Trying to read a bit before work! I had a lovely time with you ladies this weekend! Lee- I love in EG but unfortunately my training at the gym is at 7 tonight! There's also a WLS group tonight not far from the holiday inn express. Just ask the hotel to direct you to the Elk Grove Kaiser. It's in a meeting room across from the pharmacy on the first floor. No more time to finish reading, I've got to get to work. Have a great day! -
It's been a while since I've blogged. Things have been slow in the weight loss dept but otherwise life is good. We're almost finished with the purchase our first home! Hopefully moving in a few weeks. I think I'm in a funk right now, I'm having trouble sticking to my pre-op diet and now I'm getting discouraged. Not to the point of quitting, but I'm not as dilligent as I once was. I've increased my exercise but I'm not eating as well as I was six months ago. It's times like these where I get really annoyed with my surgeon. I know he gave me my pre-op goal weight for a reason, and I'll have a better result after surgery. I just don't know how to get back on track and lose these last 40 lbs before my surgery. I'm also finding myself getting a little jealous of other people who don't have to lose so much before they get surgery scheduled. Some days that inspires me to work harder, but other days I get so discouraged. (I think this may be one of the latter...) I don't really know where I was going with this, I think I just needed to get it out. Whew.

Pam- Congrats to your parents! 54 years is amazing. Glad your dinner went well. Coco- I'm so excited for you. Really happy! This is an amazing time in your life. You're gonna rock it! And yes, that's a fast move! I hate moving too. I hate packing and unpacking. I'm so excited to move this time because it's going to be the last time I move for a good long time! I'm excited for our outing tomorrow! I feel like I've been totally slacking this week so I need the exercise! -

Ah Nicole! We're going to miss you! (But I'm way excited for you!) Does this mean you have to pack and move the house by yourself of is husband coming home to help? -

Oh, and I forgot my pedometer when I left the house this morning, so my morning workout wasn't counted! -

Today's my day off (Yay!) and I've been totally productive! We took one of the cars in this morning since my fella is going to drive to Vegas this weekend. I took him to work, went to the gym and did 45 minutes on the elliptical, ran home and showered, had a dentist appt, grocery shopping, then a pedicure, then walgreens and home! I'm still going to do dishes and clean the house, go to a movie with my fella and go back to the gym for another 45 min tonight. I showed today who's boss!! -

I'm a bit bummed at the moment. I went to my training session at the gym and didn't even make it 10 minutes. My knee started to bother me, I first hurt it 10 years ago (omg, can't believe that was 10 years ago...) and it hasn't bothered me much in about 8 years. The trainer told me to go home and ice it and we'll make it up with a 1on1 next week. I was all ready for my workout too! The crummy part is that it was bothered on all the machines (stairmaster, elliptical, upright bike, recumbant bike) and bikes are supposed to be good for bad knees! Bummer. I definately want to err on the side of caution. So it's rest and ice tonight. -

Doesn't seem right that I'm baking cupcakes while watching The Big.gest Lo.ser. Aaaaand I didn't go to the gym tonight either. I've just not felt well, gotta kick that though! I'm going tomorrow night no matter what! I bought a pork tenderloin the other day and marinated half in teriyaki and grilled it(served with brown rice and veggies) and the other half in the costco pesto (ala Reggie's chicken) and baked it. Yum-o. All I can say. I even have just the right amount for leftovers. I'm excited about Saturday! I have friends in the area so not only do I get my band ladies fix, but I get to see them too! Candra- about Dr. Oz... lolz. It's all in the fiber wraps! Do you think that'll get me from a 20/22 to a 12 in 12 weeks? 'Cause I'd be down with that! Do you guys remember when Angel talked about the triathalon she did? It was the Tri Girl Tri (love the name) and I had decided that I'd do it this year, even if it's as a relay team. I just looked up the date and it's the same day as my friend's wedding! Booo. Maybe I should be training now for next year's! That swim thing scares me. I also will be doing a 5k on 7/4 again this year, my goal is to run the whole thing. (Don't tell Liz, I bet she'll say I'm too fat to run) I've been getting the urge to run more, so I take that as a great sign. Gotta go, my oven dinged. (So bad... I know, but I'm making the cupcakes so we don't have to move so much food! I'm making dinner from the stuff in the freezer and other things I've stocked up on. Hope to be in the new house in under 1 month... Yay!) Oh, and I'm sending the cupcakes in to work with the fella and to my office too. -

Good Morning! I'm just having my breakfast. (I know, in front of the computer... I'll try to break that habit I swear!) I wasn't feeling well last night so I didn't go to my group training, which means I have to go tonight. I swear, this daylight savings thing messed me up. I was so tired at work yesterday I was afraid I'd fall asleep! I seem to have gained about 5 lbs over the weekend. Not cool since I weigh in at the gym tonight. My trick? I wait until after my workout (try not to drink too much water during) then weigh in, then finish hydrating. I'll drink if I'm thirsty but no gulping. Seems to have helped last week. Somebody pray to the scale gods that it's ok tonight! lol. -

My MBTs are the shoes I wore yesterday. They're like the Sketchers Shape-Ups. MBT stands for Masai Barefoot Technology. They're supposed to simulate walking in sand or moss. So our bodies can walk the way we were meant to. -

Pam- I so enjoyed our walk today! I must be getting more fit, or my MBTs must really be working for me because when I did that same walk a month ago I was sooo sore afterwards. Today, I feel great! And you're right, today was a beautiful day. I'm glad we were able to get out and walk and your daughter could come too! I remember in orientation they said you have to weigh your proteins before surgery but to measure them after. Nicollie's wedding was wonderful. Reggie hosted an amazing reception, it was great to see everyone and share in Nicole's special day. -

Didn't Christine do marinara with ricotta and motzerella and bake it? I remember she loved it, and the idea stuck with me. Pam- We could meet at my gym and walk through the park next to it. It's nice, there's a trail and a pond. Way to go Ash! -

Pam, 9 sounds good! The challenge is going well. Only 5 more sessions with the trainer left! I'm still gaining and losing the same 5 lbs. I don't know what that's all about. I'm trying not to stress too much about it. If it take me a long time to lose this weight then so be it. As long as I stick with it and don't give myself permission to eat entire loaves of bread etc I'll be ok. I have to stop pressuring myself to lose fast like I did all those months ago. It's going to take me a long time to get to my surgery goal, I have to be ok with that and keep chugging along. -

Yay Coco! (About the honeymoon, not the infection and shot!) I'm so excited for you! My trainer called in sick last week, so I haven't had a trainer-led workout in a week. Boy, he made up for it. That skinny man sure can work us hard! He'll do V-sits and things and make them look so easy. So annoying! But I'm loving the training. It really does make a difference. I thought I did pretty well with my workouts on my own, but with the trainer it's a whole other level. I've got the exercise thing down, but I'm having trouble on the food front. I've started weighing my protein again. I was eyeballing at least 3-4 times the portion I should have been having. Yikes! No wonder I was stuck! -

Do you actually get to plan the shower or has she already instructed you?! I seemed to jump on the carb addict wagon too. The ladies at work ordered pizza for lunch and I thought "Mmmm. Ok!". I had major carb-gorge today. Ugh. I didn't get much sleep, maybe that had something to do with it. -

Sometimes I just don't know why I made a bad decision. Sometimes I eat unplanned food because I feel entitled, like I'd been doing so well all week so I "deserved" a treat. I also feel a bit exhausted with the diet, even though I've been off track for a few months, I still feel like I've been dieting non-stop. I think Sac needs a few of those head hunger classes Pat and Riley raved about. Sign me up! Speaking of... Miss Riley- We miss you! I'm glad you're enjoying life. Isn't that the whole point? Reggie- March 20- Pat has invited us out to Petaluma. We're going to do the wetlands walk that Riley tried to get us to do all those months ago and I think lunch after. Will you join us?
