I'll be there Saturday! Ashley-I'm so sorry for your wait! Only 12 patients per month? That seems low. Only 144 patients per year? Or is that just sleeve? That's craziness. Just keep with your diet and exercise plan. You can do this! -

I found this today while reading lap-band blogs. (I spent hours reading blogs today) It's Dr. Oz's 10 Commandments for weight loss. Makes a lot of sense. We Tried It: Dr. Oz's 10 Commandments for Weight Loss - That's Fit -

Howdy! I just got back from a weight check at Kaiser. It's so much nicer now that they don't require an appt. They have a new nurse and she told me not to make an appt and the gals that check me in didn't say a word about it! Well, I went back to wearing my weigh-in dress and it worked like a charm. I don't remember what I weighed two weeks ago (and I forgot to update the ticker then) but I'm at least 4-5 lbs down since then (maybe more?). It's so nice seeing the scale go in the right direction again, makes the resistance muscle work harder too! -

Lol John. You crack me up. Hey Candra! I'm glad you got to hang out with Coco & Soda! Totally jealous! (Did you guys get massages?) We went to a wedding yesterday, his best friend's. It was really nice, would have been better if the weather had cooperated. It was raining for hours! And it was an outdoor ceremony, with a lawn reception. There was a tent which kept us pretty dry, but the lawn started to get pretty muddy. We still had a great time, and when we left the sky was clear and you could see countless stars. I seem to have dropped the 6 lbs I gained somewhere. So that's nice to see! Still not where I want to be but I'm detoxing on the sugar, gets a little easier each day. (The favors last night were see's candy. This morning I found one someone had snuck in my purse and I threw it right in the trash. -

Way to go Chrissy! I was dropping weight like that when I first started the 1200 cal. I had to go use the scale at the gym because I didn't trust my own scale. I didn't think it was possible. Enjoy this time! -

I think the fill thing is changing a bit. Last year Dr Baggs was giving tons of tiny fills, Dr. Im would give infrequent but large fills, and I don't know what the other two were doing. It seems like they might be a lot more concerned with people being overfilled. I think they're all being a lot more conservative with fills. And you will have to go to Richmond for fills, sometimes they'll do them in vacaville or pinole. You should write to member services and tell them you want a fill center in Sacramento and you're not alone. If we all do that, perhaps we can change something. They don't know how bad we need it if we don't tell them. -

I go to Cal Fit in Elk Grove. I'm still pre-op, my orientation was 11 months ago. Wow, stings a bit when I realize how long ago that was! I also have Doc Fisher, he gave me a surgery goal of 84 lbs. I'm sitting right around 40 lbs lost. I'm about ready to go back in and ask him to reconsider, it's so much harder to lose now than it was 11 months ago. -

Lol John. Tell us how you really feel! Lol. Welcome Rachelle! How much did Doc Fisher require you lose before surgery? He gives every totally different amounts, I'm curious. I wouldn't start drinking shakes, Richmond is so against them. Of course, I do have an occasional shake. I like to have them on hand for emergencies, like those days I'm running super-late for work and have nothing in the fridge, or if I wake up late on a weekend, and have lunch plans. A shake will satisfy me for 1-2 hours, so keep that in mind. But don't start bad habits if you can avoid them! Rachelle- Do you belong to a gym in EG? -

Morning all. Mo- The Doc is right about intervals. My trainer had us starting with 90 seconds of high intensity and 90 seconds of recovery. Now I'm pretty sure we're 90 high and 30 recovery. I'm worried at the moment. I had really bad plantar fasciitis in my foot that I dealt with for at least 9 months before I got the shot in my foot in November. I was out and about yesterday, wearing my Fitflops and my foot was hurting a little. I guess my shot wore off already because my foot is full-on in pain. I don't know how long they're supposed to last but this sucks! I'm especially bummed since I've been wearing much better shoes than I had before I got the shot, thinking I could prevent it from coming back in the first place. No such luck. Anyway. Off to work. Have a good day! -

I just watched the CNN story. That girl makes me so sad, she hasn't been able to run since she was 5 years old. My greatest fear is raising children with the same food issues I have. It breaks my heart to see children going through this. I started gaining my weight when I was about 10, but I've always been active and able to do many things. My family always ate healthy. When my friends would get candy or fruit snacks in their lunches I would have a granola bar. We didn't have chips in the house, we only had desserts on the most special of occasions. My parents prepared healthy meals for us and I still turned out needing WLS. (Don't really know where I was going with this, I just felt so bad for that girl. Heartbreaking). -

My goal for the week is 10,000 steps every day. So far I've got 3 days in a row! If only I'd brought my pedometer with me on our walk instead of leaving it in the car... I had an awesome weekend. I left Pat's house and checked in to my hotel and hung out for a bit. Then I went to the factory stores. I bought an insulated bag for my crock pot. Lol. That's so like me... I spent more time back at the hotel hanging out. I watched a Cake Boss marathon. I'd never seen the show (don't have cable) and I hate that guy. He is so annoying AND he made a cake for a gang. REALLY? REALLY? So irritated by that. ... Moving on, my friend and I went to a party at his neighbor's apartment. Some kid's 21st b-day. I felt so old! I never went to college parties when I was in college. There was a girl there who was so excited to meet my friend she sqealed "OMG, You're like a celebrity! I can't believe I'm meeting you". She was cracking me up. Later in the evening she was asking people if they were gay/straight, and turned to me and asked "are you a lesbian, gay, straight, a man?" (Yeah, she'd been drinking) when I answered "Straight woman" she said "ME TOO! OMG, we're twins... but you're 26". Apparently after I left she went and cleaned my friend's kitchen. I think the lesson I learned, is that you can have a clean kitchen but you have to recruit at college parties. On Sunday we had breakfast in Cotati and then went up to Armstrong Woods and did a nice walk up there. So nice. I even got a chance to work out at my hotel's gym Sunday morning too! I'm rambling. That means it's time for bed. Goodnight! -

Tina- I'm so glad you were able to get a fill. I love that you got to do that standing up. How cool! Maria- Don't disappear when you're not doing well! That's what we're here for! For support and encouragement. John- No, I don't have an appt with Doc Fisher yet. I'm still not at the point where I think it would help. My goal now is to get back to my psych appt weight, and then go in. It's still about 25 lbs from the surgery goal, but it's better than where I'm at. Ash- Have you thought about buying a temporary ring? You can just buy a cheap band each time you drop a ring size then get your real ring resized when you're closer to goal. I'd heard it isn't good for you ring to be resized multiple times, something about making it weaker.
