Kathy, Congratulations! It only uphill or is it downhill? I always got that expression confused. I remember the first week was tough, I didn't really have any pain from the surgery, but I did experienced bad gas pain. If you haven't had any gas pains yet you are probably safe from getting them. I am 2 1/2 months out, the weight loss has been slower for me than BG. But, I also am not as self discipline as she. I need to get back to following the band "rules". She has been inspirational for me, I read her blog daily.
I do wish you a speedy recovery, let everyone help you, before you know it, you will be back to your self!!

Hi lucky dog, I have seen your name on BG. blogs. I have enjoyed her writings and especially her humor. I was banded the same day as she. April 22. Have you had your surgery yet? From what I read July 20th is your date? correct? I am in southern Calif. what part of the country are you in? Best of luck to you. Its certainly helpful reading everyone's different experiences. BG, Wow! Thats how I imagined your yard, garden area would look, so very different here in southern Calif. We are lucky to have a chunk of grass we call our back yard. Our yards are ity-bity , I think the lots on our block are only 5,000 sq. ft. most of it is all house. Thanks for sharing the photos. Barbara

BG, As usual I love reading your posts. I didn't realize it is my 2nd month anniversary as well. I had 2 incidents just like yours, this weekend we were at a grad. party in San Juan Capastrano Beach, and I ate too big of a bite or didn't chew up my taco and felt the same pain, then panic because I too thought "oh no!" all these people and I going to start hurling in their guest bathroom! But it subsided and I felt blessed with just the pain no slime. Since my 2nd fill, I can feel restriction but only with food, not with liquids. I have one question which confused me, is your total 41lbs loss or 19 lbs? Regardless, its all good. My loss is a lot slower than yours. Enjoy the Jimmy B. concert, nothing that makes you feel more alive and happy then that!!!! Barbara

Congrats BG!! Did you get 1.5 ccs all at once? Or is this a combo from your first? I get my second on Thurs. my guess is that I am only going to get 3 maybe 4 ccs. Barbara

BG, I was concerned that I haven't seen your post, and was worried you had another weird kind of complication. I also gained this week a whooping 4lbs! I went to northern CA. for a girls weekend and ended up eating/drinking as before. Absolutely no restriction, I hate to admit it, but I actually ate fast food, McDonalds and TacoBell. (I usually never do that) I came back home worried to death that I totally screwed up my band, like stretching completely out. Also, my weight loss has not been like yours, maybe a total of 14 lbs. since surgery. Anyway, I am in the same boat and we WILL GET BACK ON TRACK! My 2nd fill is on the 18th. Barbara

Oops, I didn't mean to post that last sentence. What I was going to say was, I had to go to the radiology dept. for my first fill. Did they do yours on X-ray? They actually fill the band and watch it on x-ray and they had me drink some barium to see if everything is functioning correctly. Then he withdrew most of the saline out leaving 4cc. The next fill I will have done in the doctor's office without xrays. Like I said to you I hope you feel more restriction, because I don't. I didn't even need to say on a 2 days of full liquids afterwards. I did one day and introduced food on the second. I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't any discomfort as well. Barbara

BG, your house sounds fun......when my son was in high school a few years back he got up for school only to find his Ford Explorer wrapped completely sealed with plastic cling seran wrap. The girls that did must of used 5 containers of cling wrap, he had to cut his way in.Your photo above reminded me of that. I love "harmless" jokes. I still am chuckling over that one. Barbara

BG, Funny!!! Hey, if it makes you feel better, I know I have you beat on my saved pants. I have bins of every size. I could not just get rid of Levis, that never felt right. Any other brand I could. I am loving just being able to breath and feeling the baggyness. (something about baggy pants even though they are size 16, makes you feel thin) Barbara

BG,I know what PBing is but I can't figure out is NSV!! I had my first fill last Fri. I feel no restriction, if anything I am eating more! I keep reading the blogs and they are reassuring to me that sometimes you don't feel restriction right away. I look forward to your first fill and to hear in your cleaver blog writings. Barbara

BG, I just got back from visiting 2 girlfriends up on Balboa Island, its close to Newport Beach and Irvine. Well, I just want you to know, I fell into the exact situation! Right down to the spinach dip. My other downfall was white wine. We are at a beach house and the sun is shining and its just the girls, no husbands. Well, I got back home and got on the dreaded scale, and I gained 2 lbs in 2 days. So, like you I am reminded of amount of food I still can eat, hopeing I didn't screw up my band with such binge. My 1st. fill is Friday! I couldn't wait to read your blog, and was a little relived to hear that I am not alone in this. Barbara

Just got back from my docs. He said I was his lightess post op patient he has had. I weigh in at 177 lb!! (14 lbs loss)I can't be happier. I didn't get a fill, I have to go over to the hospital and the radiologist does it on the 22nd. Hope your visit went as smoothly and your weight loss is great. Barbara
