cream. One scoop has 130 calories and 26g of protein. I mixed it with 4 oz of 1% milk, alot of ice, blended it in my magic bullet, and I actually enjoyed it!! I bought a 2lb bottle for 13.96 at Walmart which isn't bad either.

Insurance Approval...Being banded August 3rd for sure!
adelarosa33 posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So I had to call my Dr.s office to see if my insurance approved my surgery for August 3rd, and they did. I am so excited!! In just a few days I will be on a new journey to a better, healthier, me! It's funny because I had a dream the other night that it was the day of surgery and the Dr.'s were not able to put me under anethesia! I wouldn't fall asleep!! lol I guess it's my nerves getting to me...even though I don't feel too nervous about the surgery. i don't have to strict of a pre-op diet, but I've been on vacation and haven't started it yet! I just hope I didn't put on any weight because Dr. says he wont operate if I did!!! -
Congratulations!!!! I am approved for August 3rd!!

Thanks Valerie!! -
I am thinking Realize for myself becuase of the slightly lower slippage rate, also a smaller port, and website is a lil plus also...I am still undecided though. Dr. also says that he may change my decision while operating if he sees necessary. My Dr. says that they will both have the same effect, as long as I'm doing the right eating and exercising.

So I guess I'll be next. My name is Angela and I am 30 years old and living in Union City, NJ. I've been overweight allllllllllllllllll my life. I can't remember the last time I was in onederland either... I was probably about 12! I am 5'6'' currently weighing about 260. I have my last Dr.'s appt. this Thursday 7/16 which they will also give me my surgery date. I am hoping that it will be the first week of August due to work reasons. Then I will wait upon approval from Aetna. Does anyone know how long approval takes?? Whos is doing lapband and who is doing Realize Band? Hope to hear from you all soon!! Good Luck to all!!

Hello everyone...I am new to this and I am not a great storyteller but I will do my best to start logging this journey. I need all the support I can get. I have been a fatty all my life and I was on a diet as long as I can remember. I was on a strict diet in the 1st grade...drinking diet shakes in the 4th grade....and on Nutrisystem in the 8th grade, but nothing was long term. As I got older and started hearing of gastric bypass, I looked into it...but was scared to do it and always said I can do it on my own. Well here I am, just turned 30 weighing 252, and now I'm like who am I kidding I need help!!! I attended a seminar with Dr. Goyal in April and had my first appointment. I am certain that I want and need WLS, but I am just not 100% sure whether to get lapband or gastric bypass. I am leaning towards the lapband because it is a simplar surgery and the risks are not as great...the only thing that makes me want to get bypass is the quick weight loss, and I LOVE SWEETS!!!! lol So I attended my 2nd appt. with Dr. Goyal on May 28, and I was told that if insurance goes through I will have surgery in early August!!! :w00t: Thank God I have Aetna and only need to wait 3 months. Everyday I change my mind on which surgery to get. So I am looking forward to hearing from anyone's experience with lap band, whether good or bad. I hope to hear from you soon!!! Thanks, Angie :wink2:
